Is it possible to get iPhone on Android? - Android Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Sorry for noob question

yup, what you have to do here is place your love phone on Android device and there you go. If you meant to install ios on Android device, than thank to Apple and God if you believe in one that it is not possible

Fortunately, no. You can install Ubuntu and other Linux distros.

Not sure if an idiot, or just trolling

Fortunately? Everyone has different preferences, reminds me of the stupid Mac fanboys who ***** out people who ask for some Windows features OSX doesn't have. You can install Windows on a Mac and with some skills you can install Android on an iPhone so I can't see why it'd be so wrong for somebody to ask this.
In answer to your question, you can't, but there's a launcher on the play store called iLauncher which will make your phone's home screen behave and look exactly like that of iOS, and it's super fast and responsive, even adds coloured square backgrounds to icons like the Gakaxy S/S2. There are also apps to sync it up with iTunes. You can't, however, run any iOS exclusive apps.

This is a very Android biased forum, iOS is seen as inferior by most users including me. I don't see why someone would prefer iOS over Android.
Also, anybody who knows anything about technology knows that Apple chooses to keep their OSes very very closed and we simply don't have the resources to recreate iOS on another device.
OP also asked to get "iPhone on Android" which is very vague. Which Android is he talking about?

We could say the same about Windows Phone 7, yet we got it on HD2 and Toshiba TG01.
The problem with iOS is that Apple uses their own variations of hardware (their own chipset, custom GPUs) and writes software which works only on it. This way the OS is very optimised, so technically weak phones (512MB of RAM in iPhone 4S is sufficient?! HOW?!) work very fluently, I could say they work even better than some high-end Androids. Because of these reasons, we can't have iOS on any other device.

Indeed, unless we emulated the iphones hardware there would be no way to run IOS, and to emulate hardware you require much much more powerful hardware so it would be a long time until there was a android device that could emulate a Iphone of current spec

It would require the iOS source code... you could then merge your device source code and build a hacked iOS rom. Either that or some intense reverse engineering and some hacking. But if you did build a hacked iOS rom I suggest not releasing to the public or you will get sued for everything that you're worth.

Yes you can if you're jailbroken, but its not worth it because it will be extremely laggy. The Apple Ax processors are not optimized for Android. Or its the other way around. Android was not optimized for the Apple Ax processors.. either way, its not a very welcoming experience

Yes the iPhone has light sensors. Of course it does. The iPod touch has it, and even MacBooks. Just because Apple took the closed approach to their software does not mean they have bad hardware. iPhone hardware is top notch.

Lol, I find Apple haters immature. If you look at the history of computing, Apple has played a pretty major role. Sure, I might not like how they do some things, but I respect them and their products, some of which have literally been revolutionary, hate Apple or not. For example, OS X (yeah I'm a big fan). I find OS X so polished that I spent 5 hours a day for a month getting it fully running on my XPS laptop (although I was a noob at the time, the same task now would take me a couple of days).

Window 7.5 mango on Android?

I am owner of Verizon Fascinate. Some people told me that windows 7.5mango or other windows mobile os can be installable on Verizon Fascinate or other android device.
Is that possible ?
It's possible, but the chances of anyone ever porting it (besides Enyo lol) are slim. The chances of someone porting anything near useful is...next to none.
Given enough time and money, anything is possible. I suspect that your friend is referring to apps and launchers that are available in the Market that will give your android phone the look and feel of those other OSs UI. See Launcher 7 in the android Market. There are several iPhone launchers also.
There is a Rom being developed at the moment.
With a full complete Windows Phone 7 UI. Even the folders homebrew patch to the launcher.
Its called Cinnamon Rom.
vibrant / Captivate / Unlocked GSM Versions are Fully Supported.

not that i actually believe that he ported windows phone 7 to the sgs phones
but if he did he ll get sued by microsoft...the only phones that its ok to port windows mobile os/wp7 to are native windows phone
ie the hd2 can run any windows cuz its a licensed windows device and has android/meego/etc ported to it
you are not allowed legally to release windows products on non licensed devices
so............yeah

i've been using JoelZ's unofficial cm9 all day and if you don't mind not having a camera, it has the potential to be a great daily.

