Video game emulators for Galaxy Y - Galaxy Y GT-S5360 Themes and Apps

Hi guys been wanting to do a tread like this for a while but wasn't sure whether I could just post the links to the files since they were no longer available on the play store (they were paid apps on the play store) but I have since found out they are for sale just elsewhere (slideme.org) but not everyone may be able to acquire it from there so what I'm going to do is tell you my experiences with these emulators and how you acquire them is your business I'll also place some more conveniently acquired alternatives to the apps all these apps were tested by me on my SGY I also placed some screenshots and there's a YouTube vid also
1.Gameboid-
GBA emulator for android it's a really good emulator and has one of the best playing experiences on our phone since the GBA's screen was small whereas on a larger smartphone the screen is big so you have to scale up the game which reduces the quality we don't have that problem we can play GBA games at there original size plus the on screen buttons don't cover the action as seen below it has all the emulator functions like savestates (so you can save and resume at any point in the game) you can fast forward the game to past cut scenes etc its a very good emulator you'll need a bios file for it though called gba_bios.bin

Alternative
My Boy-
this is free but am yet to find a way to use the screen GBA at its original size so your stuck like that
You can play vertically but that isn't exactly comfartable as you can see
This also supports cheats but I couldn't get any to work though I probably was doing something wrong because when I read through the comments I saw people saying it worked also this version can not use savestates like gameboid can but you can use the in game save feature this app doesn't need a bios file and its runs at full speed just like gameboid
My boy
Snesoid- Super Nintendo emulator contains all the features of gameboid (made by same developer) just as fast and doesn't require a bios file only down side is Super Nintendo was as home console meaning it was played on television so this has to be played where buttons cover the screen but it's still good though cuz you can make controls transparent
Alternative
SuperGNES LITE -
super Nintendo emulator no save states in this version but has good fx chip emulation games like star Fox used this chip to get 3d graphics but kinda freezes on our phone (at least in star Fox) but it works great for all non fx games and okay on fx but 1 thing they missed is the ability to make the controls more transparent as you can see it the pic that's as transparent as at gets
and since controls are over the game it can be kinda hard to see where snesoid you don't have that problem you can play vertically though but again it isn't really comfortable as seen in pic
Snesoid
Tiger Arcade- it can be used to emulate mame and neo geo games it can also be used for cps1 and 2 games you'll need a bios file called neo geo.zip to emulate neo geo games this free version doesn't enable saving also cps1 and 2 don't work properly but mame and neo geo do and since almost all cps1 and to game eventually made its way to mame it doesn't really matter just its free and not available on the play store so I put it on drop box
Tiger Arcade
Gensoid-
Sega Genesis emulator again made by the same developer who made Gameboid Gensoid good emulator noticing a trend (oid lol) works with all games I tried (that's alot) and has savestates etc but suffers from the same problem as snesoid since genesis was a home console so controls cover the game but you can make them transparent
FPSE
PlayStation 1 emulator works really well on our device I usually get 40fps-60fps depending on what I'm playing and what I'm doing example a game like Bloody Roar gets like 60fps most of the time whereas a game like chrono cross (cool game) gets 60fps when waking around but drops to like 40 during battle anyways fpse has many features (there's alot) and recently added support for gamespad skins I placed a YouTube video I made a while back when I was on creeds that's a older version of fpse that 11.4x can't remember the exact 1 that's not the 1 I use now I now use 11.65 but it doesn't matter the speed didn't really change they just added features so it can give you a reflection of the emulation speed
You'll need a bios file called scph1001.bin this is on the play store but it's a paid app and has no free version

