I'm running icScrewed with the stock siyah kernel but when I try and get some cwm restore or backups going, it seems as if it can't mount /sdcard. Anyone know how to fix this?
Sent from my SGH-I777 using Tapatalk
Are you using the internal sdcard option? sometimes for me in flipflops I can use the normal sdcard option to access the internal sdcard and sometimes I have to use the internal sdcard options. I don't have an external card yet but over all I haven't had an issue mounting least the internal one in cwr.
me too
just flashed to ICScrewd and now I can't access my nandroid backups. CWM does read the contents of /sdcard when you selected "internal" sd but that's not useful for restoring nandroid backup....
edit: didn't see the "restore from internal sdcard".... duh

I had noticed that my external sdcard is not is recognized as "sdcard01", so it's on the same level as :
/storage
sdcard0 sdcard1 usbdisk0
> the sdcard0 is the main sdcard and sdcard1 is my 32gbyte external sdcard.
i tried renaming it but does not allow it.
How can i set the external sd-card as the real "external_sd" when you open the main sdcard and find the folder?
Thank you.
I wanna help, but I don't quite understand what you're asking?

/mnt/sdcard is internal
/mnt/sdcard/external_sd is . . . .
On CM roms I think they are /emmc or something - someone jump in here and correct me.
Is it possible someone formatted a different internal partition?
Hi, my external sdcard1 is in the directory as the main sdcard, sdcard0, under /system.
If i go inside sdcard0 and open the folder external_sd, no files are in there.
When using the apps beam reader or hide n seek, it can only see the sdcard0, not the sdcard1.
I tried reflash and wipe internal and external sdcard but still the ext sdcard is still assigned as sdcard1.
I would appreciate any fix.
Thank you.

I believe that the structure for the internal/external files is set during the flash and initial boot of the device, and is rom dependent. thats why I always format the emmc partition, (internal sd card) when flashing a new build.
It seems too often that leftovers are present on the emmc, and are not cleared when wiping in the recovery.
now I'm not saying that this is an absolute, but I'm guessing that if you were too backup your data...(pictures, documents) to PC, and then go to recovery and format the emmc partition, (along with a clean format to FAT32 of the external SD card )...
that upon reboot, the rom dependent file structure will be placed on the internal emmc partition. And you will then see the proper file structure for the external card.
It has worked well for me several times in the past, and with the exception of a few CM builds, will not cause errors. And regarding CM card sight errors, it appears that the file, system/nomedia, placed to the device by rom manager app, will block the access to the external SD entirely by failing to mount. And can be corrected by removing the nomedia file.
I'm no expert, and I'm simply trying my best to help....g
TRY AT OWN RISK !!!!
I will try to do the emmc partition format too.
Thank you for the reply.

What do you mean "format the emmc partition"? Is the TWRP, it's either WIPE>Internal Storage or ADVANCED>Partition SD Card, under this option, there is a number for EXT size and the default was 512 and Swap Size: 32.
Which one should I choose? I had already tried teh Wipe>Internal Storage and format the external-sdcard using FAT32 in my computer and re-flashed but still did not work.
Please advise.
Thank you.

I had downloaded Mini Tool Partition Wizard and now formatting my internal sdcard as EXT4, with default cluster size, the other options for cluster are only 1KB, 2KB, 3KB and 4KB so I chose Default.
I will see what will happen.
Thanks.
You don't need to partition your internal space !!
You need to format the emmc partition only !!
Yikes !!
You are not understanding my post .....
TWRP and CWM recoveries will both format the emmc partition ...
Doing more is dangerous !!!
If you don't understand ...don't proceed !!....g
If you unmount and remove your external sd card, then flash any rom, then insert and remount your card, you should get the correct partitions.

That was a little more understandable. I know what he is saying.
Thank you all. It's fixed. Used mini partition tool.

My question is
can I set /mnt/sdcard/external_sd as my destination folder?
Because i tried directing it to /storage/sdcard1 but it doesn't do the trick
Are you asking how can you get everything you download to be directed towards the sdcard instead of internal memory ?