Same. Have had some wifi connectivity issues but other than that everything works. Battery life sucks but that will get better as development progresses. Facebook sync not working is bugging me but I'm assuming that's on FB's side, they need to pick up the slack. I can live without a camera for a short time but since my girlfriend lives in another state currently, camera for video chat is a must.

I understand that it is miles behind the Intel Core iX series, but the fact that I'm using it for emulation in an old arcade machine and the price I paid makes it more then justifiable. Got the CPU, a good motherboard, a Cooler Master radiator, and 2 huge fans for it, all for around $250. I'm using the hard drives, DVD ROM drive, power supply, and old ati x1300 from my old computer (the ASUS motherboard decided to crap its own BIOS out).
Don't ask me why I'm still using an x1300, unless you can find me a true ATI HD 4xxx, I need it to display the 15khz horizontal refresh the arcade monitor needs to sync.

There's a reason behind this.
Your phone is meant to run at a certain dpi, okay, so you might be able to easily change it but that doesn't mean you should. The whole per app dpi thing is just fussy. Changing dpi basically screws with market compatibility.
Put it this way, when CyanogenMod were going to implement cornerstone into CM, they were urged not to do it by Google. So ugly hacking of the framework probably violates several AOSP policies.

I know about those things. K900 explained me. I don't hate any devs that think it's wrong. They're right. But, even that, I will wish a port of it. I think the most hard part would be WiFi and phone functionality from a port. Maybe I could see it would work. But no one should feel obligated (because no one is) to port it.

Intel core 2 duo @ 1.8GHz per core
4GB RAM
Linux Ubuntu 12.04 64 bit
I can compile in 5 hours on that o course that is impractical and I use buildbot services provided by goo.im to build.
I'd love to build this but quite busy with life atm, once everything is sorted I'm hoping to get AOSP or a derivative on my phone. (unicorns FTW).
I'm sure it will get ported, its inevitable really.

Oh... Your PC is still better than mine. (AMD never more). And I use Windows (Ubuntu never managed to work on my pc). And I don't have 5 hours lol. I read somewhere here in Xperia S forum that at least 16 Gb of RAM was needed, with at least Intel Core i5... Well, good luck with your life.

I also want a port of it that is kept updated. But the lack of devs (less quantity) and the fact that some devs hate how it work makes it improbable that we will have a port...

Porting windows phone is to Samsung galaxy ace

Hi friends,
I wonder if it's possible to port windows phone operating system to Samsung galaxy ace. I have seen some videos of low end Nokia lumia devices having similar specs as that of Ace. They have specs lower than that of ace especially lumia 510. Heard that windows phone os is less lagging
It would be great if someone can give valuable feedback

Why dont buy a Lumia then?

Porting of wp8 is impossible.
But porting of wp7 would be possible like on the htc hd2. The only problem is that wp is closed source and we havent got windows drivers which the hd2 for example has because it is a wm6.5 phone and not only an android phone like our ace. Im not a dev but i would say: its almost impossible but as we can see our poor device can even run android 4.1 smoothly.
And before the development started many many devs said it would be very very hard to run ics on the ace and it would never run smoothly but as we can all see it worked and its possible. The only thing we need is is a group of very high quality devs like the jellaxy.

Nothing is impossible. I am running Windows 1/1.1/2.1/3.1/95/98 On a PSP. I am running Chrome Os on a Windows based pc. I am running Ubuntu on my Ace. It is possible.
i hope to see rom for our ace ,make android look like wp8 just like the rom that made android look like ios

Chrome OS -> Open source
Ubuntu -> Open source
Windows on PSP -> DOSBox
Unless you want to make it your life mission it's practically impossible .

Windows on PSP, just dosbox, you can run all windows that are older then ME on Ace too, just need dosbox and some hacking.

I've contacted my buddy Bill Gates, he told me that he'll send me the source tomorrow. Also, he has ordered his programmers to write all the libraries and drivers for Ace to run WP8. So it's possible now.

Go to play store and do some searching...There are a lot of apps that are made to be a look-alike of WP

You guys are such good devs, yet you can't try to do something that seems impossible..And I KNOW its closed source and I KNOW I just used dosbox but still..

You think everything can be reverse engineered ? Besides , even if it was possible it would take decades
Sent from Nortrom's Glavies of Wisdom.
Yea I know, but you guys give such negative reply's these poor people will think there is no hope for their Ace..
