CyberICS 4.0
CyberICS - the future of ICS.
I found a lot of good features in CM10 and back-ported some of them into CM9 keeping it with current functions of Cyanogenmod.
The ROM is based on GenetICS 9.1.7 source and will come with all features of it.
From now on my ROMs will be only ODEXED. It is needed because lack of space in /cache partition. To upgrade from DEODEXED versions it's recommended to wipe /system and /cache partiotions.

Report your experience about this rom, thank you
As original ROM (9.1.5), it reboots many times during and after first installation.
I do full wipe and I try 3 recovery (cwm, amonra and twrp).
Did you happen to put the Stk.apk in system/app?

You are saying that you have reboots on this deodexed version or on original? Because I am using deodexed for about 12h and had no reboots.
Flashed it through cwm 5.0.2.0.

Didn't have reboot problems on 9.1.4 and don't face it on 9.1.5. Maybe it's kernel related somehow. I'm using this. Try if it helps
reboot problem in ics rom its due to the ram.when you are out of ram phone reboot.i always have 250mb free ram and no reboot ever.only reboot when i disable wifi hotspot which is i thing rom problem.

DEODEXED GenetICS 9.1.5
Now we can say goodbye to GB (CM7) and use for daily modern Android ICS
Originally GenetICS 9.1.5 comes ODEXED, like stock roms.
It can give some performance on booting, but takes away capability to edit rom of theme it.
The other advantage of this DEODEXED ROM - it is upgradable from previous GenetICS versions( 9.1.4; 9.1.3; 9.1.2 etc.) without wiping anything.

You know what would really top off your thread... it could also become a repo of requested past versions of HepHappy's ROMs!
Gotta fix the spelling in the title though.

Got reboot last night on candied ice kernel. Slept good. 5% battery drain in 8 hours with wifi set to never sleep. Heavy display drain. 15% in 40 min browsing forums.
Update: Heavy browser usage this morning, trying to replicate the reboot. No reboot.
Genetics 9.1.5.1 with 2.5.9 kernel.
Data usage is not being recorded. Adjustable tabs keep resetting to January 7-14,2013. I don't recall this with previous kernel.
Edit: Got another reboot. Everything slowed down in browser. Could not get to catlog in time to record. Next time maybe.

Thank you both for a detailed reports about v2.5.9 (2012.12.04).
@ibub
Yes it huge battery drain on usage but perfect deep sleep.
About wifi problem, I didn't noticed this because I always turn off wifi when I don't use it. Can someone confirm this issue?
Data usage and sometimes even battery usage don't work properly for me too.
It's only test version so we should wait for stable release from DJNoXD. I will report him about these bugs.
@ashishv
High RAM usage problem really exists. I'm having around 300 MB with no apps opened...
@everybody
Now I have flashed caf-p500-20121118_1418.zip by thachtunganh.
It uses only 150 MB of RAM. Didn't encounter reboots yet
So please try this kernel too, especially the battery life.

i'm assuming that you are talking about the status bar. it works but it's very finicky. you just have to hit the right spot. keep trying.
fm radio and theme manager (sony launcher > desktop > menu > theme) keep crashing. also, digital clock widget is not working properly; the last digit is so small that you almost can't see it. very minor issues. overall, the rom seems to be performing very well. super fast, super smooth. my main concern when i'm choosing a rom for the mini pro is battery life. i will try to report back tomorrow night after a full discharge cycle to give you my impression.
here are a couple screen shots for those of you wondering what the rom looks like (obviously, i'm using the sony launcher as opposed to the regular launcher).
edit: theme manager works, as long as you access it through the launcher.

They are ril objects pulled from the i9100 roms. In my area with stock ones my DL speed are 4mbps max. Once I changed these and rebooted..... I'm up to 7.5mbps max.
No bloat apps were removed. User can delete them. Just wanted to provide a close to stock experience. The rest are for devs.
Thanks, going to try this out right now!
This rocks! I was bouncing around whether or not to try the KJ4 leak for a while now, but now you've already tweaked it a bit I may definitely take a it for a spin soon!
Any comparisons on battery life vs stock? I'm just curious if you've seen any noticeable difference or not.
This has KJ4 modem? Are you getting good results with it in Maine ?

This is really smooth and fast. Excellent job.
Here is a digital battery mod (green to 40%, then yellow until 20% then red to 0%).
Running well, however I have experienced some lag/delay and slight choppiness and quite a bit of heat. Other than that, running well!
The 5 Button Home mod works too!

