You can still flash custom roms, just not OTA's or RUU's

I've already nanoid backup.
Lets say I'll go ahead & experiment with custom ROMs, & that fails, the phone will get stuck with whatever screen or black screen.
You think I can use Toolkit V1.1 by hasoon2000 to boot to Recovery & restore it?
sorry for asking too many questions, I just want to avoid issues.
Thanks

If you have a nandroid of your stock rom, aslong as you do not wipe your faux sd card. You can return to stock no matter what.

Can I use this method to flash custom ROM for HOX+?

Happily to report that I've successfully installed Elegancia 3.2 without updating the firmware.
Thank you all.

This is a pure stock rom. I removed nothing. I only added system level tweaks. I.E. busybox, root, init.d support, and so forth. No apps were added or removed. Just something for people that like a stock looking rom with little to no changes.
Instructions:
Copy to SD.
Flash in recovery.

So with this we don't need to use the multi tool if we are running GB?
Does this give S-OFF with HC?

No. You still have to be rooted and either HTC unlock or s-off.

Updated with actual RUU and not a system dump.
It's not doing the bootloader thing for me. Did your latest update remove the necessity of flashing the boot.img in fastboot? Also, do I need to manually create the init.c directory? because it's not present after the flash.

No it is the same kernel and everything just used the official source. I packaged it this way to prepare for the HTC dumlock recovery hack. The only reason you would need to flash the kernel through hboot is if you are HTC unlocked. I am working on the recovery and integrating the dumlock so HTC unlock users can flash kernels in recovery

On this device you are unable to go back and forth like you can on other devices. You need to upgrade hboot for one. There is an s-off upgrade thread by globatron here somewhere that will tell you how to do the upgrade while keeping s-off. Once you do that you can flash this without an issue

Hey all
I have rooted device with s off and the final radio that end with 06m.
I'm using ext4 as recovery.
I tried to flash a few ics rooms but all of them get stack at logo screen, sometime almost half an hour until I get out the battery.
I can install only rom with low versions like leedroid 3.

Guys guys Guys. This is a DEVELOPMENT THREAD for a reason. Please will you stop posting these kinda Questions here. Please head over to another section Q&A and ask anything or everything you want but not here. Its really getting frustrating. Its third non-development post in here just in one day. Please keep this section for our developers only to post their threads. If you are starting a new thread here, make sure you are developing something. Don't just come here and post or ask just anything. I am saying this just to keep this part of XDA clean and easy to access.
And PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE use SEARCH functions before you post your issues or queries. I, like most of other fellow members, want XDA to be simple without having to go through all this.
Please think where you are posting and what you are posting.
Thanks

that's because there is no RUU. Your hboot version too high.
If you bothered to spend the time learning rather than clogging up the forums with silly threads you would know that.

Your best bet is. If you still have that backup, boot into custom recovery and do a full wipe of your phone "System\data\cache\" (Not internal storage).
Then boot into fastboot and flash the boot.img from your backup.
Boot back into recovery and restore your backup. Then flash a stock recovery before you relock bootloader. Make sure you do it before you relock though.

(SOLVED) Returning to Stock OS 4.2.2

I want to return to stock OS, friend gave me his backup of Android 4.2.2 Sense 5 and told me to restore it like any other, after that flash boot.img who is in firmware.zip file, after that flash original recovery, and relock and I'm done. I put that backup on my sdcard like he told me but recovery can't see it. Can someone help me here, tnx.
This is what I have in folder, and what I put on sdcard
Cmon no one will help...
P.S
I delete all files now don't have anything, so someone will need to provide me backup of stock rom or something.

First question, what Variant of the HTC One X+ do you have? AT&T, International?
Depending on what your response is will determine which Specific Thread you need to go to.
However, for a complete stock ROM, try this link

Since if u relock the bootloader it will say " Relocked".

I don't think I have. I am assuming you have S-Off, if so lets start all over again, first wipe, then install the rom, then get the kernel from the zip you just flashed (the rom) and get the boot.img and flash that through fastboot (which you should have on your computer already, right)
here is the thread i followed to get myself up and going and use it for reference in the future if you need any help
