Can someone please help me? I am novice (sorry for my English). I have problem with upgrade my HTC Flyer 512 - Gingerbread to HoneyComb.
I rooted device with revolutionary (is S-OFF) and installed CWM and superuser. I downloaded the file from http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1406851 - LeeDrOiD Flyer HC V4.3.0 and copied to SD card. I'm booting into recovery, selecting "backup&restore", scroll to "wipe data/factory reset". At next I select flash zip from SD card and I'm waiting for the flashing process to complete and reboot. After reboot I have still white window with logo HTC. I was waiting for 20 mins and nothing.
What am I doing wrong?
1. Do I have to install stock HoneyComb from part 2 at first? http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1358758
2. If yes, which ruu is for my device? I have Flyer Wi-Fi version.
3. Should I install kernell too?
4. What's MD5?
5. How to check MD5 in my device and compare it to flash
Please, help me.
Yes, you need to update to HC first, before you can flash a HC custom ROM. HC has different hboot from GB.
Similarly, if you are on HC, and want to flash a GB custom, you have to downgrade to the GB hboot.
ICS and JB custom ROMs use the HC hboot.

Hi there i was hoping that somebody could help me out with my problem. Yesterday i made my flyer succesfully S-off and a perm rooting. I installed the custom rom from γ7/19/2011γγROMγ[Flyer] Stock ROOTED Full Phone Support, also succesfully. Now there was a new custom rom today and i wanted to install it on my flyer, i reset it to factory settings before installing the custom rom. The back up from Clockworkmod from the factory rom was on my sd card. As u might guess he didnt want to install the custom rom (that i copied to the sd card), if i put it in hboot/fastboot it shows with the green letters that it is reading the sd card but says the zip file is not good. If i want to boot in recovery it shows the white screen with the green htc letters on it and it doens show the menu of Clockworkmod. Is there a way to solve this or is it possible to install Clockworkmod new again? The flyer is permanently rooted and s-off.
thank u
Check this link out.

so i searched but didn't see anything, so forgive me if i missed it
I recently s-off'd my flyer the revolutionary way, put clockwork mod on and flashed the XXL Sense 4.0 rom and now i cant boot into recovery...i've went into fastboot and flashed the recovery 2 or 3 times and when i try to boot into recovery it just sits at the splash screen...but boots into the rom just fine
any ideas? i can get into fastboot, h boot
you sure you are flashing the correct recovery? You may be trying to flash the gb recovery vs the HC. I would suggest lookign for an older thread in development for updating to leaked hc for flyer. In the instructions there is a link to the HC recovery
this being said if you used globatrons soff install of HC you should of already had recovery and should not of lost it by flashing the ics port
ok...searched for HC recovery...flashed and works
thanks
i had it working before i flashed...dunno what happened to it....
anyway thanks again
Dear XDA Developers,
I have an HTC Flyer 3G 32 GB device upgraded to the latest HTC HC version.
We didnt like it and wanted to explore the opportunity to rooting and flashing a custom rom.
I have done the following:
1- Unlocked the bootloader from the HTCDev.com website.
2- Flashed CWM to the device (suprisinglly still S ON).
3- Downloaded Leedroid HC V4.3.0 and flashed it to the device using recovery (still S ON).
4- worked very well. Now I thought of trying out different roms to see what suites me.
5- Downloaded Flyhigh Rom and got to recovery, wiped cache and the partition.
6- Flashed the Flyhigh rom which stated "Installation Aborted".
Now the device does not load anything, it starts with HTC logo in the beginning then it disappears and goes to a black screen.
I need some help to know what to do now, I have tried to fastboot the recovery file again, doesn't work, formatted the SD card using an SD card reader, doesn't work. tried to install from RUU but it says unable to connect with the device.
I really dont know what to do. this Flyer is my wife's daily driver and I need to fix it.
Please help.
Faisal
Wrong section, but ok. Flyhigh is a gingerbread rom, GB and HC use different bootloaders, just flash a honeycomb rom and it should work, if you want to go back to gingerbread, you have to change the bootloader, theres a guide on this forum.
Have to fastboot flash boot.IMG as well because you are not s off

Hard ware Version: 2
Stock Rooted 2.89
Has anyone else had this problem
I am almost certain that it is OP Error!!! ( as I am still a noob 2 yrs after having Android)
Any advice on how i can have my old JB Rom back on my phone. cause i miss having long battery life!!! 12 hours with a 4,000mah Battery vs 7 hrs on Stock with the same battery.
Try:
1. Run ruu.exe.
2. Flash 1.4 revolutionary hboot
3. Flash custom recovery (either 4ext or twrp)
4. Flash custom ROM like zr3dxl or homebrew.
I was having bootloops and doing everything in that order worked for me.
Thank you!!! It helped. Still
Wondering why that happened. But it works now!

I can't tell you exactly why, but it seems that flashing a complete RUU can sometimes fix problems that result from from flashing bits and pieces of firmware (such as radios or bootloaders) or taking an OTA for an upgrade. This has even been recognized by HTC in their advice on the htcdev.com website to flash an RUU if you are having problems with the unlock procedure and have taken OTA updates, even when completely stock.
Here's a post where I provide some more information about this, but I still can't tell you exactly what causes problems. I have found that once I flashed the 2.89.651.2 RUU.exe I can switch bootloaders without any problems.

I have the Evo V (Virgin Mobile's Evo 3D CDMA) and I looked at about six different guides on how to get a custom rom onto it. Most of them didn't say anything about downgrading Hboot, or if they did they said that the JoupunutBear S-OFF method would work by as then it would be 1.57.5757 (which it now is). I've seen talk about a .zip that you can flash in recovery to downgrade, but any link I have seen is dead. All other methods that I have seen for downgrading HBOOT says that I would have to undo everything I have done. That would really suck to have to do.
I'm trying to get PAC 4.2 or 4.3 on this thing. I had tried TWRP 1.1.1, 2.2, and currently I have 4EXT 1.0.0.5 RC3. Everything is completely wiped. Like I said I used JoupunutBear to S-OFF, and the device is unlocked.
So could somebody direct me to a flashable .zip so that I can downgrade HBOOT and put a rom onto this phone, or help teach me what I did wrong and should do from here?

Once you put this on your sd card and rename it, you will not be able to access recovery until you remove it.
When you have a pg86img.zip on the root of your sd card, and you boot into bootloader it will force you to either update or reboot.
So I suggest flashing a Rom, such as harmonia or butterz sense, that will work with any hboot. That will avoid any bootloops.
https://www.dropbox.com/s/19ovks154yqy640/PG86IMG_JBear_1.50.5050_hboot_GB.zip
Rename this file to pg86img.zip
Put it on the root of your sd card
Pull the battery, put it back in
Hold vol down and power
When in bootloader accept the update
Now you need to remove or rename the file on your sd card
Boot to recovery
Wipe all partitions
Reboot recovery
Wipe all partitions again
Flash Rom
Reboot phone
