Hello. I just installed the Polish 4.1.2 ROM on my Galaxy SIII and i went on to install apps. I have it on manual because i like installing each app by itself and make its settings etc.
I have a problem though. After some experimentation with many apps until i find the ones i like i now have many pages on the My Android Apps tab. The thing is that when i check Other apps in my library it doesnt show them all unless i install enough so they leave the Other apps in my library tab.
Is there a way to watch all my apps so i can know which one to install? Thank you

Hi there,
Phone: Galaxy Nexus
Android: 4.1.1 JRO03C
Rooted / CWM
Missing apps: Google Play Movies and TV, Magazines, Ears, Books.
Now in the JB some apps come preinstalled. Unfortunately they don't show up in the drawer but when I try to reinstall them, I get the error message that the application already exists. When I go to system/apps, they are listed there. I have market-enabler installed with the market set to the US. I can see all categories and can install the apps through Google Play (browser) on the phone. But I still get the same error message.
Is there a way I can unhide them and use them?
Wipe, factory reset, none have an effect.
Thanks.
I'm having this exact same issue. I'm on the same version of jellybean and I also have market unlocked running. Has anyone found a fix for this as yet ?

It doesn't seem to be quite possible to fix..
I installed the "old JB" release, as in the original 4.1 apps - i could update them fine but after a reboot they are gone again.
Must be part of the security system.
The google play store web page thinks I have whole bunch of apps installed when I only have the few that flashed with Clean ROM 3.5.
I have never seen something like this before, though I don't use the web site very often. But when I have used it, it worked fine.
I can install new apps from the web site but not any apps that it 'thinks' I have installed (the ones under My Apps).
I have not done anything like change DPI or other framework changes.
Update: It's only some apps. It looks like it is remembering the apps for a fairly recent ROM. I have tried logging out of the web page, clearing data for the Play Store, and deleting and recreating my account on my phone.
I have tried deleting data for play services, play store, uninstalling updates (to the play store), all app preferences, etc. I tried editing the name of the device in the Google play store, the only thing you can do in the device list. I also tried running the Market Doctor in Titanium Backup for both system and user apps.
The reason I want this is I need to rebuild my phone and since I did a data format I would like to get my apps clean from the play store. On the website it's one click and move on to the next app. With the play store on the phone it's click, yes it's what I want to do, click back, etc. Tedious.
I did a reset and format data and reinstalled CR. Same thing.
Guess just one of those things
Got a no mark S4 clone on 4.2, perfectly happy with it, got CWM and a new rom on it, its fine.
I have exposed and boot manager and once a day it has its icon telling me 'google play services' has auto installed, and every other day an app called 'recents' with a sort of C:\ terminal icon. Now, neither of these I want, I've deleted them so, SO many times, selected 'dont auto update' and also 'dont notify' from within google play, set my firewall to block anything google when on 4g etc...
Is there ANY way to stop it installing stuff I dont need?

The only way is to build a new aosp rom for your device. My advise is remember that you get what you pay for and clones never really have any of the hardware they claim they do. I think you will find you are better off ditching the device and buying a new one.

That doesnt actually help me at all.
The phone is fine, no issue with it. Has a new rom on it, specs were as described, its a problem with google, and the play store auto installing, it did this on my old S2 and my galaxy tab stock, so its not the hardware.
There must be a way to stop the play store doing this apart from uninstalling the play store as I am currently doing.

Then that will lead me to think it is one of the apps you have installed. Some shady apps like CCleaner will install other apps. I would wipe the device completely and then install your apps one by one until you find the issue.

hmmm. I will try then, my tab is stock with different apps than my phones, and my phones only share a few similar ones as one is work, one home etc...
I shall keep searching for an answer, Ta.

