Boot Animations for TF300 - Transformer TF300T Themes and Apps

Hey, here are some boot animations that will work on our tablet.
Nexus 7 GLowing x
http://tinyw.in/1U5D
Asus Stock boot
http://tinyw.in/yGjA
Android in space 2.0 (in space and falling Long but 50MB awesome though)
http://tinyw.in/aPdg
Startrek Lcars Boot
http://tinyw.in/J2tY
Hubble(Short ..black screen is normal)
http://tinyw.in/ND17
From [email protected] Rom
http://tinyw.in/nTQ2
Spinning Droid Eye
http://tinyw.in/MyZV
Android Falling in space
http://tinyw.in/nNfi
Just flash them in custom recovery (CWM or TWRP) and you should have the new boot animation. If you would like a new one, just flash another one, it will over write the previous one.
I do not take any credit for this, credit goes to its respectful owners.
I got these from here

Nice share Somarani. I decided to go with the Star Trek bootani. Thanks.

Nice though for some reason goo manager won't download them
And first attempt with the lcars didn't work

Ediy: I should say rom toolbox works with it not sure about flashing it though
It failed when I tried to flash the while zip

I put mine in system/media. I just pull the one that's already in there and save it to my sd card then put the new in its place.

i just used root explorer to copy the zip to system/media
Make sure it is named bootanimation.zip after downloading

Very nice, smooth and much better than stock. I like it better than the new roms that have come out also. Thanks for the post. This is a keeper.
I'm still only 3 weeks into android from blackberry but I love being ably modify everything!! Better than hybrids.

Just want to add, I modified the first Animation to have the Nvidia piece kick in a litter faster. As my phone starts pretty quick, and having the Motorola animation run 4-5 times before the Nvidia animation, my phone would start before I saw the Nvidia tegra animation.
Either way, this works for me

Hi, I am new to android. My MoPho is rooted, i tried to copy bootanimation.zip to location specified using File Expert, it will not allow me to write to any system directories or files. I installed Root Explorer but get a FC message everytime I attempt to load it. Any suggestions?

You have to Root your Photon 4g 1st...
Just follow this site and follow the steps to Root your Phone..
Its so Simple... Just a Click of a button you have your Photon Rooted..
Make sure you enable Android Debugging and Allow Unknown Source in Apps settings..
Root
After than, Just paste the Bootanimation.zip folder in your sd card or internal storage.
( You have to Rename it to bootanimation.zip )
Then Use Root Explorer and go into System/media and paste it over there..
When you get Permission Request on Superuser click Allow..
Thats all..
Reboot and Enjoy your New Boot Animation.

I recently discovered how to mount directories with read/write permissions, I did so and it worked like a charm. Great animation BTW. Anyone have others they find interesting?
Can someone please upload the stock boot animation for those of us who needed to restore their devices to stick and lost the original animation?
This looks easy and awesome!
Thanks so much.

After installing your animation I found another I wanted to try out, however yours seems to be here for the long haul.
I've even gone as far as deleting the animation zip entirely and then rebooting, with no luck. Is there some back up that it draws from in the case that the files are not present?
Honestly I keep expecting your animation to say " Resistance is futile".. Any ideas?

Good job on this man. I was reading thru the posts and saw some were having issues with permissions so before I copied over the new Boot Animation .zip file, I checked the permissions of the original and after copying over I made sure the new one had the same.
Worked without an issue and looks great!!

Whatsapp

Has anyone managed to install Whatsapp on their tf300?
Try backing it up on your phone with Titanium Backup, copy the backup file to your tablet and restore it there.
Did just that. It wont come out properly. The app just wont show up.
Ok, how about this - get the apk of WhatsApp from your phone and put it on your tablet and install it. Then go to Titanium Backup and just restore data from the backup you made on your phone.
This is what I've done (just remembered this now, thought you just had to copy the backup and restore it) when I was experimenting with Android on my netbook a couple of months ago and it worked
The app actually checks if it's a tablet trying to run it. Prolly need to dig out the manifest and change it since that has nothing to do with user data and can not be altered via titanium or any other backup tool.
Works for me! (see the attachment)
Here's what I did:
- copied WhatsApp's apk from my phone to the tablet
- made a backup of WhatsApp in Titanium Backup on my phone
- installed WA from the apk I just copied on the tablet
- copied the 3 files Titanium Backup made for WA's backup from the phone to the tablet (obviously you need to put those files to /sdcard/TitaniumBackup)
- ran TB on my tablet, only restored data for WA
- ran WA and it worked

