Hi everyone, I bought a complete black housing for the htc one but I cant find a guide to do it, the one from ifixit is not that great.

From the iFixIt teardown: "We won't lie, getting to this point was an arduous and daunting task. The amount of work required to separate the rear aluminum case and the front case was immense."
You sure you want to do this?

I have a feeling you bought some thing that's not for this device. I doubt anybody sells that. Unless some one damaged and took apart their device and are selling it as parts.

I saw the housing for sale a few days ago too, I don't remember what site it was though so I guess it's not a lot of help. But they are for sale and from what I remember it wasn't very expensive.
Here's one. Would be pretty crazy trying to do it though

I got curious about this housing. I'm not sure if anybody actually read the description. It says Material: Plastic.
I work in a cellphone repair shop and I have come across a phone similarly built to the HTC One, the 8x. DO NOT ATTEMPT.. That being said, from the ifixit tear down it seems utterly impossible to do any "fun hardware mods" like a housing change. This phone has no way to open it other than to open it from the display assembly, and its glued down. The Galaxy Nexus is clamped together by its plastic outer housing and bolted together by the screws inside the housing, which is relatively easy to replace and swap out. This is not the case on most new HTC phones. DO NOT TRY IT!

This is what I was about to mention, that this is probably for the China version of the ONE. The one that has dual sim, sd slot with removable back.

Factory replacement.
I dont think this is a good idea.
OP: If you decide to try this, can you make a youtube video for us?
I still do not recommend you do this, you will end up with a broken LCD assembly..

Ok so the little red trim ring on the battery door is starting to come off which is really annoying and I'd like to replace it. Anyone know if these are sold separately somewhere?
Seen them on eBay
Go to a Sprint store and request/ask them politely for a replacement battery door. I did that when I had the EVO 3D, they got me a new door within seconds.

Nice. And a very good price.
But I'd rather one without that red ring at all. I don't know why, but I feel like it just accentuates the early 1980s cassette look of the 3D dual camera!
Kinda like a woman uses eye-liner to make her eyes pop, I feel like removing the red would de-emphasize this. Maybe it's just me.
Heres a white one.

Shot from my sharp shooter in 3d
I have been looking for replacement covers for a very long time, without any success so far. Of course, there are original covers, but prices are unreasonable. (White cover for 90 bucks? Come on!). Remember buying beautiful chrome battery cover for Galaxy i9000 for 5$, I wonder how is possible that eBay is not full of OEM covers for 3VO. I really dont get it. There are loads of cheap chinese stuff for any other phone but this one.
I bought an OEM battery door on Ebay for $15 shipped. They are there. You just have to keep checking.
I just checked on Ebay. There quite a few OEM ones on there.
Since I dropped my phone (accidently) a tiny bit of the paint has been chipped away revelaing the metal on the front housing. Now instead of wanting a replacement. I'm thinking of sanding it for the brushed metal look. like on the desire HD
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1293207&highlight=pimp
Anybody thinking the same?
I saw somebody to that to their 3D and honestly, it looked terrible. All the little bevels would be hard to match with the rest.
I also have some of the metal showing through, but would like to replace the front so I can sell the phone for more.

i might try it when i get my upgrade later this year, screen protector and mask the rest of the things up with very thin masking tape i can buy....that way if i mess something up i'll claim a new one from insurance but i'll still have my new phone =P the front is actually glued on the screen according to tear downs on the internet
Repair universe has the whole front assembly for 35 bucks.

housing replacement. very funny
My EVO 3D (original black) has gone through..."trauma"...recently, and the back cover seems to be a bit bent out of shape. I don't really care about the aesthetics of it, but the power button doesn't snap back out when pressed, making the phone thing I'm holding it down constantly, and also making it very difficult to turn on/off/sleep.
Does anyone know where I could get a replacement back cover? I would prefer it to be the same black color, but honestly if it were a white one I wouldn't mind.
Thanks in advance!
EDIT: yes, I have searched eBay, but they seem to be extended batteries + covers which if it was a good extended battery I would buy it, so if anyone has a recommendations for extended battery + back case, that'd be good too

Will do, though looks like you may have already ordered one. It does say OEM on it and the reviews all were 5 stars, so I am quite eager for it to get here!

I thought the case for a CDMA EVO , red. Wouldn't fit a GSM EVO. I looked this up when I first got the phone?
I'm presuming from what I've read you've replaced the gold back cover with a red one....
* after looking this up it seems some GSM EVOs (china? and elsewhere) have the red around the camera and a CDMA case backing will not fit GSM.

You can buy OEM HTC GSM back case for the EVO 3D that is red and not gold.
Many with a GSM phone have gold trim around the camera,
OEM HTC back case is possible as in some parts of the world they are sold as red for the GSM EVO 3D.
So like this... http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/ORIGINAL-...488?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item3cc4146830
When I first looked this was not possible.
Has anyone found a site or know where I can order parts for this phone? I would like to replace the back housing and it looks easy and straight forward. I tried searching on google but no luck.
Is it possible to get housing parts from a Sprint store that does repair?

how bad is it, you can always claim something else is wrong with it. Where did you buy it from?
It's very small. I was able to kind of hide the clear aluminum showing with a black marker. I also just noticed I have 3 dead pixels so maybe that would be enough if they don't really notice the scrapes. I got it from an official AT&T store.

Personally I dropped mine and it got scuffed a little too, so much that it bothered me. I was within 14 when it fell so I took it back and told them that it was to fragile along the edges, got way to hot (130°) which I screenshot and the headphone jack doesn't work well with FM radio and he said no problem and replaced it and that was that. It was fraud on my end, and I paid good money for a phone that I wanted to keep in mint condition. Haven't dropped the second one yet but I have gaps, which isn't too bad. My advise, go for it and it isnt fraud of there is actually a problem with it anyway.

I ended up trading it in and getting a silver one. I was completely straight with the rep and showed him the scratches which he thought was no big deal and were barely even noticeable. I had to point out the scratch locations since he couldn't even see them at first. I showed him the dead pixels and also the power button which had this awful click sound which drove me crazy. I just had to pay a restocking fee and was good to go.