I think I got a similar issue than you once had and I wonder, how did Mini Partition Tool solve your problem?
My issue is this:
When running the stock Samsung firmware, my external SDCARD was mounted at /storage/extSdCard
I have now installed CM13 (Bliss-ROM) and the external SD card is mounted at /storage/3937-3663
As a result, my restored apps (via Titanium) are looking at /storage/extSdCard for files that are at /storage/3937-3663.
What's the ideal way to resolve my "apps looking in the wrong place" problem?
Renaming "3937-3663" to "extSdCard" is not possible.
Re-linking the apps to the correct path would be very time-consuming, esp. for apps like "Tasker", which has many wrong path-entries right now.
Any suggestions?
hey guys, i want to use a2sd to move apps to sdcard so i have installed linktosd cuz am using stock rom 2.3.3 and when i installed the app the super user gave force close. after that i updated the super user then when opened the linktosd app then it showed the type of partition like ext2,ext3,ext4 etc. i tried every option it says ext partition no directory found. i have tried mounting the sdext in recovery still not working!! plz help!!! am tired of this thing! i want a decent apps2sd on stock rom 2.3.3!!! :|

How did you partition your SD card? What program did you use, what type of partition is it, and how is it formatted?

I believe CWM defaults to ext4. If you didn't make any other partitions, then your SD card partition structure should be as follows now:
/mnt/sdcard, FAT, primary
/sdext, ext4, primary
Try using link2sd's menu to recreate mount scripts, & choose ext4. Also, make sure you're still rooted properly, and still have expected su access.

I recollect facing the same problem.I guess the problem isn't with link2sd its got to to do with the fact that the stock kernel doesn't support ext partition try flashing a custom kernel that supports ext partition.

Ah, good catch! I didn't notice that.
If you don't want to flash a new ROM, you can format the 2nd partition as FAT, and link2sd has the option to mount that the same way as others.

I don't understand. Do you want to keep stock, or flash a custom ROM? If all you want is to use link2sd, you shouldn't need to flash anything.

Backup your sd card on PC.
Do factory reset
Re partition ur sd card in cwm
Start phone & install link2sd before any other application
Use ext4
If ur kernel doesnt support ext 4
Partition ur card on PC using some partitioning software. use ext2 in this case. And try link2 sd now
Pls let me know if this helps

I want the solution for flashing new nightlie each time...
Reinstall link2sd -> menu -> More -> Recreate mount scripts
Reboot.
I have rooted my HTC Explorer and flashed it with Superuser Rom.
Now i want to flash my device with ics rom.
But it requires sd/ext partition.
I have created one worth 1.27 gb on my 8gb SD card with FAT32 partition.
Link2sd works fine with this sd/ext partition.
But when i try mounting sd/ext from recovery it diplays an error as
Error: Mounting Sd/ext
I have tried with all types of partitions (Ext 2/3/4)
But Ext 2/3/4 is not supported on my device (says Link2SD)
So i have to stick with FAT32
that 2nd partition i created with MiniTool works as a charm with Link2SD (everything works fine)
Help me guys !!!
Same problem here.....
I m also having the same problem... For flashing sense4.0 ROM on my htc explorer... i need to mount sd ext. But it is not mounting... Plzzz help

yeah for sense 4.0 you need to mount SD-ext partition from recovery.
I already tried formatting from recovery but it never worked out for me
factory reset should have done the same.

Yes. You can merge the ext partition using MiniTool ...
But why do you wanna do that ? Pico is short of internal memory and you will need sd-ext to increase your internal memory.
Hello
I have looked all over the internet and cant find a answer to my problem. I have a i9300 16 gb. with super nexus rom installed. I want to do a complete wipe with the scripts from here. I have transfered the files to my external sd cards but when i reboot into recovery mode it cant mount the external sd Card. I have tried formatting it to fat, fat32 and exfat non of it Works. I have noticed when i browse to the Card on the phone the sd Card is located at /storage/sdcard1/ and when it want to mount it writes /extarnal_sd/. Can that be the fault? if so how do i change the mount route.
No, external_sd is normal for recovery. No problem there.
EXFAT not really supported. Fat32 is best. You could always replace cwm with philz. Recovery. Its based on cwm but much better
