I bought the AT&T HTC One X+ and got a TPU case for it. When I go to remove the case from the bottom of the device, the screen and assembly starts to unclip and pull out from the housing. It only concerns me due to, the 1/million chance that it gets wet, liquid would enter the housing and cause more damage than I would like to think about. I realize that this is the start to take the device apart for repair, but I comes apart very easily.
Not really asking a question here, but thought I should put my only issue, so far and not hoping for any others to come in the future, here for everyone else.

Apparently this is covered under warranty and ordered a new one x+ to replace this one

Alright so I dropped my phone and cracked the digitizer. Now I'm sad. Luckily I have experience replacing the parts so it's not a big issue... However, I am having trouble finding a one x+ replacement digitizer. From what I understand, the OG One X and the plus are essentially the same device with a few minor changes to the internals. So my question is can I use a One X digitizer or will the be incompatible. Also I read that the International one x and att one x have slightly different dimensions. So for my at&t one x+, would I need an att one x screen or international one x screen. Thanks in advance for the help guys.

Yes that's what I would do it even has that slight curved glass so most likely it is the same. Good luck

i would recommend you sending your phone to htc and just pay for the damages. Those screens out there are not genuine you wont get that bond the digitizer and the screen has with the genuine and its gonna look pretty bad. You may not be successful replacing the digitizer because you may rip the screen off during the process.
I agree you mite get lucky and it could be a factory defect

Well I dropped my phone 2 feet out the car door and the glass smashed. Ugh! Seems that the phone is pretty new so the only option I can find to get it fixed is to send it back to HTC.
Anyone got any other suggestions? Links? Cause I'm coming up dry and getting it done is $$$.
Either you can repair yourself, send it into HTC to get it repaired or you can send it to a phone repair place.

True.
HTC wants Min $199 and 4 - 6 weeks to repair the glass.
I can't seem to find the parts or a DIY article for the phone.
So far no luck talking to Phone Repair. They don't have the parts. Going to keep looking but if you know of a place or two please let me know.
In theory wouldn't the glass panel from an HTC One X (original) work? They are the exact same size and form factor. Don't know about the LCD (same specs but not sure about connectors inside) but the glass panel should work.
That would be good news for me but I have not found that to be true or false yet.

Pretty sure there was another thread that confirm this the displays are identical as long as the connectors are the same it should work I don't see why not

ok. that is GREAT! HAPPY news. I was not interested in pay $199 bucks for new glass :/
I recently broke mine as well. Since my LCD seems fine should i just replace the touchscreen glass digitizer?
Yep

It's much cheaper just getting the digitizer

Agreed. I so don't want to DIY this one.
Most sites come with an instruction video

Is there any specific LCD I should get? I see some on eBay for cheap but they are unbranded. Are they the same quality?
Sent from my HTC One X+ using xda app-developers app
I would go with an actual repair site. Better quality. Plus you can contact them if you run into any trouble

I know from the one xl forums it's super hard to seperate the LCD and digitizer..a lot of people over there ended up buying both together...

Ok guys I have my first case of body damage. The nice rubbery coating on the body has seemed to "chip off" in some spots, they are very small but that's how it starts lol one spot is on my speaker grill I now have a white spot there where I'm guessing a small piece of something sharp dug into the coating. Also on the side right above the volume rocker it also chipped and it was almost like something worked it way under coating and lifted it in a tiny spot so I had to scratch it off cuz I'm so anal lol just thought I'd let y'all know..I had a tpu case on it when both happened so I'm gonna say that something got into the case and did this damage.

Can you post a picture of it?
Will do as soon as I have a sec. Been running around like crazy today..
Sent from my HTC One X+ using xda premium
It isn't super noticable unless it's UR phone lol!
Sent from my HTC One X+ using xda premium
O and that little streak just above the speaker grill IS also one that will not come off..lol
Sent from my HTC One X+ using xda premium
So was your tpu case pretty loose, that you think something got inside? What have you tried to get rid of that streak?
Tpu case is pretty tight but not so tight that something couldn't get in especially with me being outdoors all the time and getting dirty and dusty lol but as far as the streak I realy haven't tried much other than a barly damp cloth and my finger lol not super worried about it just wanted to let everyone know I'll probly end up buying a new body when they come out with it on etradesupply.com they already have int. Version bit it doesn't have lte radio antenna sadly cuz I would love to have the red accents!!
Sent from my HTC One X+ using xda premium
About the body, was it you back in One X forums, who modded two different body pieces together?
Sure was
Sent from my HTC One X+ using xda premium
Black and white buttons lol its still rockin a white body with black buttons my girl is using it atm which reminds me I need to update her viper rom lol!
Sent from my HTC One X+ using xda premium
I didn't go into details, but was the whole body switching process too complex? Time wise and all alignments and cutouts matched?
Na all it took for me was one guitar pic. But I think most people recomend two or three all u do is wedge it in between the plastic body and the rest of the phone if u look at the sode of phone where the edge dips down is good place to start

Hey,
At the moment I have some minor dints and scrapes on my international One X+,
In the future I may consider replacing the casing of the device,
I was wondering where I could buy a legitimate case and how I would replace the case?
Thanks
I'd like to know too. My casemate barely there cover scraped the paint/coating on some corners of my phone. I'd like to replace the casing as well on my att one x+.

You can buy the one x housing I believe. Also the housing is just glued??

Hi everyone, I bought a complete black housing for the htc one but I cant find a guide to do it, the one from ifixit is not that great.

From the iFixIt teardown: "We won't lie, getting to this point was an arduous and daunting task. The amount of work required to separate the rear aluminum case and the front case was immense."
You sure you want to do this?

Where the heck did you buy a housing for this device?

Good luck with that. Let us know how it goes.

I have a feeling you bought some thing that's not for this device. I doubt anybody sells that. Unless some one damaged and took apart their device and are selling it as parts.

I saw the housing for sale a few days ago too, I don't remember what site it was though so I guess it's not a lot of help. But they are for sale and from what I remember it wasn't very expensive.
Here's one. Would be pretty crazy trying to do it though

Buddy let me save you the trouble. Do not attempt to take this phone apart. I got some scratches on my phone and lets just say if it takes HTC a while to do the repair then don't bother.

I got curious about this housing. I'm not sure if anybody actually read the description. It says Material: Plastic.
I work in a cellphone repair shop and I have come across a phone similarly built to the HTC One, the 8x. DO NOT ATTEMPT.. That being said, from the ifixit tear down it seems utterly impossible to do any "fun hardware mods" like a housing change. This phone has no way to open it other than to open it from the display assembly, and its glued down. The Galaxy Nexus is clamped together by its plastic outer housing and bolted together by the screws inside the housing, which is relatively easy to replace and swap out. This is not the case on most new HTC phones. DO NOT TRY IT!

This is what I was about to mention, that this is probably for the China version of the ONE. The one that has dual sim, sd slot with removable back.

Yea I didn't really pay attention to the one I found I guess, that is the back to the Chinese version. The one posted above me though is for the original one.

So how on earth can we get our batteries replaced in a year or two when we need to, but still want to keep the phone?

Factory replacement.
I dont think this is a good idea.
OP: If you decide to try this, can you make a youtube video for us?
I still do not recommend you do this, you will end up with a broken LCD assembly..