There shouldn't be...
Well so far everything seems to be working. had a few FC's after restoring my apps with titanium backup but after repairing permissions it seems to have subsided. ROM is super fast and very responsive, on par with Cyanogen's stuff... it reminds me of UnNamed, in that a lot of the features I've come to expect and like from that ROM are integrated into here. I like a lot of what this has to offer. I'll keep testing and reporting as I go.
Only gripes I have is for the 14 toggle mod. I personally don't care for it. but w.e. doesn't hurt me one way or the other. Thanks again for the ROM and your time.
EDIT: How long till we have a MattedBlues theme for this baby?
UnOriginal
Based on UnNamed 1.3.2, the original thread is here.
Intents and Purposes
- Minimal: only 135MB!
- Battery Life: I will always go for battery life over performance or graphics, in some cases even functionality.
- Fast: Because of it's minimalist nature, the ROM is very smooth and apps open quickly.
- Feature-rich: I intend to add new features, such as: swipe to clear notifications, ICS animations, and more.

Power Usage of each hardware component (Credit to Droidphile)
AMOLED Display: Average - 370mW. Full white background, 1% brightness - 450mW. Full white background, 100% brightness - 960mW. So roughly every percentage of brightness increased accounts to additional 5.2mW. (Now we know why using dark wallpapers and reducing brightness is so important than undervolting).
Illuminated capacitive buttons - 40mW
Led lamp next to camera - 1.3W
Camera - 700mW
Bluetooth and GPS - 110 to 180mW (Really?!)
2G to 3G switching - 800mW for 8 seconds. (This is no h/w component, but we should know)
CPU 1.4 Ghz full load, 100% brightness - 4W+
CPU 1.4 Ghz average - 3.2W
CPU 1.6 Ghz full load - 5.9W (Forget Ocing to 1600mhz)
BLN - 200mW during suspend state opposed to deep sleep 8mW without BLN.
Wifi download - 1.51W
2G download - 1.598W
2G upload - 853mW
3G download - 1.603W

Thanks for the chuckle. That's a hard feat.
If the total number of shoman is infinite , x must equal the number of shoman carried over from the previous version. Y then represents the number of shoman that are divisible by pie. Therefore the number 94 is inadequate to represent the total number of shoman. 64 is a much more adequate number.
One shoman to rule them all.

Welcome to VanirAOSP. Our mission is to deliver a clean optimized version of Android with subtly improved versions of the features you love to as many devices as possible. we've tried to incorporate and improve our features in a way that makes them more cohesive to improve the overall user experience while correcting any performance regressions and improving functionality..
What to expect:
- This is not a McCopy ROM. What goes into our build is well thought-out and not a bunch of stuff duck taped together because we could.
- maximum optimization. We do our research. We test hard. We build -fstrict -O3 globally and include a massive array of code optimizations and memory leak fixes that we write ourselves and eventually submit to AOSP or Linaro.
- originality in our source. We generate a lot of new commits being features or general code improvements. We are open source to share and improve the community but we also try to make sure we offer a unique experience.
- aesthetics.. hopefully in your opinion
General features:
stock mode - ability revert to stock AOSP code with the exception of a few custom features we chose to keep active
enhanced performance.. longer uptime with less slowdown
custom written CRON and init.d.
UI and graphics improvements
custom navbar, navring, and hardware key features
halo (active display & lockscreen notifications are in review)
usability improvements like power reboot menu and sound
animation control
Improved Vanir keyboard
CM's profiles & quicksettings
additional quicksetting tiles
immersive mode
statusbar mods
clock & battery mods
lockscreen blur and other mods
soon to come -> quick cam and flash notifications
busybox, embedded root, init.d, cron etc
yatta yatta yatta
more to come when i feel like updating the op

Not quite up to date with AOSP fixes. But does the navbar still go mental in full screen vids?
Excited to try this

Yeah, not sure why.
After installing the ROM my Internal Storage is now encrypted. Why?
**Internal Storage will no longer mount after installing B66-Commotio-m8.zip.
Camera force closes on first open.
Tried reboot and no luck.
CPU max and min frequency is the max frequency.
Need performance application to force min to 300MHz and even then it goes back after a reboot with set on boot checked.

It boots up to the bootloader and I can get to recovery but phone will no longer recognize internal storage. Unable to boot or install any other ROM. Can't even factory reset the deivce. Everytime I attempt to flash another ROM it indicates that /data/ cannot be mounted.

Oh, that error is really annoying, had to wipe my entire internal storage 3x yesterday. Press the format data button.

