I flashed speed from to my Phone. Now I can't go into recovery mode. Try to go to root toolbox and rebbot into recovery and it just freezes and says the "not responding" message..
Use 4ext app and does the same.

have you tried flashing recovery again?
Yeah and it fails...

when flashing it from within fastboot? that seems weird...
I can get into team win recovery project now but the "super.zip" that I need to flash doesn't show up. A lot of files don't show up for that matter. What do I do?

Which twrp version? There was a brief day or two that the gs3s twrp wouldn't read zips either but was fixed yesterday.
However, with the amaze you should be using 4ext anyway. Make your life easier

first off stop what your doing and go flash 4EXT recovery.. its the #1 recommended recovery for all htc phones...
If u r on twrp just go to mount and mount the external or internal memory... I switched to twrp after 4ext didn't want to flash a Rom...

thats out of date version, and do you have root permissions? because the database checks online after reacquiring root permissions... go into recovery and try to fix permissions then restart the phone and try again, but make sure you have super SU installed.. superuser is kinda buggy for some reasons with some apps
I'm not rooted anymore after flashing the speed rom. I have the file I need to get root back but I can't get into recovery to flash the file and with teamwin the zip doesn't show..
I don't know what to do...
Appreciate the help....

ive said a million times for people to USE 4ext recovery for HTC devices.. and if you install speedrom and you dont have root.. im pretty sure EclipzeRemix posted a supersu to flash afterwards for people who lost root
I know but how can I flash the superuser zip if I can't get anyway to flash it?

Read. Learn adb. Or sell ur phone for a dumb phone.

if your having issues flashing something with twrp use 4EXT, you can use hasoon's AIO toolkit to flash 4EXT and the toolkit also pushes supersu to your SD card so you can flash it in recovery

I got my Evo 3d off Craigslist this morning and i love it. Traded my Evo 4g plus cash for it and i couldnt be happier. I was very successful in rooting the 4g amd never had any problems that i can think of and im hoping the same goes for the 3d.
Anyways ive been reading and reading on how to root it, get s-off so i can install a recovery and them flash a rom and kernel. Ive managed to confuse myself because it seems that if you root it one way, you may not be able tp fash custom kernels and if you use another method to root it, your more than like to have all sorts of problems.
Basicall i need help and if someone could post a link to show me best method on how to root, s-off, install custom recovery, and install a rom on the 3d it would be greatly appreciated.
I have Sprint (cdma) Android 2.3.4. Software # 2.08.651.2 hboot 1.5, baseband 0.97.10.0808

I ended up goin a different route by using the HTC unlcock bootloader and that was suscessful. I still have s on and I think I'm gonna keep it that way for now but I need to install a custom recovery.
I've tried setting up sdk all morning and can't get the cmd to recognize adbas an interal or external command. Not sure what exactly it is that in doing wrong.
I wanting to know if there'sa way to install my first custom recovery thru the bootloader in my phone without using my computer so I can flash the su.zip and get this thing rooted. Thanks

The twrp recovery has a method to flash that recovery without a computer by downloading it as a zip and naming it properly. See their site for detail.
I still recommend s-off since it is easier to flash Roms and the ics Roms tend to bootloop with s-on.

I dowloaded and renamed it to PC86100IMG.zip then went to bootloader, it read the zip but said "update fail, main version older!" Have any idea as to why its saying that?
Sent from my PG86100 using xda app-developers app
I was finally able to get adb recognized but when I type adb reboot bootloader it gets into the bootloader just fine but when i type fastboot flash recovery recovery.img it "fastboot is not recognized as an internal or external demand"
I'm using jtniggles unlock hboot 1.5, twrp recovery, root ,flash

It looks like you renamed it to the wrong thing. If you downloaded TWRP 2.2.0 zip, it must be renamed PG86IMG.zip on the root of the sd card. Then when you update in bootloader, it should work.

Hmmm... Does your phone boot? If so, you could download 4ext (see my signature) and install their app. Then it will push the custom recovery for you. I use 4ext myself anyway.
I tried using their app already and it won't let me since I don't have root

Just wanted to give you a thanks again for all your help. I was finally able to figure out why adb wasn't working. Once thaat was fixed, I installed twrp recovery and flashed Su.then did the wire trick which me VERY nervous but it worked and got S-Off after a couple tries and I then installed 4ext recovery from which I understand is the best recovery available. Thanks again!

Your welcome. Glad you figured it out. I personally have never had an issue with the 4ext recovery.
After rooting, installing amon ra recovery, backing up my rom and being s-off all of a sudden I cant get into my recovery no matter what I try. Anyone have any ideas? Thanks

I had similar issues. I flashed twrp then switched back to amon ra
Search for the amon ra recovery thread in the dev section, and download the ph98img.zip version of the recovery to the root of your external sd. Flash it in boot loader.
Just refreshed it and got it working... Thanks

it's been a while since ive installed mean rom, but are you s on or s off
usually you want to wipe system data and dalvik cache before you flash
also make sure you're on a supported firmware. flashing is easier on sense roms
Its s on n the vid didnt say to wipe anything before I flashed it n my hboot is 1.58 im trying to unroot it now but its taking forever to download the factory restore which I locked it back now just to restore to the factory settings I also ics on it to before I flashed it I wonder if thats a problem as well

Did you flash the boot.img in fastboot? You need to do that with s-on.
use 4EXT recovery as it has the smartflash option. saves you the trouble of flashing boot.img.
what i would really recommend is getting s-off. Check out this great guide by ramjet73

You need to get back into recovery so you can restore a backup or a rom, If you are S-ON like me you will have problems with CWM, you need to use 4EXT recovery, the "smart flash" options works very well on S-ON devices
So I got a the dropbox file downloaded the 2.3.1.0 twrp jewel.zip
Since I'm on 2.2.1.0

Did you rename the file so that it only says PJ75IMG.zip? Save that to your sd card and boot back into your bootloader. Then go to fastboot. Good luck.

Yes, do this. If for some reason it doesn't work because it says device not detected because USB Debugging isn't on you have to do this.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/show...php?p=41076144
Download the mini sdk file from that post. Use the instructions there to access fastboot. Then use the command "fastboot erase cache"
I install the all in one tool kit still nothing here the problem when I'm in recovery and try to reboot it says no os found. So I put it in fastboot boot.img fastboot recovery NOTHING I also did a adv sideload from recovery always get an abort message I DON'T KNOW WHAT TO DO!!!!
