No it won't affect your SD card data...
but all your apps and contacts will be deleted... so backup them via Titanium backup or any other apps...
Edit: you will loose system file necessary for installation of the ROMs... so don't wipe system

Flash the stock ftf file again
Wiping system removes system files necessary for installation of some ROMs...
But some ROMs ask for format system... so try reflashing the ROM

In some recoveries... factory reset is wipe system but in some like fxp recovery 6.x
The is wipe system in "mounts and storage "
It formats whole /system folder. Ur rom is wiped off. There s no system to boot. Recovery will only work till reboot. Once u reboot, without flashing another rom... Ur phone is bricked... No boot image to boot

Installed the stock firmware just now.. checked again.. see screenshot attached..
ooook....
It is possible for AROMA installer to freeze and become unresponsive. It's a known issue/bug.
Now that you flashed firmware, you can try flashing Blue Ice again. The ROM is pre-rooted and working 100%!
The ROM doesn't wipe /system automatically because that would mess up the partition somehow for locked bootloader, and one would get bootloop. So it's recommended to manually wipe /system partition in ROMs which have locked/unlocked bl option.

You got bootloop and fc's as you did not clear data.
@Till: these roms will have no problems to run on locked bootloader. As the ROMs are compatible with the stock kernel.
To revert back you need to restore the back up using CWM. In this whole flashing the zip and reverting back process, you just are making sure that you do not touch /system. That way, you do not mess up with nAa's CWM (its installed in /system only), and so everything will be fine.
In case you get a bootloop, just flash the ROM again by flashtool, or repair using PCC and all will be fine.
Thanks,
Rick

See, the nAa's recovery installed on locked bootloaders are installed on chargemon and charger files which are there at /system/bin of your phone memory.
Now, suppose you install a ROM which is based on the Stock Kernel. To do this you flash the zip you got from xda or somewhere. While this zip is being flashed, the /system files of the stock ROM are replaced by the /system files of the ROM you are flashing. This will cause the chargemon and charger files to be overwritten, and so, CWM messes with itself. And rest of the installation will fail, giving you bootloop or brick.
The kamarush ROM, which is supported on locked bootloader, takes care that it doesn't replace the /system. Thus, nAa's CWM remains intact, and you can successfully flash the ROM.
Thanks,
Rick

Not true. Before installing the ROMs, you NEED to wipe /system. You can do it via CWM (Mounts and storage, wipe /system, /cache and /data. Then Wipe dalvik cache in advanced settings). Otherwise, you'll end up with a lot of fc.

When you are doing a /system wipe using CWM, then CWM knowd how to protect itself. It will not delete the contents of /bin and /xbin files.

Yea. Right. You are correct. In the first post where I mentioned not touching /system, I meant that the ROMs which have been made to work with locked bootloader make sure that they do not touch the /system. The zip files have no instruction about clearing data. So all data has to be cleared manually using CWM, and nAa is clever enough to make sure that his CWM knows how to protect itself. . (I sometimes so badly wish that I had the brains of Kamarush and nAa. I could look at the smali code and know what it means. With my current brain, I have to spend a whole week to figure out what's what, and then editing is a separate story ).
Thanks,
Rick

Yo HAVE to wipe /system, because the current system will conflict with the new system.
In nAa CWM you wipe the whole /system (with /bin and /xbin) while it's running, and after wipe if you restart you will stuckat SONY logo, so don't reboot just install from zip. It will start Aroma installer and before the installation you have. to choose the locked bootloader version. It will install the ROM with nAa's CWM and now you can reboot and enjoy the ROM.

0. Get ROOT and install CWM. -> Only for Locked Bootloader
1. You must do a Full Wipe in CWM (System/Data/Cache/Dalvik-Cache)!
2. Copy the ROM to your SDCard
3. Flash ROM in the Recovery
4. Reboot & enjoy
5. First boot is loooooong
I don't get it in no. 1
I already told you. Start CWM Recovery on boot. Go to "Mounts and storage" and format /system, /data and /cache. Then go back, head to advanced settings and clear dalvik cache. Then install zip.

Here's what he meant.
You just clear everything (in kamarush's thread it's mentioned) and then you do not go for a re-boot. You directly choose the zip you downloaded. Now the zip will ask you if you have locked bootloader or not. If you select locked bootloader, the ROM installation will start with the installation of CWM (which you had cleared along with everything else), and then rest of the ROM will get installed. Then reboot, and everything will be fine.
Thanks,
Rick

I can't agree on this point. You are using CWM to flash the zip, so CWM is still there
Which is the best way to delete all stupid files? I mean files from previous rom. If i do all wipe the files are still there. My free memory on my Sola 95 MB! How can i do? Hi...
Not sure bootloader unlocked or not, have something to do with flashtool
You can flash a stock rom and a stock kernel with flashtool without unlocking your bootloader,
BUT you CANNOT flash custom roms and custom kernels with locked bootloader!
So youre right you move rom to sd, you reboot recovery mode; then you wipe factory default, wipe cache,
then you reboot recovery mode install zip from sd card select your rom and wait
IF the wipe erase the rom from sd card (wich i really don t think so) then you install flashtool
and you flash rom from it but the rom that you gonna flash with that soft has to be a .ftf file
but you not there do the first step then tell me what happens

