Couple of questions from a new owner - Sprint HTC EVO 4G LTE

2 questions.
I have a custom ringtone and even on the lowest volume it is super loud?
When I charge my phone all the USB cords don't stay in very well. ie when I charge the phone in the car it will often jostle out. Is this normal. I would like to root but don't want to until I know if I have a hardware issue.

Whats one of the stock ringtones sound like?
As far as the USB port, NO....the cable should DEFINITELY not just "slip out".
I use multiple different cables and have never experienced anything like you are describing. It takes a pretty decent tug to disconnect my phone from the charger in the mornings.

Ok after a little checking I have determined it is the USB cord on my car charger that is the culprit. Every other one is fine. Also the ringtone volume is the same regardless of custom or stock. It is probably me coming from a quite galaxy nexus.

Atrix Charging Problems!

When I'm attempting to charge my atrix on PC or Wall Mount the touch screen response is terrible. I can't even unlock my phone and it's really annoying. Is there a fix to this?!

If your trying to do it on a desk, without holding it in your hand, it can wonk out and not respond correctly (quite frustrating when developing). Also, I have seen this before on my old iDevide, the power/grounding electrical stuff.can mess with touch sensativity. If it is really annoying you, maybe you have a defective unit and so go get it replaced. I can't vouch for what you are saying when u plug it in it stops working though. I have an otterbox defender on my phone.
Just mah 2 cents.

If you are not using an original charger or USB cable, it may happen. It happened to me with a Moto Milestone.
If actually your charger and cable are original, then your phone might be defective
Someone in Milestone 2 forum suggested use of a longer usb to microusb cable .. something around 1.5 m would do

Does your data cable wiggle/move while plugged in?

Is this normal? Im a little worried that it will get looser over time.
The wall charger has significantly less wiggle..I would just like to know if your data cable wiggles too??
Im trying to figure out if this is normal
Thanks!
Mine doesn't wiggle in the slightest. It's as stiff as a priest in a boys' school.
Are u using the stock data cable?
Im jealous now

My stock data cable has a little bit of wiggle up and down. Its good from side to side though, it kind of bothers me...guess theirs nothing i can do about it

I have the same stiffness whether I use the one that came with the phone or any of the others I have lying round. I guess it only takes a fraction of a mm for you to get a wobble. I guess just be careful to always pull it out correctly, just to be sure.
Im interested if anyone else has a lil wiggle in their cable. Feel free to share you guys! Aside from the wiggle, i love the phone

mine wiggles too...
Mine wiggles too. I imagine it's more dependent on the cable than the phone.
I was actually worried about the same thing a few weeks ago as mine wiggles. But I tried different cables on different devices I have includuding a blackberry and they all have a little wiggle to them. I never lose data connection when connected to PC when flashing or charge connection...not sure if you do. If not, I wouldn't worry as I think they do tend to have some wiggle after a while.

[Q] Car stereo USB connector

Hi. I am going to be buying a car CD player that has an auxiliary connection. Tired of using an fm tuner with so much interference around. Went to the store to get one and saw some players have a USB slot on them. Can I use this slot with my vibrant to charge it as well a play music through it. Should I cough up the extra dough for it or will it be useless with my phone. should I just get a cheaper one with just an aux connector.
Thanks
I'm not entirely sure that a usb through an audio interface will give you a recharge current,
I think the usb connection will only transfer audio though I could be wrong

What you could do is use your current charger (should have a usb side) and plug it into a display head unit to see if it charges

You *should* be able to use USB to essentially have your phone look like a USB flash drive. But some units don't like the vibrant and therefore won't work. Also, most head units follow a USB spec to the letter, meaning it more than likely won't charge your.phone very well due to there not being enough current output to compensate for your phone's current drain.

[Q] charging port problems?

Hey guys! I am loving this phone....did not know how much I would love it!! Anyways, I just wanted to check with other LTEvo owners and see if I'm the only one with this issue. I have had a lot of charging issues with the evo 4g in the past, so I'm not too happy with this and wanted to see if others are experiencing this issue.
I noticed that if I charge my phone laying on a flat service ( like the carpet, or counter) where the cord is not left hanging, it will not charge. I've been thinking of returning it for a new one if no one else has this issue. Any input would be greatly appreciated!
I am not have any problems at all.. I would return it.

I haven't had any issues...are you sure it's the phone and not just the cable? If it happens with multiple cables it's most likely the charging port. It's much easier to replace a cable though so I'd make sure to eliminate that as the possible problem first.
What cable are you using? I've went through several monoprice cables because of this. I'm now using cables from amazon basics, so far so good. I don't use stock because they are too short

Yea I would check multiple cords and see if it's the cord you're using or the charger port. I had an issue with my Evo 4g where the port was physically separated from the motherboard, and I had to rely on external batteries and a battery charger to use my phone. I hope this issue doesn't crop up with the 4g LTE.
If it's the port, return that shiz and get a new one.

[Q] Charging issue.. phone or cable?

So, quick question for folks.
The other day I noticed that despite my phone listing itself as charging, the battery was still dropping. Other times I could get it to charge ok. Today I noticed that wiggling the cable triggered the charging sound, but no change in the status.
After that, it got really worrying. The phone no longer would indicate a charge on that cable. I borrowed a friends s3 cable (I should mention that this is a generic cable, not the s4 cable I am using), and thst went straight to charging. After that, the generic cable worked.
I am going to try to test more today and tomorrow with the official cable.. but has anyone else had an issue like this? My worry is that it is the phone. . If it is, I want to exchange it now before there is the chance of getting a replacement with the locked bootloader. .
Sounds like it's the charger to me.

I agree. My S4 charger works fine. Others struggle and have that same issue.

Yea, I also get some problems when not using the stock S4 cable. Seems otherones fit but have a little play to where if I bump then even the slightest it reconnects.
