Do you UNLOCK the bootloader, ROOT your Phone and flash new CWM? If yes, you must flash original recovery and RE-LOCK bootloader
I tried searching for original recovery but failed. Do you have a copy on hand?

I have extracted my Recovery from an RUU File which is from HTC ASIA
RUU_PRIMO_DS_ICS_40A_hTC_Asia_WWE_1.60.707.5_Radio_1.05.34D.29_20.21.30.23U_release_264526_signed.exe
and this Stock Recovery.img has worked with my INDIA Stock Rom 1.60.720.7, too
I restored the original recovery and relocked the phone but still, can't update the software after downloading the file. It updates but stopped at around 25%, flashed the "X" mark on the screen and hung. I badly want my phone to be up to date. Hope someone could upload a latest .zip file that I can install by CWM.

if u flash the deodexed ROM u must restore u previos ODEX ROM state and flash original boot.img
Woah! That's a lot of files... original boot.img and ODEX ROM. Need to search them around this forum and internet. Gotta find a "Asian WWE" ROM.

Hi experts,
I've acciedentally flashed my O2 atom life to a wrong rom, and it was recovered by a rom named AL1.DIO & ExRom.img which downloaded from xda FTP sites.
The rom was recovered,however for the warranty reason i need to flash back to O2 original firmware. And when try to flash to it I encountered "Wrong Customer ID", can someone help me how to bypass the CID check and flash to original ROM?
I've tried on the post stated on http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=293632 but the screen didn't show anything after execute the .exe file.
I do not wish to unlock the CID just intend to bypass it, can any experts gimme any idea?

flash with a custom made ROM for yr device.... then flash with yr company ROM
Go O2 website to download the original ROM. Its shld be pretty simple and straightforward

yes you can make a zip from it and flash it from recovery that is what i know for sure, but i believe it will still upgrade ur hboot. ( this part im not 100% sure)
Yup pm freeza he's a cool dev and he'll definitely give you the info your looking for. He makes the zips your referring to quite often.

If you open the RUU you can find a Rom.zip file in the temp folder of your computer, copy that to your desktop and extract the system and boot images. You can then flash both of those from fastboot

then u should just download an older version of your stock rom and dont update after that if u dont want to upgrade hboot.
i would just download a custom rom and install that.

flash stock recovery image
hmmmm I you need to read root/stock/lock-unlock.You can't install updates from custom ROM.I think u need to back on stock firmware then to ReLock your phone and unroot it.

I am creating this thread because I find a lot of people looking for it in the forum
If you are looking for the stock Nandroid backup of the 4.1.1 with all the updates up to date you can get it from here
The CID's on which this backup will work are HTC__044, HTC__038
NOTE: This is NOT ROOTED
Keep in mind it's the TWRP backup (It's not compatible with CWM)
If you are to flash use TWRP recovery
To get the OTA updates (SENSE 5 UPDATE WORKS FLAWLESSLY)
1. Put the backup on TWRP backups folder (/TWRP/BACKUPS/XXXXXXX/the backup)
2. Restore the backup
3. Rename the boot.emmc.win inside the zip file to boot.img and flash it from fastboot
4. Flash the stock recovery from fastboot
5. Relock your bootloader and reboot
6. Check for updates u must be able to get it cheers...:good:

Yep restore the Nandroid backup and rename the boot.emmc.win file to boot.img flash it from fastboot
if u need the OTA updates as well flash the stock recovery and relock the bootloader...

Although I am not needing this since I already updated and I am not an indian, First of all thanks a lot mate for providing those links and over all help. But I have a remark about your boot.img.
I am not sure if renaming it will make the boot.img work, It's best advised if you keep it with the exact name its in "boot.emmc.win" and flash it exactly as it is since it works perfectly fine.
Renaming won't mess up the kernel file .....that's all same
Just since people are familiar with the boot.img terminology I have put that....

It is a pre-requisite that customised or cooked roms need root & recovery to install...
Im still using Stock rom .245(4.1) rooted with CWM. Do i still need to install .254(4.1) and .266(4.3) before flashing this rom and kernel? thanks in advance

I don't think so. I have flashed a few cooked (current) ROMs with .254 rooted + CWM. What matters is having CWM to flash the ROM which comes in zip files...In fact, I had to downgrade to .254 in order to root + CWM to flash
so to correct my understanding
ROM in OP is pre-rooted but Kernel in OP is stock kernel without root?

Did you change anything in the ROM apart from rooting it? There are some files missing compared to my german .201 version. I don't know if there are more files than the bloatware ones, it was just a short look into it.