Hello everybody
lately I'm experiencing obtrusive advertising popups, so after searching in my downloaded app list and found nothing, I installed "360 security" and found some apks that are listed as malware.
These apks are actually quite suspicious, so I froze them waiting for an accurate research.
In fact after searching the internet I haven't found nothing so I suspect these apks are malware
Battery control (com.sys.battery.control)
Live wallpaper (com.gl.live.wallpaper)
System Certificate (com.android.system.certificate) [I'm not sure about this one so I haven't frozen it yet]
music provider (com.android.music.helper)
The thing these apks have in common is that they all have the same icon.
I haven't installed anithing outside google Play store, so the causes are two IMO:
1. they have been installed as system apps via an app downloaded via play store
2. browsing the web via firefox
if this is true there's a bad security issue that needs to be fixed.
I use an Xperia L, android 4.2.2 stock rom, rooted

Hey there,
if you are still a regular user of the good old GTab 10.1 - like my GF - you might have encountered this issue recently too.
Google has updated and does remotely update your Play Store Service to a version which is not supported anymore by this tablet, or the other way around, the app does not support our hardware anymore and the service keeps crashing and crashing, same with Chrome and Maps as far as I know.
Well I first thought something is wrong with the ROM or Gapps so I looked for a recent unofficial ROM and found the [ROM][Unofficial][AOSP] Android 7.1.1 Nougat and there was stated:
Incompatible apps:
The following apps no longer support the hardware in this tablet. They will not work on any ROM for this device. There is no hack to make them work.
Apps that do not support this tablet:
Chrome 50+
Google Translate
Gboard 6.0.79
Maps 9.45
Google Play services 10.2
Apps based on Unity 5 engine
Last known compatible versions:
Chrome 49.0
Gboard 6.0.69
Maps 9.44
Google Play services 10.0.84

Well I had a backup from 2015 on the GTab and restored it but immediately the service updated itself and it began to crash.
In the Above mentioned thread there was some1 writing
This worked for me (for disabling Google Play Services auto-update) :
- disconnect wifi
- disable auto-update apps in Google Play Store
- in Settings / Apps, GPS, 3-dots menu, Uninstall updates, so back to v10.0.84....
- in App info, Data usage, disable Unrestricted data usage
- reconnect wifi
Now GPS doesn't seem to auto-update anymore.
Best regards

Sadly this does not seem to work for me. I was thinking about Titanium backup to freeze the GPS but I am not sure if this will work.
Also flashed manually a GApps Version which had the older play store in it but also got overwritten immediately
So have you encountered this issue and how did you fix it?
Thanks
Did you make sure to turn off auto update apps in Google Play store? That combined with the other steps listed worked for me and my Galaxy Tab play services has NOT updated... And it works fine, though it still occasionally crashes, but not every ten secons.
Thank you for this information. I've been banging my head on the wall for a few days while searching the cause.
I'm facing exactly the same problem.
I don't have the "Disable unrestricted data usage" option in Google Play Services Data Usage.
There is only "Restrict app background data", but this one doesn't prevent GPS from update.
In the next day GPS updates automatically to version 10.2.* and crushes.
have you tried this ? : https://forum.xda-developers.com/android/help/delete-disable-downgrade-prevent-update-t3091832
tl;dr create 2 folders at /data/app : com.google.android.gms-1.apk and com.google.android.gms-2.apk . Done that today, but still need to test on the long run.
I tried this and it worked - for a couple of days. Now some apps are complaining they are unlicensed
Well I was able to disable GPS completely but now, as stated above, apps are complaining and there are now no app updates availible and the complete store is disabled, not really what I was looking for. But I guess Google now really fu:cyclops::cyclops:ed us. So are we done with this tablet or what?

My p4wifi is working fine on the latest 7.1.1 ROM and the older GApps. Disabling automatic updates in the Play Store keeps regular apps from updating when we don't want them to.
Disabling the background data settings in Apps.... Google Play Services... Settings keeps GPS from updating itself.
(I'm not sure that I made the settings change in Developer Options or not.)
It might be worth reading through the posts in the 7.1.1 thread.
I can afford a new tablet, but cannot find anything this size that keeps the ROM current with Google releases.
(I also do not play games or need esoteric applications.)
Don't give up yet.
Is this a solution?
https://www.xda-developers.com/unshackle-your-device-from-the-google-play-store-with-apkupdater/
I also deleted cacche from Gps & blocked the internet connection wth Afwall.
Tried the solution of lebaronrouge in 5.1.1 rom topic.
Seems to work.
