I am receiving Sim not found error at least couple of times a day and it goes away after reboot. This is more frequent lately. I used it get it few months back but it stopped and not started.
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

I had this problem last month, I could make and receive calls, but no data, when I checked APN settings phone reported no SIM card present?
This was constant.
I reset to factory, full erase. And things are all good.

re-seat your sim....it happend to me and since I did that a couple months ago it hasnt happened since. some threads I read said that people taped theirs down too...
This has been a issue for many users, including myself. I find it easiest to just remove the sim card with a paper clip and reinsert it.

Thanks for your responses. I will remove the sim and reinsert.

Sim Card Error.
hi, it happened to me the same, but stick adhesive tape on the sim card, and I never have problems again, excuse my English, good luck.
Seriously tho just wrap it in one layer of scotch tape without covering the pins.

Is your phone branded? Does your sim match the brand?

Remove the Sim, clean the contacts (physical ones, not the phole numbers) and re-insert it.

[SIM card removed]
Hi Everybody,
I had the same problem on my Xperia Arc S. Remove the SIM card and press the socket with your finger to make it tighter. If it's not enough you can put a piece of paper next to the SIM. It seems to be working for me.
Best wishes,
Peter

Whoa, this thread is 5 months old...
I'm having this problem at least once a day and I have no idea what is causing it. Out of nowhere this will pop up and I will completely lose all service. The only way to get it back is by putting the phone into airplane mode then coming back out. Sometimes that will work for the rest of the day, but other times it will do the same thing 5 minutes later. Anyone know why it's doing this? Just kind of annoying.

How about doing what it is telling you to do and contact customer care?

I was getting this too every so often and all I did was reseat the SIM while I got the error. Please try that first before calling vzw and have them talk you through a factory reset only to send you a new card. It worked for me.

I was having this issue as well, and went to the Verizon store and had my SIM card replaced. Never had the issue again.
I was having this issue the first couple of days as well. Took the sim card out, cleaned it, shoved it back in pushing it down as far as I could with my thumb, haven't had the issue since.
Okay Thanks guys I'll take it out in the morning and try that. Hopefully that'll fix it.

Both my wife and I had problems the sim card. Either they don't insert them properly for new phones, or their sim cards have issues. Replaced both and no problems since.

Now that I think of it they come with the SIM cards already inserted if I remember correctly. That's probably why its widespread if the same person/machine is repeatedly inserting them wrong.

I just took a screenshot of this same thing earlier. I'll try taking out my SIM card, cleaning it, and re-inserting.
I was on CyanogenMod 10.1 and about a month ago I stopped getting service almost everywhere I drop calls all the time and I have no service at my girlfriends I thought it might be cyanogen mod but no one else was having my problem in the thread so I've been living with it until yesterday I got sick of it and finally found the time to ruu back to stock and when I went back to stock I still had no service at my girlfriends when I use to get service on stock and cm10.1 but it did say I had 1 bar and 3g but I still couldn't make calls or even send texts or browse the internet so now I'm back on cm10.1 and I'm wondering if anyone knows what's going on did I drop it a few too many times is there a part I can order that maybe broke in it that I could open and replace any suggestions would be great thanks in advance HTC rezound latest hboot 2.28 and radios I forget what the radios are even tried going back a version of radios and hboot cuz I'm soff but I'm on the latest atm

Have you checked the sim card to ensure there is no dirty contacts on it or that it is inserted completely?
Also, have you tried a different Rezound battery cover? The battery cover acts as your phone's primary antenna. If something is wrong or broken about it, it may not be making the proper contacts with your phone.

You could do like I did and shave all the contacts on the cover that touch pins on your phone. Make the metal shine a bit. See if that improved anything. Also, make sure your preferred network mode had lte and cdma in it

I might of had some sand paper in my trucks tool box but I didn't feel like checking and I knew I had a knife in my glove box so I thought I'd take after my role model and use the knife although I have no luck I am in my girlfriends drive way with no service at all sending you this using her wifi

I had once problem with contacts for antenna located on the battery cover. Also, it would not hurt to check all the pins on the phone that they are spring loaded, not bent, not missing. Good luck.

Just to make sure, you have been keeping up with Fly's CM updates? For a while, there was an issue with low signal strength. It was fixed about 3 weeks ago if I recall. Maybe a little more.

Slight Water dmg a few months ago, but recently cam & haptic feedback went out. Sent it to Squaretrade & they "fixed" it then sent it back. Now I keep getting "enter password to activate new sim" happens randomly but often right after reboots

Silly question but I have to ask. Are you certain it is installed properly? When I first bought my phone the salesman put the sim in but didn't put it in all the way. Only thee plastic trap door was holding it in.

Yep. Your post made me check it again just to be sure. All is secure. Annoyed though, last time they "fixed" it it took 6 business days to get it back. Front want that to happen again might have to sell it if it keeps up. I've heard of the sim reader failing, but under different circumstances
Try to take the back cover off there is vids on YouTube make sure the ribbon for the sim is properly set to the board.

My partner has had her z2 for a couple weeks. And she has always had iPhones and me mainly androids. But she has found it hard to use at times. For some reason 3 or 4 times a day over past week it has crashed and not responded. And also turns it's self off. And while in walkman app could not select songs only way I managed to get it to work was uninstall all updates then the songs were clickable. Then upgraded again and it still worked. Any one else had similar problems? Thanks

You shouldn't be having these issues. In my experience the phone is very stable.
The only time it resets on me is when I pull the SIM card. I'm not sure why it does that because it's not necessary.... But anyway
Try doing a factory reset and all that. If there are still issues call Sony support and get the device replaced, or just do a 30 return/exchange.

Yes i had these exact issues with a defective unit, it seems that replacing the device fixed it alltogether
Take note reflashing my firmware didnt fix my problem, if it doesnt fix yours then get a replacement