Yeah, that's exactly what I've done and I think it finally went through. Appears to be working fine now.
bugs in the 5/25 build
I have noticed a couple minor bugs in the 5/25. I fresh flashed and I'm running the m8vzw. Other than these minor issues, i'm loving it! Great work!
Camera force crashes- even after trying to install the google camera w/ slim's camera fix.
Advanced reboot in developer options is checked by default, but the advanced reboot menu does not show. You have to disable and then re-enable the advanced reboot option in order to make it work.
EDIT: The fix from the carbon rom thread works to fix the camera FC's. Flash here-- http://tinyurl.com/kbeja8g
ATT?
I just noticed Vanir/Commotio and I am PUMPED. Love your work with the LG-G2 and of course my old Galaxy S3/4.
It does seem that some are having some issues, so I wanted to know if it was safe for ATT M8 at this point?
I know there were some issues putting people off at the moment. But has anyone tried any of the more recent nightlies.?
Is the nightly taking CM fixes? I.e. camera fixed, etc

Camera fixed, adb fixed, only major issues that might be left is the encrypted storage bug and the landscape video bug
This seems like a pretty sweet build, just from reading the OP. Might have to try this.

Has anyone tried it already? The changelog on the miui site says that battery performance was increased by 10%.. with @greatslon's tweaks it should be a beast (depending on how bad the battery performance was before)
Also, don't hate me for asking - anything about the sony camera that was ported to also work with MIUI (posted the link in your other miui thread)?
in his miui v6 sony camera was already included, did you try it before asking?
so i think it will be in his v7 too.. or maybe i didn't understand correctly what you meant??

I'm talking about this http://forum.xda-developers.com/crossdevice-dev/sony/guide-how-to-port-featured-sony-camera-t3169253
However, I didn't try v6, but this hack came out at the beginning of August.. not sure if we are talking about the same thing.
But if you guys who tried v6 were happy with the cam, I see no need with using what I posted :highfive:
I am running the v6 and yes, the full sony camera was included.
Battery life is phenomenal so I expect it to be even better on v7.
Will be installing this soon
can't download it from that website.. can someone mirror it please??
edit: seems i can download it now using chrome and desktop mode..
What is actually different between v6 and v7?

can i flash this from a lollipop rom, or do I need to downgrade first?
Please @charliebigpot
That language has this rom?
Thanks.
@Buns27
It is possible flash from lollipop but maybe bad installation because base rom is 4.4,4. Better downgrade to compilation . 77 (kitkat).
Enviado desde mi X80h(FB5M) mediante Tapatalk
in that case... what's the easiest way to downgrade?
Also, I thought MIUI7 came with lollipop by default.. are there plans to update this rom to 5.x in the near future? If so I may just wait for that.
Downgrade to kitkat with flahtool then root and dual recovery. Flash Miui and make backup. If you use again lollipop Flash any prerooted lollipop rom and make backup too.
Lollipop based miui not released yet. So we wouldnt have it near future

Many languages, it is a regular multi-language rom.

What i did coming from stock LP to get this rom to work was very easy: flashed a kk pre-rooted fw (this one http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=3012378 in particular " D5803_23.0.1.A.5.77_Generic_DE-Root-XZDR2.8.1-SuperSU-signed.zip") and then immediately later flashed this miui and everything seems to be working fine
About lollipop base, in miui, android base doesn't really matters.. ui is completely rewritten so you won't notice any differences! Experienced this from jb to kk to lp etc.. no visible differences at all
Plus, kk for this phone has even better battery they say so why you should be so eagerly waiting for lp base?

Sooo.. first impressions about the rom?
I gave this rom a spin on a locked bootloader. First thing a saw was lots of errors, processes not starting properly. Second was that I can't access the network SIM card that is. I am not sure I installed it the right way though. I flashed a prerooted 4.4.4 rom then the miui v7 after that, wiped dalvik and cache.
how is battery life compared to stock rom
would you please share some screenshots about battery life

well.. i come from a mi3 with native miui and even on the mi3 i didn't use miui but aosp based roms so you can imagine what i think of miui.. [emoji14] too heavy for me, and not having full xposed support was a too big problem for me. also, on original miui it took ages to fix even more simple bugs, and weekly changelogs were always very disappointing, with ridiculous changes and not considering at all important bugs..
but indeed miui has some very nice features (apps permissions and data control for apps for example).
actually i flashed this just for the sake of testing
I've just flashed this but have to say the rom seems stable and didn't find any big phone specific bugs so far. plus it has sony camera and audio enchantments so seems pretty promising (and full drm support too it seems).
but nevertheless think will go back to stock soon for the same reasons i abandoned miui in the mi3 (too heavy, no full gravity box etc )
ps. of course stock is pretty heavy as well, but with my debloated version i feel it pretty good. plus can't use any custom roms with this phone because of bad camera so.. right now i can just choose the smaller devil

Since it's a different system I would have wiped everything and do a factory reset. (Just make a backup before!)
