I have been trying to install the stock Motorola Razr camera and gallery apps on CM10 and CM10.1 builds but with no luck. The camera app installs but everytime I open it, it says "Unfortunately, Camera has stopped.". The gallery app won't even install. I have tried various things including:
- pushing it to /system/app, changing permissions and rebooting
- pushing it to /system/app, changing permissions and installing through a root browser
- installing like a third party app
But the result is the same every time. I have tried both the odexed (with the correponding odex files) and the deodexed versions. Have also tried the camera and gallery files from Razr M ICS and JB firmwares, but the result is always the same.
The 4.2 Camera as well as third party apps (Camera360, Camera ZoomFX, etc) all work fine (no high-res widescreen option available though). Can anyone help me here please?
I think you can't install stock camera on any non.blur ROM. Anyway, you always need the libraries, (on /system/lib) but probably you'll also need the framework, so it's not possible to have Blur camera on non-blur ROMs. (Maybe it is/will be possible thanks to the devs, but will not be easy)

Is there any way to flash the AOSP apps to replace the Samsung stock apps either through CWM or Root Explorer?
One thing I did was I tried just replacing MMS. apk and Omacp.apk but it would freeze and then close after i tried to open a conversation, so just replacing the apks don't seem to work.

The Samsung apps require the Touchwiz framework, the AOSP apps require the AOSP framework. Running one on the other would likely require some significant modifications to the apps or framework files.
Ah, I see now. Thanks for the information!
Is there a way to get the aosp browser to TW rom?
I have extracted it from CM rom and put in in system/app folder and change permissions & reboot, well didn't work. I also tried to install it normally but there was error parsing the package.
So how can I get it to work or is it even possible?
I also uninstalled Samsung's browser before I tried to get it work.
Edit: I successfully installed it as a system app. Unfortunately it fc's every time I start it when it tries to sign in to Google sites with my account. So it is unusable for now...
Bump
It needs to be compiled from source to work with the tw framework but we can't compile the tw framework because there are no sources.
Or in simpler terms, no

Hi guys. My issue is that I was trying out an alternate camera for my rooted A116 and I accidentally ended up downloading and flashing the wrong version (which isn't compatible with this device) and the camera fc'd on launch.
But I had taken precautions and made a Titanium Backup of my old Gallery.
.
Since I couldn't restore the old gallery directly due to the apk having a different name (it was a 4.3 apk) I had to manually go and delete it using root explorer. But I accidentally ended up deleting other files similar to gallery, which I suspect are related to the camera. That's it I screwed up.
Even after restoring the old gallery all I get is a very laggy gallery and no camera application (will not launch from gallery or lockscreen either) same result with trying to flash stock gallery downloaded from this forum.
I even tried flashing the 4.1 gallery but same result. Every time I get a laggy and a buggy gallery and no camera app.
Also tried installing 3rd party camera and gallery apps from the play store. All of them showed error and failed to launch camera and the gallery was the same... Slow and buggy
So can anyone please help me get back CAMERA+4.2 gallery?
I'm on Android version 4.2.2 which should be the latest available on the device.
Thanks! :'(

will suggest you to take a backup of your application & sms ( app backup & restore , sms backup & restore) and contacts and reflash the ROM as no one will be able to blindly guess which all apks you deleted.

I deleted the files in system/app which had a gallery icon and had similar names (like you could tell they are related to gallery/camera)
If anyone with stock camera can give a screenshot of their system/app root browser I can point out the missing apks.
EDIT: In the worst case scenario does anyone have a flashable zip that will allow me to go back to stock easily and maintain root? Of not what I'd the safest and the easiest way?

Hello
My camera app is version 2.2.1.A.0.10 and i want to a newer camera version. But if I try to install some camera apks it just show :"App cannot be instaled".
So I tried istall apk as system app with root (put apk file into root/system/app folder (I've installed Selfie portrait or Camera Pro this way)). I uninstall my camera app, reset my phone and check camera app. The new version was installed but when i wanted to open it, it just showed:" Unkown error". So i came back to older camera version (i backup it).
Does anyone know how to install newer camera version ?
have a nice day

Dude don't play with that stuff... Camera version is device generic only !! Last time I did this on my xz , it was the last time I was ever able to use the camera
