Just got a message that there was a system update so clicked on it and it downloaded and installed
The phone was from Asia imported to the UK.
Updated to 1.73.707.1
Off to see if it's any better.

Hi, upon updating, everytime i use my portable hotspot or tethering, it disabled my data & need to enable it manually in the settings. Do you have the same issue?

I need the India ROM as well.

AW: OTA Update.
Okay then I will upload the 1.60.720.6 as cwm recovery and the needed stock boot.img and stock recovery.img
Both files must must been flashed before you will do the OTA Update and of course you have to be relocked again
It is also possible to get the OTA File without flashing the stock images, but the update will not end successful and stops with error messages
I have tested the different ways and this was the only way to update the system and getting the new Radio Version
After the successful update you can unlock and flash the cmw recovery again

I checked software updates for my phone and detected a new software (as the title says). I've downloaded the file but for some reason, the installation always aborted. Can someone please look into this and create a flashable (CWM) version?

Do you UNLOCK the bootloader, ROOT your Phone and flash new CWM? If yes, you must flash original recovery and RE-LOCK bootloader
I tried searching for original recovery but failed. Do you have a copy on hand?

I have extracted my Recovery from an RUU File which is from HTC ASIA
RUU_PRIMO_DS_ICS_40A_hTC_Asia_WWE_1.60.707.5_Radio_1.05.34D.29_20.21.30.23U_release_264526_signed.exe
and this Stock Recovery.img has worked with my INDIA Stock Rom 1.60.720.7, too
I restored the original recovery and relocked the phone but still, can't update the software after downloading the file. It updates but stopped at around 25%, flashed the "X" mark on the screen and hung. I badly want my phone to be up to date. Hope someone could upload a latest .zip file that I can install by CWM.
Anyway, thanks everyone for your help especially AKA_noodle.

if u flash the deodexed ROM u must restore u previos ODEX ROM state and flash original boot.img
Woah! That's a lot of files... original boot.img and ODEX ROM. Need to search them around this forum and internet. Gotta find a "Asian WWE" ROM.

as always, run the RUU while the boot loader is locked. Make sure the device ID matches. If it is locked already unlock, flash your stock recovery RELOCK and try again.

I do unlocked, flash boot, flash recovery (Failed alot of time due to not for ONE X+ version), now using TWRP to 2.3.3.0 (AT&T/Telus and INTL)
After that I want to flash custom ROM ( http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1987885 ( Android Revolution HD 6.2 ), and flash the Boot.img for 6.x.
Then I not start flash custom ROM yet, and do NANDROID from TWRP.
So is that my boot.img is stock boot? Because I want keep NANDROID Backup.
And now I using HCT__044 1.17.707.1, found that RUU not available yet, so cannot get back from STOCK ROM.
Can someone upload this version for me for the boot.img if mine one is custom boot.img...

If you do a stock Backup you need to do it prior any rom or boot.img been flashed and keep it safe...
are you sure you are 1.17.707.1? can you post your hboot version etc

To go completely to stock you need to flash backup you made prior flashing (if you did any) and flash boot.img from backup via fastboot... Only you need stock recovery more but... I can give you only from our WWE CID HTC__001
If you have no backup you need to wait for RUU

Well, thanks for your help, but it still need stock recovery, without RUU, all is impossible right now..
Any time after updates to new firmware 1.14.xxx.x to 1.17.xxx.x, so the old stock 1.14.xxx.x RUU were unusable, am I right?
I search google also cannot extract from ROM.zip (RUU) yet too...

If you have that OTA which updated your hboot there is a stock recovery, why do you need to go to stock?

Cranium Kernel Build 3 Seems to only work with European Stock Roms.
Try restoring to a previous backup and look up a different kernel compatible with your ROM

now i flashed indian stock rom.When I turn it on it just seems to repeat the "quietly brilliant" animation forever.
i have no previous backup...which kernel compatible with indian stock rom??

I suggest flashing these Indian ROM and Kernel
Wipe data and dalvik cache from custom recovery before rebooting the ROM

I flashing these Indian stock ROM and Kernel and Wipe data and dalvik cache before rebooting the ROM but still stuck on htc logo, after i flash European Stock Rom with cranium kernel it just seems to repeat the quietly brilliant animation again and again. :crying:

Your phone has a soft brick; Use RUU(Rom Upgrade Utiity) to recover it!
Read the following thread! Use this link to get RUU for the Explorer. The one on the thread is dead!

i try this rom update utility http://www.4shared.com/file/T0Xb20N-/ruu_pico_htc_asia_wwe_1277072_.html ..but at the end of process it say "ERROR [152]:IMAGE UPDATE ERROR" and now my phone stuck on htc black screen and bootloader not open..i think big problem with my htc explorer.plz help

not able to get into recovery mode, only stuck on htc black screen with 4 warning triangles.

If you are looking for the stock Nandroid backup of the 4.1.1 with all the updates up to date you can get it from here
The CID's on which this backup will work are HTC__044, HTC__038
NOTE: This is NOT ROOTED
Keep in mind it's the TWRP backup (It's not compatible with CWM)
If you are to flash use TWRP recovery
To get the OTA updates (SENSE 5 UPDATE WORKS FLAWLESSLY)
1. Put the backup on TWRP backups folder (/TWRP/BACKUPS/XXXXXXX/the backup)
2. Restore the backup
3. Rename the boot.emmc.win inside the zip file to boot.img and flash it from fastboot
4. Flash the stock recovery from fastboot
5. Relock your bootloader and reboot

Yep restore the Nandroid backup and rename the boot.emmc.win file to boot.img flash it from fastboot
if u need the OTA updates as well flash the stock recovery and relock the bootloader...

Although I am not needing this since I already updated and I am not an indian, First of all thanks a lot mate for providing those links and over all help. But I have a remark about your boot.img.
I am not sure if renaming it will make the boot.img work, It's best advised if you keep it with the exact name its in "boot.emmc.win" and flash it exactly as it is since it works perfectly fine.
Renaming won't mess up the kernel file .....that's all same
Just since people are familiar with the boot.img terminology I have put that....

My ATT HTC One get bootloader unlocked and customized recovery to CWM and then rooted. flashed with CM11 and I believe it is still S-on.

With s-on you can only flash original signed firmware, such as the firmware.zip extracted from the OTA package.
After flashing signed firmware you will need to reflash the custom recovery and rom zip to restore the kernel.
