I'm having this problem at least once a day and I have no idea what is causing it. Out of nowhere this will pop up and I will completely lose all service. The only way to get it back is by putting the phone into airplane mode then coming back out. Sometimes that will work for the rest of the day, but other times it will do the same thing 5 minutes later. Anyone know why it's doing this? Just kind of annoying.

How about doing what it is telling you to do and contact customer care?

I was getting this too every so often and all I did was reseat the SIM while I got the error. Please try that first before calling vzw and have them talk you through a factory reset only to send you a new card. It worked for me.

I was having this issue as well, and went to the Verizon store and had my SIM card replaced. Never had the issue again.
I was having this issue the first couple of days as well. Took the sim card out, cleaned it, shoved it back in pushing it down as far as I could with my thumb, haven't had the issue since.
Okay Thanks guys I'll take it out in the morning and try that. Hopefully that'll fix it.

Both my wife and I had problems the sim card. Either they don't insert them properly for new phones, or their sim cards have issues. Replaced both and no problems since.
Sent from my HTC6435LVW using Tapatalk 2
Now that I think of it they come with the SIM cards already inserted if I remember correctly. That's probably why its widespread if the same person/machine is repeatedly inserting them wrong.
Sent from my HTC6435LVW using Tapatalk 2
I just took a screenshot of this same thing earlier. I'll try taking out my SIM card, cleaning it, and re-inserting.

Sounds like the radio is broken.

Hmm from it being dropped? Its so odd it'll sit there at two bars and say no service but I can use 3g fine. Seems like something dumb happened.

Try this. Take the back cover off and then very gently pull the little golden tabs up a little. Also try pulling the sim card out and putting it back in.

Yea that did seem to help a bit. I got it to send a text but now once it has less than two bars it says no service even though its clearly in service with working data. Eh seems like its not worth the hassel of fixing and keeping.

I'm running CM9 final and haven't had any issues lately. Today I received texts up to a certain point from some Ppl and some I didn't when they texted me. I can send out but get nothing back. Phone calls work fine and so does my data... Any ideas? Please help!

Well it's a pretty stable build. Which they wouldn't have released if SMS didn't work. Which means its user error. Either it's a setting u changed. , an app u have running, or u didn't full wipe before installing. Best guesses at least. Good luck , happy flashing

I understand that this is a legit problem you're having but please don't double post. It is against xda rules

I posted in CM9 only cuz that's the run I'm on, but thought I should post in question and answers instead. I will remember that next time. I've been on CM9 for quite a few days now and exec today I have been getting texts then all of a sudden nothing... I haven't changed anything, I was working most if the day.

You might try clearing data for messaging app on manage apps.
I tried that, too no avail.

I had good luck following this guide for setting up APN on I777 on CM9 , it is for ATT. It is from Infuse forums but it works anways. If it doesn't there is an option to reset to default.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1791526
*update* I ended up calling Att and tech support. After some trouble shooting he had me put my Simon into another phone to "wake it up, or un freeze" it then put back in my phone. I then got 18 texts when phone turned on. He said sometimes the Sim card gets confused from switch between towers and locks up. So really was an easy fix. Hope this helps anyone else. Thanks for suggestions!

That's the first time I ever heard of this happening. Weird.

Def a weird thing. But I thought it was something with the phone or especially being on a ROM. But just a confused Sim card turns out. Lol

That's the latest OTA that came out a month or so ago.
After that update my phone started having sim card not found errors and I had none before lol. Had to replace the sim card at a Verizon store.

I've haven't had any sim card issues, but the battery suddenly decided it didn't want to charge since the update. Now I get a "slow charging" error regardless of if I use the stock charger or a 3rd party one. I have to turn it off to charge or it will take all day to get to 50%. This only happened since the update.

I had gotten it before on 1.xx but only if I used my Samsing Captivate's charger, and it was rather uncommon. I NEVER got it with the HTC charger. 2.04 was the same way. 2.06 was were I started having problems. Now I get it 90% of the time regardles of the charger I use. I emailed HTC about the problem and they were absolutely no help. I don't have a charging pad so I don't know if it does this with wireless charging.

I have the energizer pad and it works fine. no slow charger issue
I am receiving Sim not found error at least couple of times a day and it goes away after reboot. This is more frequent lately. I used it get it few months back but it stopped and not started.
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

I had this problem last month, I could make and receive calls, but no data, when I checked APN settings phone reported no SIM card present?
This was constant.
I reset to factory, full erase. And things are all good.

re-seat your sim....it happend to me and since I did that a couple months ago it hasnt happened since. some threads I read said that people taped theirs down too...
This has been a issue for many users, including myself. I find it easiest to just remove the sim card with a paper clip and reinsert it.

Thanks for your responses. I will remove the sim and reinsert.

Sim Card Error.
hi, it happened to me the same, but stick adhesive tape on the sim card, and I never have problems again, excuse my English, good luck.
Seriously tho just wrap it in one layer of scotch tape without covering the pins.

Slight Water dmg a few months ago, but recently cam & haptic feedback went out. Sent it to Squaretrade & they "fixed" it then sent it back. Now I keep getting "enter password to activate new sim" happens randomly but often right after reboots

Silly question but I have to ask. Are you certain it is installed properly? When I first bought my phone the salesman put the sim in but didn't put it in all the way. Only thee plastic trap door was holding it in.

Yep. Your post made me check it again just to be sure. All is secure. Annoyed though, last time they "fixed" it it took 6 business days to get it back. Front want that to happen again might have to sell it if it keeps up. I've heard of the sim reader failing, but under different circumstances
Try to take the back cover off there is vids on YouTube make sure the ribbon for the sim is properly set to the board.
