Not sure what's up, but the phone won't charge at all. I've tried plugging it into several computers and different outlets. The phone was rooted using droidstyle's guide. Anyone else have a similar issue or might know what could have caused it?

Are you using the cable that came with the phone?

Well if your plugging it in have you pulled the notification bar down and checked mtp or something so that it installs the drivers. Is it charging ok from a wall outlet?

I'm running a Win7 laptop, I have downloaded the drivers from the GS3 page on Samsung's website, DL'ed Kies, deleted, re-installed all the above. I plug the phone in with the supplied cable, all it does is charge. Rebooted the laptop several times, the phone also.
It see's my Skyrocket and Note, but not my GS3...
I did search first, as I always do, but seems I'm the only one to have this issue.
It's not rooted.
I had this problem. I had to switch cables.

I tried that too. Think I'll take it back and exchange it. Don't know what else to try.
Will try a hard reset before I do,I guess.

For me it took a battery pull. Had the same issue where it would only charge when plugged into a computer. This happened for me after experimenting with various non-samsung chargers and usb cables.

I'll be damned...battery pull did the trick! Wish I had done that before I factory reset.
"thanks" left!
I have an Atrix 4G from ATT and it is not charging. It doesn't matter if I am using a wall charger (both stock and after market) or a USB cable connected to the computer. The only thing that happens is that if I am connected to a wall charger and restart my phone, it will come back on immediately, or when I plug it up when it has been off, its light will light up green for about 3 seconds, then go off.
If anyone has had this issue or might know what is going on, please let me know.
Thanks
Is your phone rooted? Are you using a custom rom?
If so, try erasing battery history and a full charge.
If this doesn't work, I guess you could be in the need for a new battery...

I have already had a new battery sent to me from Motorola, as with my old one, it would not charge and it had got to the point where it would not boot. The phone was bought from someone else and I don't know the history of the phone, but I don't believe it is rooted.
Thanks for your reply.
Have you tried a different cable? I realize you said you've tried just the USB, and two different wall chargers, but was it all with the same USB cable? I had the same issue, but it was the fault of the USB cable I was using.
I have tried several different cables, all of which I know are working (at least with my primary phone, HTC Aria). I have used three different USB Cables, both on the computer and with a USB Wall Adapter, and two wall chargers.
Also, I have wondered if it is a bad USB port, but I just have doubts if that is the cause. Could this be the reason, or does anyone else have any suggestions?
Thanks again for ALL the help so far, and any help that can be provided.
My USB wallcharger went bad. Got a new one off eBay (OEM) and everything works fine now.

Aria Cord
I've tried using cords ment for the Aria and Inspire/Desire with my Atrix and they never work right. Occasionally they'll work for a few min but i almost always have to go get my "Atrix" cord to do anything including charging at times. Oh, boyfriend just looked it up... it's the HTC wall plug that wont charge Motorola phones, not the cord fault. This might still help
*edit*
I'm not sure if what he read is really accurate. I remember having more issues with his cords (HTC) then what he just read.

I have looked at getting a new OEM charger, but I borrowed a charger from a friend, and this charger had a green tag on it that said EcoMoto, and I guessed that it was an OEM (but please correct me if I am wrong), and it still didn't work with the phone.
Thanks for all the replys.
I have gotten an external battery charger and I have gotten the battery charged to 100%. I have then tried with another USB cable, which still hasn't worked. I am looking at, as I have stated before, replacing the MicroUSB port. Does anyone think that this might be the reason for my issue, and does anyone has any tips for replacing the USB port?
Thanks for all the replays that I have gotten so far and any tips/suggestions that can be given to me.
About a month ago this charging problem started overnight. Using the original wall charger and USB cable, current_max in GCC was about 200mA (instead of 1000mA). Somebody suggested a factory reset, which I did (restored apps and settings with TB). Problem still exists and is getting worse. Till now I was able to unplug and replug the charger a few times to bring it up to 1000mA, but now the current randomly goes down during the charge (esp if I use the phone).
The only thing I haven't tried is replacing the charger or cable, but I don't have another one. Any suggestions? Thanks.

I think it's down to a damaged usb port on the phone. I have pretty much the same thing on my phone since the cable was yanked out of it whilst charging a few months ago. I have several chargers and some are better than others...depending on the cable. I also have issues with connecting to my pc....I have to not touch it otherwise it just disconnects.

But I have no other problem using the USB port apart from this? Is there anyway I can check it? Or shall I just wipe the phone and send it to be replaced?
Mine won't charge at all, and I can't figure out why. Any ideas and I'd like to know if anyone else has this problem.
Try another cable.

this is what it says
Yes. I am having this same issue and I am using the original charger. What happens is, I plugin the phone and it says "Fast Charging", then about 2 seconds later it make the plugin sound again and switches to slow charging.

Had this start happening to mine, figured it might be the cord, but it also no longer works with my Gear VR either. My screen was cracked so I sent it in for repair, hoping it comes back working.
