[Q] Battery problems with Safestrap in safe side - Motorola Droid RAZR

Recently installed Safestrap 3.05 in motorola droid RAZR having stock 4.0.4. Everything else works great but as soon as i create a ROM slot the battery falls to 95% and when i install a new ROM the battery meter meters shows fully charged at 95%. The battery then starts discharging way faster and the back cover also gets heated up
But when i go back to the stock ROM the battery is on 100% even though it shows drained to 85% in the custom ROM. And the coustom ROM battery monitor shows the android OS to be using around 50 to 60% of the battery.
I tried syncing up the battery levels by uninstalling safestrap then charging the battery to full and then install back safestrap. I tried installing different ROMs but experienced the same battery draining problems. I also tried resetting battery stats but without use
Normally battery life is up to one and half days with normal usage. But in the custom ROM its barely 6 to 7 hours.
Has anyone faced this problem ? Is there any method by which it can be rectified ?

why don u try recalibrating ur battery using while running the stock rom.... do a conditioning of the battery .. umm drain the battery to 5% switch it off recharge it full do this for three to four times.. factory reset ur phone and then install ur custom rom once again ... see if any difference after that

Had tried it. Tried draining it to to around 5% and then recharging it to 100%. And the thing is it doesnt show 100% in the custom ROM. As soon as i reach 95 it says battery full. In the stock ROM it works perfectly fine. Presently i have the custom ROM installed. In it the battery is 86% and when i reboot and go into stock it shows that my battery is fully charged. I initially thought that if this is just a stat error it wont be a big problem as my battery still will have the juice to run the phone. But later on the back cover seems to get hotter. Its as if the ROM is trying to discharge the battery even though not needed. I dont know if that is possible but thats the thing confusing me. And it doesnt seem as if other people are having this problem. Dont know why.

Battery drains faster than ever & takes like forever to charge up

Hi All,
i am using a non rooted SGS2 in india. its running on the latest android firmware 2.3.6 (waiting for ICS.. )
the problem i am facing is that from past few days i see my battery drains very very quickly.. even if there is nothing running in background. i am using juice defender ultimate.. i guess its not helping either..
also it takes like forever to charge up.. i mean i plug my phone for charging at 17% after 2 hours it just reached to 21%..
at times while charging it through the USB.. it seems to be discharging.. it was at 37% after some time its reduced to 29%..
Also my phone heats up a lot for unnecessary reasons..
has any one faced this issue? please help...

first of all what programs run in background of your device?
second, what battery you use ? (1650 mAh 2000 mAh)
have you looked at your battery if the battery is working 100% or if the battery is damaged?
what rom is running on your device, which kernel do you use?
Could happen from rom. Here in germany the official 2.3.6 update was cancelled because of problems containing battery drain und reboots. Perhaps same stock rom problems in development.

i think your battery is gone. Maybe try charging it with the phone off or something. and if it it goes to 100% u can try download the battery calibration app on market to calibrate it properly. I would try everything i can before sending it back to samsung.
sounds like hardware problem mate, the phone should warm up when plugged but it shouldn't be above 35°C or so, and the slow charge problem could be related
if you can get another battery to test it out, or just buy a new one
good luck
You could try to reset your battery stats before going out buying a new battery.
thanks guys for your suggestions..
i uninstalled some of the crappy apps that i never used.. & voila my phone is back to normal .. less heat up.. battery lasts for 1 day.. hope it stays that way..
waiting for ICS..
@jeroensk - how can reset my battery stats..?
Clear battery stats boot to cwm recovery >> advanced wipe battery stats
But you will need a cwm and rooted phone ..
As battery stats do not need wiping dont worry about it battery automatically calibrates itself .
Some muppets think wiping battery stats actual does something . |It does not play any part in charging the battery or battery life on SGS2 .

Strange Problem - Battery Wont Charge to 100%

every time i charge my phone to full, the battery level reads that i'm at 91%, never at 100%. i deleted battery stats in recovery but the problem persists. i got an htc inspire and running absolution 3.7. how do i fix this?
my current absolution rom is a backup. i had 3 different roms before restoring this rom. should i have done a full wipe besfore restoring the rom? could this be the problem why my battery doenst give a good read?
How did you charged before wiping stats?
The best way:
- power off your phone completely
- charge battery
- wait till battery-LED is green (maybe just wait a little bit longer)
- start into recovery
- wipe battery stats

the 3 Roms you used before were Absolution, too, but different versions? So a full wipe is recommended, but shouldn't be essential.
In case of trying fully different Roms, a full wipe / factory reset is neccessary, also if you are using a "xyz"-Rom before and want to roll back to a backup of Absolution-Rom.
also your battery might have started to get weaker. if you use the phone a lot and make lots of charging cycles battery life gets shorter. also if you plug it for a minute or for an hour its considered a charging cycle. so if you have a lot, then you might have to get a new one

Its not a strange problem man, google it, it happens all the time, just keep charging it properly and it will be fine. I wouldnt worry about it, some phones go to 100% and drop like a stone till 90% then go normal, its just the way your phone translates it
I had similiar problem...whenever i played games or anything that used 30% battery or battery was below 20% I pluged to charge but it stayed there for 1:30 hour 0o. So i unpluged and played games till 0% and phone "died". Than removed battery for 2 mins and charged to 100% without turning on...
when you use all of battery take battery out(i dont know why but it makes battery better). This battery in androids really mess up things...hope u fix it

yeah my battery today started off at 97& after full charge. then when i checked on it 6 hours later, it reads like it started at 100%.. this is very strange.
Kind of similar problem with me, Even after keeping my htc one v in charging for 4 hrs, the battery still reaches 85 ~ 90% always, and then it charges at snail's speed.
If i restart my phone at this point, the battery indicator shows 100% !
I am confused, since if it was a genuine trickle charge, the battery percentage should remain same even after reboot.

