[Q] E-mail help - HTC One X+

Hi Guys,
I have a question regarding the 1x+ email notifications
I came from the iphone world... so I'm new in the android world... - in my old iphone every time i would recieve an email it was shown on the email icon, now ofcourse the 1x+ can do this also -but how? my email only refreshed when I'm entering into the e-mail - hoe can i recieve email notifications in real time?

I don't understand what you mean? Email does not just refresh when you enter. You can set it to check for email whenever. My email notifications work great.

Thanks for your help, but I think that something is wrong with my email settings... What should be the settings? By days? Or by number of emails?
In the sync options I made it every 10 minutes... I don't know why it doesn't notify me....

Have you tried sound settings and changed them for the mail notifications?

It makes sound when I refresh the email but not when an email is received...

i also have this email notification issue on my 1X+ too.
i did set it sync every 5 min & still dont get any new email notification until i open the app.

This doesn't work for me, but please try it & report back.
Mail > Menu > Settings > Sync:
Peak time sync: 5min
Peak time start: 6am
Peak time end: 5:59am
Off-peak sync: Every 5min
Refresh on open: un-check.
if all things fail, you should try a push email client like Maildroid or other apps.

I've just flashed Elegancia 3.2 & was hoping it would fix the email notification problem, but no help.
man..not sure what to do.

found the solution, you have to turn on Auto Sync.
Settings > Accounts & sync > On.
Not sure if this would significantly effect battery life.

[SOLUTION]
So, after having the same issue, I found the solution.
First you need to do is to delete an old e-mail account.
Go to: Email app --> Menu --> Settings --> Delete account --> OK.
Your accont is now removed. Now you need to create the same account, not through the e-mail app but throuh the Accounts & Sync.
Slide down the notification bar, go to: Settings --> Acconts & Sync --> tap "Add+" --> find and tap the "Mail" app --> enter your account settings once again.
Well done, now you have the email with notifications in real time or however you set it.

Did you try to go into settings and enable sync? Only enable one main app if you have gmail. I would go and exchange your device if problems persist

Auto sync wil impact your battery if you're auto syncing all your apps that you have auto sync enabled for ie facebook and Twitter.
