I currently have Mean Rom installed, ICS, HBoot 1.57, and Baseband 1.06.00.0426. I'm currently trying to flash a Radio by moving it to my SD card, then going to Hboot and let it scan for PG86IMG but when it gets to parsing it just go to Fastboot automatically. How do I fix this?

Are you s-on?
S-on users cannot flash any radios unless the bootloader is relocked
They have to be signed by HTC to flash through bootloader
I recommend gaining s-off using this method
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1889438
This guide is very useful and pretty much has everything you need to gain s-off including ruu links for sprint and virgin mobile too I believe
By the time you finish you will already have your radios updated and can flash whatever ROM, radio, kernel, hboot and recovery you want.
If you are s-off, make sure the file doesn't have a .zip.zip double extension. That sometimes happens in Windows.

Hey guys. A while back my phone got screwed up I had to flash the ruu to get it going again. Originally I was on hboot 1.4 rooted/s off via revoked. After I updated with the ruu for the newer radio it now has hboot 1.5 but still says s off. I wasn't able to flash a Rom via clockwork or twrp. So I have a stock Rom without root and I can't figure out where to go from here.
Any ideas?

don't know for sure but IMO you will have to unlock via HTC dev.com, then you will be able to flash anything like you did before . And to root your ROM, just flash a zip file containing superuser apk and binary after doing the above steps.
Also you can revert back to hboot 1.4 ( don't know how exactly ) but don't follow the downgrade thread by unknownforce as you are already s-off
S-Off supercedes being locked. You should still be able to flash roms and have superuser. I was on unlocked on 1.4 with s-off and went to 1.5 showing locked but with s-off and everything still flashes and superuser works fine.
s-off should allow you to do as you please with your phone.. you should still be able to flash w/e recovery you want and w/e rom you want w/o fastboot into recovery..
having s-on in 1.5 is a pain.. but if you already have s-off.. you can just as easily flash back down to 1.4 or even to 1.04 the eng hboot..
but once you're s-off, which you already are, you can do as you please with your device.. you don't need htc dev for it..
EDIT: you might just have to reflash your recovery.. use fastboot flash recovery recovery.img and then boot into it... recovery.img has to be in the same folder as your adb and fastboot files..
I know I have probably came across the answer BUT I just want to double triple check before doing anything. I tend to look to deep into things and make it harder than it needs to be. SO PLEASE DO NOT BE RUDE!

1) I am on gingerbread. S-OFF but not rooted. I have a T-mobile OTA update for ICS. Can I download safely?
What I was going to do is just download that and un-root it the same way I did when doing the S-OFF process. Can't it just be that easy!
2) If not is this the correct way that will work with JUOPUNUT bear?

You have two options:
1. Restore the stock recovery and proceed with the update, it won't do anything but update the system files, it may or may not remove the JB hboot, though I recommend you restore the stock GB hboot since updates tend to cancel when the hboot is higher than the one being installed, which the JB hboot version is set higher so as to prevent any new updates from over writing it.
or
2. Download the stock ICS ruu from the ruu/ota thread and install it via hboot by renaming the file PH85IMG and placing it on your sd card.
No reason to get suspicious, it's okay.

Ok sooo.... Bare with me please...
I locked the bootloader.
HBOOT is now 1.90.2005.
I flashed an OTA/RUU after that, and renamed it to PH85IMG (did not add .zip just an easy r click rename). It went through the upload/download (whatever ya wanna call it!) In hboot
Rebooted aaanddd I am still on GB
I used the OTA from this thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1575550&highlight=stock+ics+ruu and followed the 2nd post for the leaked ota....
I AM missing something. Somewhere down the line. Or wrong RUU? Suggestions? I am going to be back tomorrow to work on this.
Thanks again guys

If you're s-off you don't need to lock the bootloader, anyways, don't use that file, look for the ruu/ota collection thread in tue dev forum for the latest file, rename it, make sure it's on the root of your sd card.
sent from a galaxy you'll never see.
I FINALLY got it ... Thanks guys for your help!