Are you sure you followed all the steps properly and you chose Xperia mini? Try it again
0. Locked Boot Loaders should Install CWM
1. Reboot to cwm.
2. Wipe data/factory reset.
3. Wipe cache partition.
4. Wipe dalvik cache under advanced menu.
5. Format data under mount and storage menu.
6. Format system under mount and storage menu.
7. Format cache under mount and storage menu.
8. Install zip from sd card.
9. Follow the steps in aroma installer to install the rom.
10. Untick Reboot Device when installation completed.
11. Go back to CWM & Reboot from there.
12. When System boots up go to Developer Option & Tick "Force GPU Rendering".
13. Active Users Flash Home_Key fix from Addon Section
Note: After installation, first boot may take several minutes (to create cache, dalvik cache etc.) to start your device. Leave your device for 20-30 minutes to settle down the rom. Also at first boot you may notice a high ram usages (less free ram). It is natural because android system occupy a lot of memory while settling down the new rom. After 30-40 minutes reboot your device and you are now ready to fly with your newly installed rom.

Yes i've selected it. And it still doesn't work. Any help? I really want to use that rom so bad.
Did you flash the kernel Included (or recomended) for your rom? because if you are stuck at a sony logo it seems to me that you still have stock kernel.
Edit: it seems that you have just hot boot the first kernel with recovery so when you boot again it just revert to stock Kernel.
That would explain why you can't access to recovery the second time.
You need to really flash the kernel:
1. Turn your phone off
2. Plus the usb Cable in While pressing volume up.
3. "fastboot flash boot boot.img" If you use fastboot in command line or "Select Kernel to Flash" button if you use fastboot in Flashtool.
Edit2: Ok I just realised that you have Locked bootloader so what i just told you won't work. Sorry.
Did you really follow step 10 and 11 and chose "reboot to system"?
The only thing I can think of would be to unlock your bootloader using mihahn thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1879750 and then install a custom kernel.

yeah i've never seen a feedback from people that's using the zelly cream rom with a stock kernel, maybe the problem is with the stock kernel. Now i'll try some other custom roms out there maybe they'll work with the stock kernel and a locked bootloader.
Thanks for the support guys!

Hi, the first time i tried this i only wiped data/factory reset and nothing else, so when i rebooted from recovery mode i got stuck at sony logo. Took me some time to fix everything (flash stock ICS on device, root phone and install cwm again).
Now i did all this:
Now when i rebooted from CWM (recovery mode) the sony logo appears for about 10 sec, than disappears for about 5-10 sec, and it's doing this over and over again for about 10min now.
Any ideas ?

Why did you flash the active user home button fix? It's for Xperia active st17 users! I guess that's the problem
Reinstall the rom like you did before and don't flash the active fix! It should work fine

I actually didn't do that, because when i reboot from CWM (after installing rom) that's where the sony logo flashes in about 10s intervals.
unable to install custom rom
Hi guys..Currently I'm using "Sony Ericsson Xperia Mini Pro".I have rooted my phone by "Flash Tool" for Sony, I also unlocked my bootlocker too that time.
After the rooting process has been finished I have installed "ROM manager" from Play Store. Then I install "CWM v5.0.2.7" via ROM manager. But the whole problem is that now i can't istall custom ROM for my device. Because in the CWM recovey menu it is showing "Xperia Arc[v03] {ICS}".
I am able too wipe factory data, cache and delvik cache, it is also showing installation process of custom rom. After the installation process completed, my phone is not booting into Custom Rom. Its repeatedly showing sony icon, then it is automatically rebooting. I took back up for my phone also, and I can also recover from that. Also I tried "X-parts" app from play store, and installed cwm for xperia 2011 series. But the same "Xperia Arc" is showing till now.
note: I followed all the steps[/B]
This is a flashable Stock 14.1.B.1.510 Taiwan rom. It is Deodexed and rooted. Install it in CWM. You can use this as a base for your rom. No need to ask. Share it and modify it and lets start some custom roms.

First unlock your bootloader then flash via fastboot this kernel. When booting press volume up and you are in recovery.

can i flash 475 HK ?
Will it wipe DATA and/or Internal Storage ?
I tried to flash, but the program said "waiting for device".
What does this mean, I don't have unlock bootloader? or I'm on 475?

yes you need to have unlocked bootloader ( make sure you backup TA before unlocking ) then flash this recovery and flash the rom in cwm.

Okay so here's a solution
1. Download flashtool first from here
2. Download ICS stock ftf from here
3. Now flash the ftf to your phone in FlashMode, when connected to PC
if any further query, let me know

Download the rom again and transfer it to your phone. Flash the kernel from inside the rom.zip, then flash the rom after performing wipe data/factory reset and wipe cache

The kernel is the boot.img inside the zip. If you want to know how to flash it, check my guide on how to install a custom rom/kernel
And you could do the following:
1. Open the zip
2. Go to META-INF/com/google/android/
3. Open the updater-script using notepad ++
4. Delete the first 3 lines saying "assert getprop"
5. Save it and repack the zip
6. Flash it
Maybe it works then! :good:
