we need a how to on Unlocking the bootloader - Verizon Samsung Galaxy Note II

we need a how to on Unlocking the bootloader... I can not find a concise way to do this. can anyone help I've watch the Youtube video by Adam Outler and i still cant get it to work... I am on Beans1...
Thanks for any help...

Adam just revised his guide (first post of his thread) with even more steps. Also, if you read through the first few pages of the thread, people put exactly what they do.
Between those two and the video, I unlocked in roughly 15 minutes last night.
But please note it assumes a base knowledge of rooting unlocking and the such. Those guides are elsewhere on xda

Watch the video again... I followed it exactly and it worked first time through from Beans1... pm me if you need additional help and I can walk you through the steps I took, but I am in no way a developer, themer, modder, etc... just a guy who loves Android and follows instructions from the guys who pour their heart into this!

Seriously?

Wrong section. I'm still making adjustments and redoing the guide as I go. You need to be rooted first.

odin tries to unzip the .tgz file

ok i tried to use 7-Z file extractor and it will not extract the file to .tar... says the file is broken? the link for the revision3 file goes to revision3repak.tgz is this the correct file?

Odin will do what it needs to do, you don't need to extract it yourself. If Odin doesn't like it, you prob need to re-download the file.

Moving to Q and A.

Check that you have the newest versions... you no longer need to use revision you do have to be rooted though...

Clockwork recovery help

Hello all, I have searched and found little help on how to get CW on my 3d. I have seen great walkthroughs and youtube videos on team's new recovery, but I am more comfortable using CW. I tried to get it when I did the revolutionary s-off but it failed. Please don't flame. I have only seen 1 little walkthrough and it didn't explain it to well. Also, it's very vague on using cmd for windows. Any help will be great! Thanks in advance!

the first bit of help I can recommend is to READ and post in the correct section!
From my mikmikoptimized shooter!
Wrong section. You should post your questions in q&a. Also if you look in this thread it should be a cwm zip floating around here with directions on how to flash it. Good luck.

Just use TWRP, it has the same layout essentially. (but better)
and post in the right section. in this case, [email protected]

Find the cwm img file. Put the the file in platform-tools where fastboot is located. Rename to cwm. Run this command without the quotes in fastboot "fastboot flash recovery cwm.img"

There u go. Download and put on the root of your sd card. Boot into hbot by powering of the phone and then hold the volume down button and power button at the same time until you see the hbot screen. It will scan and ask you if you want to update and select yes. Then just reboot and your done. I haven't tested it but it should be fine. I'm not responsible for anything that happens to your phone. If you use this method let me know how it goes.

Um, yes it does, lol. I tried rom manager, and it worked, it knew the phone was a evo 3d, and it worked fine.
I am still having problems flashing synergy though, cwm, and twrp.............
it supports the 3D, but it doesnt have the recovery available to flash from its servers, becoming essentially useless if you dont ALREADY have clockwork, which i personally like better because i saw the color of it on my brother's phone
feel free to be my first "thanks" D

[Q] Help!!!!!!

I loaded a 4G recovery on to my 3D. Now when I go to recovery from hboot it freezes on the HTC screen. Does anyone have any suggestions or can anyone point me in the right direction? I have already tried to revert to stock by loading PG86IMG zip file(No Go) and I have tried using ADB. ADB Does not see device.
Which recovery were you trying to install for the beginning?....TWRP?....CWM?....Not sure what u mean by 4G recovery?....also which way did u root?....HTC Method or Revolutionary?....these are important, cause they can point us in the right direction on where to head?

Yeah. I think he may need to use a PG86IMG for the current software version. I have them all here: http://www.scottsroms.com/showthread.php?9-Evo-3D-Untouched-Stock-ROMs-Zip-Format if you need them.

Nope just one....if u wanna revert back to stock use the latest version which is the RUU 2.08.....the last one.....renamed it to PG86IMG.zip and place on the root of Yur SDcard.....which basically is the main section of yur card.....then reboot into the bootloader and it will ask if u want to update.....it mat be VOL-UP for yes.....then just let it run its course....when it asks if u wanna reboot select yes....

hope you get it worked out. it is a scary thing when your phone won't even get into recovery... seems everybody here is taking care of it though. whatever you did, i would try to undo it completely by visiting xhausx's thread to put your phone completely back to stock.
first post was a little confusing, though, not quite following what you did here
Im so proud that there has not been any flames!
Thanks for not flaming!
Agreed on the no flaming, in this one instance. There probably should be a "critical user error" thread that has most common user errors, with solutions, so a search would provide them with the most probable solution in that thread. Just a suggestion.
Try rebooting into bootloader and running an ruu...

[Q] rooting the note

Planning on picking up a note next week, I've looked at the dev page for root instructions but I can't really make heads or tails of them and all of the videos I view seems to be the international version. Can anyone confirm of root or is is a work in progress and I should just wait.
It works via odin and is really easy

Just rooted mine using the steps from:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1504218
Coming from a Dell Streak this was a whole different process but it was really easy.
Now, seems the rooting/unrooting of the European version does not makes your rom count go up (please excuse my lack of proper terminology) therefore you can return your phone to stock (ex. for a warranty claim) without Samsung knowing you have mess with the rom. Is that the same for this version and if not is that in the works? How about unrooting the phone?
Thanks.
I have yet to hear one single actual case where Samsung denied a hardware claim because of the counter. People are going root counter crazy around here. C'MON ITS XDA! This is why we are all here, right??

You have to download the file. There are links to everything you need in Da_G's root threads in the dev section. Download, extract, then browse to the file via Odin, just like you tried above.
Edit: Actually with this one you don't even need to extract it. Its already a .tar file.

Thank you, but here is another problem, I went to the link above as recommended and followed everything which went fine. Proceed after step 10 to Adam's unlocking bootlooder. I got as far as loading the image with Odin but when I went back to Casual nothing happens and my phone has a loading with a Green Droid. Casual doesn't do anything like the video where it shows downloading.

Desperate. Need a bootloader file, preferable 4.1.2 please

It's been a nightmare but I'll keep it sweet. I was on 4.1.2 and upgraded to dn3 rom. I was wrongly told I needed to upgrade my bootloader for future roms/etc and not only that was given the file to the n7100.
Essentially I'm trying to recover via Odin, am getting NAND write fails and am attempting to use a .pit file and flash a new bootloader and firmware to get back on track. I can't find these bootloader files anywhere online and would greatly appreciate them and guidance on the issue.
Thank you
