[Q] Zombie Driver THD Nexus 10 Workaround - Nexus 10 General

When first bought my One X I believed all that nVidia bs that the Geforce ULP is the holy grail of mobile gaming, but then I found out you get the same results by installing chainfire on most other smart phones.
I now wonder if playing Zombie Driver THD on a non-tegra device is achievable on this hungry, mad beast that the Nexus 10 is.
If anyone knows anything at all, I will much appreciate it.

Worlds most graphicly impressive android game, will it run on sgs2?

http://www.engadget.com/2011/05/26/madfinger-announces-new-shadowgun-game-with-tegra-2-and-kal-el/
Has anyone got that game working with our phones yet? if so how well does it run?
It's not even out yet.
I don't see it on the android market, are you?

In the comments several people have mentioned the S II, and one mentioned they could run THD games with no visual drawbacks.
I'd say looking for Tegra openGL emulator is worth a shot OP.

You do know this game is going to be developed for the Tegra 2 successor, the quad core game.
Damn.. not coming to the xperia play then...

It states that its working on BOTH versions with also working on the Quad Core version ... Happy days as at the moment, Riptide GP is the best graphic game on Android so far...
Does that run on SGS2?.

Emulators

I am no genius but does anyone think a ps2 or dreamcast (my fav) emulator could work since n64oid works well plus the dual core power? I want my resident evil code veronica!

PS1 and N64 sure...but PS2? No. The dreamcast is a big fat maybe, but I doubt it.
I'm sure the CPU could be emulated, but, I doubt it would be at a speed fast enough to play... Proof of concept PS2 emulators have been around for years. I haven't looked into it in a real long time, perhaps I am wrong.
EDIT: After googling for 4 seconds I found that the Dreamcast uses a 64-bit Hitachi SH4 CPU @ 200mHz and a 128-bit 100 MHz NEC PowerVR 2DC GPU. Since the Snapdragon is 32-bit that would pose a tremendous performance penalty to emulate....though 200mHz vs 1.2gHz might make that work out. The Adreno could definintely handle the GPU load..
The PS2 CPU is another beast all together.
PS2 emulator probably wont hit until next year (if it ever hits).
What happened to the Dreamcast emulator that was on the market briefly last year?

Wild Blood released today

EDIT:
Gameloft released an update today that fixed most of the Tegra lag that most of us were running into. I'm glad to see the company responding to criticism.
OP:
Gameloft's much-anticipated foray into the world of Unreal graphics was released today... and it absolutely sucks on the TF201 with JB. It is so laggy that it is almost unplayable.
If you've got $7 bucks to spend on an action/adventure game, go with Horn.
Runs very smooth with ics oced to 1.7ghz. Some textures could be better upclose but is looking good overall and no lag.

With a cold boot restart, Wild Blood runs fine for me. I'm loving this game a lot. Graphics are amazing and gameplay is fun. Really digging the unreal engine on my tablet
downloaded and played very laggy and is going to be a kracker of a game but until they fix the glitches i cant keep motivated to play

I wonder if the issue is just for jb users.

Couldn't find the right enough words to describe how true this is, and taking into consideration most of the biggest titles of Android games comes from Game loft. Just when you thought that this tablet isn't bad enough, game loft ditches tegra optimizations

I doubt so since I've seen Gnexes reviews complimenting the game

I actually think gameloft intentionally makes it run bad on tegra3 because they don't want tegra zone to get big and successful. Its infuriating!

And its not even like you have to optimize that much. There are tons of games from small developers that run on all phones perfectly

I suppose that might be true but with optimizations for Tegra would mean that they've won out a huge share of the market that has capable hardware and they would've already won half the battle

I've got to say that it's a good thing that they had this updated for Tegra, but I've noticed that they've disabled all the shader graphics and sword swinging effects for the Tegra version, take a look at this https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9Q051U1nzjM&feature=youtube_gdata_player and notice the effects when the player swings the sword
Edit;
As from the Note 2 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=avQPCv9ki8k&feature=youtube_gdata_player full graphics are enabled as well, so it's just for the Tegra 3 that gameloft has disabled special effects
like it
make fun
See, this is the issue with the Tegra3 SoC. On one hand you have some great games developed for it (mainly by Madfinger) but on the other hand, other developers are taking effects out of their games in order to get their content to play smoothly on Tegra3 devices.

