[Q] Alltel Samsung Showcase - Fascinate Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hey everyone,
I have an Alltel Samsun Galaxy S (Showcase) It's about the same as the Fascinate.
I have tried all of the CM's i can find and they all work excpet for one problem, mobile internet never works.
Does anyone know of a version of Cyanogenmod that works with the Alltel Showcase?
Thanks,
Ryan

Well oddly enough there is more showcase support over at rootzwiki site
http://rootzwiki.com/forum/30-mesmerizeshowcase-development/
And there is even a rom converter tool for making other ones compatible

Are you getting the same CHAP auth failed? I have modified the APN database and worked with the Phone Info app to change the radio type. Nothing seems to work; however, at Rootzwiki some have gotten it to work but nothing they did works for me even on the same Rom.

Try changing your connection to wap.voicestream.com. Internet2.voicestream.com tends to have issues with MMS. Hope that helps...

Setting up GPRS connection

Hello everyone,
I have Siemens SX56 which was originally locked to AT&T and then unlocked lately.
I tried finding info on how to set up GPRS internet connection here on the forum but failed
Can anyone advice where I need to enter this info on my GSM operator GPRS:
(it's actually from my Motorola E1000 GPRS setup which connects fine - hence names, etc.)
NAME: Moldcell
Homepage: http://www.moldcell.md
Service Type: HTTP
Gateway IP: 10.0.10.10
PORT: 9201
DNS1: 000.000.000.000
DNS2: 000.000.000.000
Timeout: 15 minutes
Speed(BPS): 9600
Line Type: ISDN
APN: internet
Username: gprs
Password: gprs
Many thanks in advance!
Regards,
Artem.
you'd prob get more related responses in the networking it forum then pure wallaby forum
as gprs should be setup the same way on these devices
Hi Rudegar,
Thanks for the hint, but I still think it's SX56 and OS specific issue since I noted that in Connections settings I miss Proxy Settings where I'm supposed to set Gateway and port (as far as my understanding goes) - that's why I decided to check in this thread first.
Maybe there's some soft I need to use to connect to GPRS or whatever?

I have to connect to a Wi-Fi connection.
It's WEP protected, and it's ok, because i have the key, is mine
It has no DHCP, ad was easy too, i manually set all the ip/gateway/dns.
So, the device (Nexus S with ICS 4.0.3) is connected, i have full signal strenght in the status bar; but it doesn't work!
I tried at least 10 time to set it!
It couldn't be a network problem, because my pc, wi-fi connected, work fine!

DNS1: 8.8.8.8
DNS2: 8.8.8.4
And that are the one from my device:
Code:
IP: 192.168.1.10
Network prefix lenght (i'm not sure that this is the correct translation, but i'm using an italian devices): 24
Gateway: 192.168.1.253
DNS1: 8.8.8.8
DNS2: 8.8.8.4
On my Pc i have to unchecked the IEEE 802.1x authentication, but i don't know how to do this on my phone.