Is It possible to return to stock ruu and stock hboot without losing s-off? I posted earlier about the memory issue i'm having and i'm thinking it's due to me upgrading hboots. But i don't want to have to go through the entire process or getting s-off again. Right now i'm rooted on neo's aokp never flashed a ruu just always flashed patchable firmware zips. updated to 2.73 hboot i think it was today to fix damaged sd card issue. Please help.
Yes, first RUU, then rename the hex-edit hboot entitled "locked" to PH98IMG and flash in bootloader. (You will not lose S-Off)

s-off is permanent unless you use the fastboot command.
Code:
fastboot oem writesecureflag 3
I recently bought my new Evo 3D from eBay. As far as I can tell, it is in perfect shape. I was hoping to flash it to Page Plus and was dismayed when I realized how impossible the rooting process looked. I began with downgrading my 1.58 HBOOT to 1.40. Now I am attempting to flash the 1.13 RUU so I can finally move on in this process, but every time I attempt to flash it (or any other RUU), I get the error, "Error [131]: CUSTOMER ID ERROR." Now most fastboot commands do not work, and my phone bootloops with the stock ROM. Any idea how to fix it?
I used the juopunut bear wire trick for s-off so excuse me if I'm a little ignorant here with the downgrade method. Once you are down to hboot 1.40 (which sounds like you were successful with) can't you use the revolutionary s-off tool?
Once s-off you can easily run any ruu but I guess I don't understand why you need to downgrade even further to s-off, when revolutionary (I thought) works with hboot 1.40 and 1.30

As I understand I can't use Revolutionary without booting into Android (since it needs ADB), which is currently impossible because of the bootloop.
I should also point out that HTCDev unlock fails for me. On hboot 1.58 the fastboot commands are successful, but I am never presented with the unlock dialog on the phone. On hboot 1.4 most fastboot commands fail. Also, I can easily restore to stock by flashing a PG86IMG which includes hboot 1.58.

So far, in every case I've seen, running the latest RUU has solved the bootloader unlock issue for people. I would run the 1.58 RUU and see if you can unlock the bootloader. Then go from there.
Or as I saw mentioned in the other thread, use the PG86IMG version of the RUU or extract it yourself from the exe. Flashing through the bootloader does not perform a cid check.

So far, I have yet to have any success despite flashing many RUUs. I took a break for quite a while, but decided I may try again. I am downloading now the 2.08 RUU, which one thread suggested.

If I remember correctly, the HTCDev unlock doesnt work for the earlier bootloaders. It says so on the very first page when its walking you through the steps. I could be wrong but you may wanna keep that in mind
Hello all,
First off, this is my first post, so if I posted in the wrong location please forgive me.
I have a EVO 3D CDMA (Sprint) phone. I am currently running hboot 1.58 S-OFF (juopunutbear) and MeanRom ICS, with 4ext recovery 1.0.0.5 RC9. Performance is terrible (lagging when playing games and even typing messages), and there are several features missing in ICS that I used in Gingerbread (call duration, message count, screen snapshots, etc).
I would like to downgrade to MeanRom on Gingerbread, with hboot 1.5 and TWRP recovery. I've already done some research so I need confirmation:
If I use bootloader:
To downgrade the hboot from 1.58 to 1.5, do I rename the hboot 1.5 to pg86img.zip, put the zip in the root file of the SD card, boot into bootloader and let the phone detect the zip file? I understand that the file has to be deleted after the phone is updated, how do I do that?
Once the hboot is downgraded, will 4ext still work, or do I have to change/upgrade it right away? Do I just run the 2.17 RUU to reset the phone to Gingerbread?
Also, can this be done via fastboot? If so, how?
I know these questions have been asked before, but I haven't seen any posts with my exact configuration. If there are any posts, please let me know.
Thanks for any help you have to offer.

If you're s- off you can do whatever you want. First - to downgrade h-boot just rename that h-boot zip to PG86IMG.zip and put it on root of your sd card. Then go to your bootloader and just follow prompts to flash new h-boot. When that's done, you don't need adb or anything like that. You can do everything directly on your phone