Wild blood play fine on my prime only 1 core is being used the entire time i play this game. Im on ICS at 1.8ghz tho. Is there anyway to get all the effects back in this game? maybe using chainfire drivers perhaps?

Really, one core? Which CPU monitor are you using? That seems really kind of ridiculous since all Android phones made in the last 2 years have 2 cores. The only devices that I know of that's come out in the last year that has a single core is the Intel based ones.
Anyone know if Wild Blood supports sixaxxis/ps3 controller natively? I recently downloaded Dungeon Hunter 3 and it works flawlessly with a PS3 Controller (i'm not rooted!). Thanks in advance for anyone who answers!

I've got a Logitech F710 that works with most games that support controllers natively, but it doesn't work on Wild Blood.

Nvidia Gaming - Alternate to Chain fire?

Hi
So last thing I need / want to get my phone doing everything I need it to do is to handle the Nvidia side of gaming.
As I can't get Chain fire 3D to install on my device (gets me stuck in boot evry time) is there an alternative way?
I just want to be a Le to play Dark Meadow and Horn and see what else S3 owners are needlessly missing out on due to Nvidia getting all kinds of exclusivity.

Unfortunately this will not happen. Chainfire stated that with JB google rewrote the whole gpu driver framework and unless he puts himself into some heavy coding/reverse engineering theres no way to hookup the libraries that CF3d used in GB and ICS.
Hes lacking time and will to do so, since it would be a monster work.
So if you want to keep playing tegra games stay with ics, otherwise you may be interested into getting a nexus 7 which is cheap and maybe overclock it a bit.
Theres not much to do tbh, new tegra games arent working with CF3D anyway, saving a few older ones.
Its slowly begin to turn useless, only thing i will miss is probably SF4, now that capcom dropped the plans to port it to other android devices as well.
Also theres no point into getting a tegra 3 device just for those exclusives. At that point it would make sense to get a device such the neq ipod touch to play a huge library of games, tegra 3 ports as well (excluding the fact that some ios ports are lacking some tegra details or exclusives such Sumioni, but in turn you get a whole more).
Thats it, this is the current situation.

Game compatability for Dell Venue 8??

Really looking forward to getting one of these. Will take me back to my first tablet, the Dell Streak 7. One thing that concerns me is being an Intel processor game compatibility might be quite bad. Although I might be wrong of course.
I pretty much mostly use tablets for gaming and browsing so I am hoping to check for some opinions. Does it seem to be compatible with most games? Any games noticeably missing from Play store?
Games I play are Order and Chaos Duels, Modern Combat 4, Gameloft Live! and Lets Golf 3.
If there are no big problems with game compatibility im definately going to get one but if quite alot of games are missing from the play store I might look elsewhere.
Well I am guessing your using the android version. The only app that seem was a problem was the PayPal app :/

Of those, all are venue 8 compatible (according to google play; I didn't actually install them on my venue 8) except for Gameloft Live. It seems Gameloft Live isn't compatible with my 2012 nexus 7 or my nexus 5 either, for whatever reason.
How about games like candy crush, clash of clans, wheres my water, or those running games?

I was not concerned about the performance, but the compatibility, as in, will those games run at all or not? my nexus 7 is incompatible with some games and they can't be downloaded from Play Store because of this.

Big fish casino fails to open on the venue 8. Just sits at a blank screen. I am assuming it is a compatibility issue with the intel processor. I have emailed the developer on it, but have not received any fix as of yet.