can you do this with a non rooted phone?
Does the phone used have to be the one you want to send the whatsapp messages from?
how do i copy the apk?
Sent from my ASUS Transformer Pad TF300T using XDA
No, you need root on your phone as Titanium Backup won't work otherwise. The apk is in /data/app, but you'd also need root to access that folder.
You'd need a backup made on your phone, since WhatsApp uses your phone number to send/show messages. If someone else would send you their backups, you'd see their messages and would send messages in their name as well, so that isn't a possibility.

You'll need a file browser that can go to the root "folder" (not sure if that's the right expression, hah) your phone, like ES File Explorer or Root Explorer, as the data folder is there.

Got it working thanks a lot Yeah I forgot to install the app first before actually trying to restore data.
@ w3by Thanks!!! Successfully installed!
I think i know the answer to that, but i'm going to ask anyway...:silly:
there's no way of copying my WA files the same way from my iPhone to
my TF300...right?
so just wait for a supported version, should it even be released...?
thanks
That I don't really know because its an Iphone. I never use apple products. But if its an android to android thing then something can be done
it works quite easy but you can only use it on one device otherwise WA bugs you do death with verifying your phonenumber.
if you backup with TB all i needed to do is restore it and it worked - but my gnex was also running it at that time so both devices went bezerk with the verifying your number. i killed it on my gnex and used the sms verify and WA worked like a charm on my tf300 - tho since i use my phone on the road mosty i deleted it again on the tab - but it definetly works - tho ofc updates will have to copied over via TB backup since the playstore wont update it (same with LBE privacy guard - not available for tabs but works the same)
cheers
PS: for iphone:

get the apk for your tab and enter your phone number and get the sms actication us the pin you get by sms and enter it on your tf300 - bear in mind tho that you still face the same probs i mentioned above- WA cant be used by more than one device simultaniously
(it goes without saying that you prolly should install with TB - so you need root)

No luck. The APK Handler said the installation failed.
Yeah, it won't install like a normal apk. It's a system app. It needs to be moved to /system/app, and then set permissions to rw-r-r then go into recovery, wipe caches and reboot.
Before pasting it there, I would rename the existing rosie to Rosie.apk.bak in case you get into trouble and need to revert. Also, I would suggest having another launcher installed (like Nova, Apex, or whatever you like), again, in case things go wrong.
And always nand first.

Did you mount your file system as r/w before trying to move? Root explorer is a fantastic app for such operations.
Sent from my MeanROMed LTEVO using IcedOut XDA
If you dont know the correct permission the apk needs to be,just look at your system apps in you phone using root explorer and match it up.
what you are going to have to do is copy the apk to the sdcard then go into root explorer and longpress that Rosie.apk. it will give you the options there to move it or copy it, do either but do not change the permissions in the sdcard. move it to system/app then change them in there so the change sticks. also in order to change permission or copy a sys/app in there you need to hit the little button that says r/o up top to change it to reade/write.
reboot and profit!
cheers

1. we have 12gb of internal storage. More than enough for anything, if its not, then you got WAY too much crap on your phone.
IME moving data and crap to external, will slow things down.
2. JB is still in development. it is how it is for the time being.
Install Script Manager from the Play store.
create a textfile (with .sh file extension) with the following contents:
Code:
#!/system/bin/sh
mount -o bind /path/to/externalsd/picture/folder/ /path/to/internalsd/picture/folder/
Obviously change the paths to the ones relevant to your phone.
In script manager find that file and set it to run as superuser (Su option) and at boot (Boot option), and make sure "is script" is selected.
Make sure to move anything in the internal sd folder out of it before you do this, it will be inaccessible afterward because it will be essentially a symlink to the folder on your external sd.
This is a work-around, I don't have JB so I don't know if it has a built-in option for what you want.