[Tutorial] How to play N64 Games on your Phone

N64 Relive your Childhood!
So there is no thread in all of XDA that has a straight up tutorial. (correct me if im wrong ) For all you noobs out there i will show you how to do it
You Need To Know: there are two things required to play n64 games, the first thing is an emulater, and the second is a rom (no not a rom for phones!) for the emulater. lets just say the emulater is the N64 Console and the ROM is the game you want to play
Instructions:
1) first you need to download the emulater for you phone/ Go to the second post for download link
2) put the file in your phone and install it like any other .apk file
3) open it and make sure it works then close it
4) Get the Rom you want to play
5) Then Put the game in your SD card
6) Open up N64 Pro Emulator , and look for the rom of the game you want to play
7) Like magic it works!
Enjoy
I do not encourage Illegal downloading, if you have not owned the game you are downloading then it is illegal, you have been warned.
Download N64 Emulater
You should remove on "how to find the game". That is the piracy part and the thread will get closed. You should say instead, you must own the game and find it yourself. or something along those lines.

Read the bottom text/ im not giving any links to games so im not doing anything wrong, only get games you own
I know. I read it all. This part is what I am talking about.
4) now to get a game just google the name of the game followed by ROM
You should say something else because that is basically encouraging piracy.

Yup. Wasn't trying to be a jackass or anything, just wanted to make sure the thread doesn't get closed lol.
I'm sorry but this is a really pointless 'tutorial'. Anyone with half a brain would be able to figure this out within minutes by themselves. This guide can basically be summed up in three steps: Get emulator app, get n64 ROM, run app. Not trying to hate or anything, but this is just really unnecessary...

Yeah, there is nothing new here but my question is. I ran this using MHL HDMI to the TV and I have a gamestop bluetooth controler.
Has anyone else been able to play this on a TV and the screen not lag and slow down?
I also tried Sonic on GenSoid and when on TV via HDMI it starts to lag and slow down. I guess too much for the CPU / GPU to scale to 1080p on a TV.

i tried this, and it was a little laggy, what i did was overclock it to 1.7Gz and delete everything in task manager, also make sure you have the highest settings, or just change emulaters, im not going to give links but there are better emulaters out there then the one i posted

Really n64oid is the best emulator out there, not trying to come off as rude but depending on the version yong zhang has put forth loads of optimization into his emulator.
I play a ton of games on my amaze and it runs butter smooth without using a ton of CPU or freeing up all my memory ( sans jet force gemini, 1080 snowboarding, and goldeneye, and only because they've yet to be worked on emulation-wise).
As for using an MHL adapter I can't comment on that but I'm sure that outputting 720p is a large stressor on the adreno 220
Edit; all of yong zhangs work is now on slideme.org just in case anyone wants to support his emulators and get the most up-to-date versions.
@Everyone... "N64 Pro Emulator" (https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.n64.pro.emulation&feature=search_result)
And "N64 Emulator" (https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.emudev.n64&feature=search_result)
Are just plain crippled copies of Mupen64Plus AE (https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=paulscode.android.mupen64plus&feature=search_result).
Reasons are here, don't download crippled versions with ads which are just stealing profit from original developer: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1546248
N64oid does not have anything related with thread link I gave as it's independently developed by Yongzh.

Says incompatible, but some of you may have a means of downloading it in case it does become compatible in the future.
thanks m8
I download it to my Vibrant. I will check if I can install it on the prime.
will just copy it from the root (its free anyway - so it not like stealing the app). and just copy/past it on the vibrant and install.
will tell you how it was

Gameloft is dead to me now that they seem to have goon 99% freemium. In app purchases was the worst thing to get on android.
Dungeon hunter 3 working great on my Prime.
I have moded version for TF101 from escorbutopia.
I dont like freemium games but it is still good to play, while DH2 not working for me.

You just need modded version for transformer ics made by escorbutopia.
I dont know if it is warez when I post a link, because its free, but I´ll rather send you PM where to find it.
I also get the incompatible message. I'm running stock rooted ICS.
Please PM me that link for download moddifed version. Thanks
I sent you PM guys, hope they arrive, I´m quite confused with xda message system, I replied to messages but I don´t see them in Sent list neither somewhere else.
And did I mention: Sorry for my English
Have me wondering
The game is free, I liked 2, but I'm wondering why is it that the game isn't compatible with the Sony Xperia S. I can understand it not being compatible with older phones, but I'm guessing its not a Hardware nor OS issue. Any ideas as to why this epic game isn't compatible with power supplier phones?

We don't hit the min requirements which are
1ghz single core A9
512 ram
But we may still get it in the future buy even if it might not really matter to anyone here since they'll probably already own another phone
But Ubuntu is looking EPIC right now it really makes Firefox look old I love everything they did its a new different OS and already has its own xda section lol I can only imagine the stuff this will be able to do in the future when the devs here get there hands on it u can share your thoughts and get links to hands on demos in my sig (hit spoiler)

Lol i can't stand it when people reply to threads like this with - ' we don't have cmxx yet then how will we make this ' . If nobody ever tried building cm we wouldn't have had that either - you have to put some effort to achieve something - Having or not having a source build vanilla android (cyanogen) port doesn't have anything to do with porting other open source os's . There are many other hurdles or minimum requirements that our devices doesn't meet but i can assure you that mozilla have never said that a device without stable cm port won't run firefox os
And yes its possible to port firefox os even - x8 had an alpha port but they had open source drivers for adreno gpu which is not our case so
et too brute !

Is it possible to get iPhone on Android?

Sorry for noob question
yup, what you have to do here is place your love phone on Android device and there you go. If you meant to install ios on Android device, than thank to Apple and God if you believe in one that it is not possible
Sent from my Nexus S using Tapatalk 2
Fortunately, no. You can install Ubuntu and other Linux distros.
Not sure if an idiot, or just trolling
Sent from my MB508 using xda premium
Fortunately? Everyone has different preferences, reminds me of the stupid Mac fanboys who ***** out people who ask for some Windows features OSX doesn't have. You can install Windows on a Mac and with some skills you can install Android on an iPhone so I can't see why it'd be so wrong for somebody to ask this.
In answer to your question, you can't, but there's a launcher on the play store called iLauncher which will make your phone's home screen behave and look exactly like that of iOS, and it's super fast and responsive, even adds coloured square backgrounds to icons like the Gakaxy S/S2. There are also apps to sync it up with iTunes. You can't, however, run any iOS exclusive apps.

This is a very Android biased forum, iOS is seen as inferior by most users including me. I don't see why someone would prefer iOS over Android.
Also, anybody who knows anything about technology knows that Apple chooses to keep their OSes very very closed and we simply don't have the resources to recreate iOS on another device.
OP also asked to get "iPhone on Android" which is very vague. Which Android is he talking about?

We could say the same about Windows Phone 7, yet we got it on HD2 and Toshiba TG01.
The problem with iOS is that Apple uses their own variations of hardware (their own chipset, custom GPUs) and writes software which works only on it. This way the OS is very optimised, so technically weak phones (512MB of RAM in iPhone 4S is sufficient?! HOW?!) work very fluently, I could say they work even better than some high-end Androids. Because of these reasons, we can't have iOS on any other device.

Indeed, unless we emulated the iphones hardware there would be no way to run IOS, and to emulate hardware you require much much more powerful hardware so it would be a long time until there was a android device that could emulate a Iphone of current spec
It would require the iOS source code... you could then merge your device source code and build a hacked iOS rom. Either that or some intense reverse engineering and some hacking. But if you did build a hacked iOS rom I suggest not releasing to the public or you will get sued for everything that you're worth.

It's a perfectly ok question... Just visit my YouTube. I have a video of it done... Most are naive and arrogant to check it out. Of course it's possible.

Yes you can if you're jailbroken, but its not worth it because it will be extremely laggy. The Apple Ax processors are not optimized for Android. Or its the other way around. Android was not optimized for the Apple Ax processors.. either way, its not a very welcoming experience