battery drains on my xperia ray ??

i have a serious issue with my device , my device indicating wrong battery status (which i think so) , whenever i try to charge my device it starts charging 1% after every 2-3 sec and even more faster discharging rate, so i changed my battery with another one but still same result . my phone take 10% of juice within 30 sec of uses.
the problem begins when i switched back to stock ics rom after using a lot of roms without flashing the kernels . now i tried everything i m on stock rom with stock sony kernel , even more i tried stock GB rom but same result again .
currently i m on.....
stock .587 firmware

after calibration use your phone till it has only 1 or 2 % left, then charge again to 100% without interrupt. dont calibrate again.
if the problem still isnt fixed with calibration, try this:

My friend, i can see you have problem with the batery life. I don't know if any of you has noticed this, but when the phone is charging and it reaches 100%, you shouldn't remove the charger. The phone is still charging even after reaching 100%,sometimes for half an hour. If you want to see when the phone is fully charged, go to Settings-About phone-Phone status. In the first field you can find if the phone is or is not fully charged. Try this and let's see what happens. I hope i can help some of you.

battery is not draining, actually it is showing wrongly .... every time after removing battery it shows actual amount of battery remaining , yesterday i charged my phone several time until it reached actually 95% and then i starts playing temple run, the battery indicator reaches at 1% within 20 mins and then it remains at 1% charged until 3 hours of continuous gaming and then shuts off, then i put it on charging and it reaches 100% within 15%
and yesterday night i put my phone again into charging and today morning it is showing 100% and after 6 hours of moderate use it is still 100%

did you try full wipe in recovery + wipe battery stats in recovery and flash stock rom again?

[Q] Battery not charging to 100% after flashing ROM

Hi.
After flashing a new ROM I could only charge my battery to 64% overnight.
The battery discharged to 23% in about 3 hours.
I installed battery calibration, ran it. The battery then charged to 57%.
This number is now stable even if I reset the battery calibration in CMW.
I think that the problem is that the OS has the voltage settings wrong.
At 57% the battery calibration program says it reads 3825mV. The EVO 3D battery is rated at 3.8V.
So it should be in principle fully charged, right? So why does it read 57%?
(Google play information for the battery calibration program claims that 100% is 4.2V, can it be overcharged that much?)
Do I just need to wait for the phone to settle? Or do I need to somehow let it know that the battery is 3.8V?
Anyone know how to fix this?
Really? Nobody else had this problem?
I have no idea how to fix this.
After the battery is discarged, it charges back to the right voltage 3.8-3.9V but it will read a random % value.
The OS calibrated itself over the weekend to where it would think the battery discharged over 2 hours from full.
Using the battery calibration program while in the OS seems to do nothing.
But resetting the battery calibration in recovery (CWM), or flashing a ROM seems to reset the battery %.
However! It resets to read 64% at full, not 100%.
With a fresh reset like this, the battery lasted me about 7hours (with me playing music for maybe one hour of that.)
When charged overnight, the battery topped at 43% for some reason. (Battery voltage still read 3.9V).
I reset the calibration in recovery and it jumped back to 64%.
I tried two different ROMS. I tried reflashing my hboot. I tried several versions of CWM. Same results.
Any suggestions from anyone? Please?
Edit:
I tried switching the recovery from ClockworkMod to 4ext, but it seems that 4ext did not work on my phone.
I was not able to boot into the recovery menu.
Edit 2:
I tried two different batteries. And I put back the stock recovery. Still wrong % reading.
I don't really want to put the stock hbood back in. Won't that relock my phone?
i have a solution

[Q] Battery Issue on Lollipop Roms

Hii everyone
I've got some really weird Battery Issues on different Lollipop Roms (CM12, ResurrectionRemix 5.3.5-5.3.7, Beanstalk and SlimLP).
The problem is, as soon as i restart the phone the battery percentage drops from 50% to 13% for no reason.
If i charge the phone later suddendly the loose percentage are back, but the phone consumption more "battery" so it's sooner at 0% as normal.
Does anybody else faceing this problem? Or whats the solution?
(Tried several times to calibrate the battery, and it's a new one ca. 6 months old)

I've had these problems when I first bought my phone used off eBay. Phone battery was very erratic. After a reboot battery would be less than half or nearly 0 even with 80%+ battery. Or would shut down with 5% left. Or drain battery a lot quicker than normal.
Soon as I bought a new battery my problems vanished. My battery would stay solid no matter how many times I flashed a new ROM or rebooted. BUT after 3 months these drops have started to happen again with reboots. Not always like before, but they're happening.
I think it's down to battery conditioning. The way you charge and discharge your battery. There are set ways to charge a phone to maintain battery health.
How does your battery react without rebooting from a full change to shut down? You shouldn't need to reboot a phone with a good stable ROM once you've set it up the way you like it. Also calibrating you battery or wiping your fuel gauge meter to often isn't good practice as android and your phone will do calibrating itself after some time and needs the information that these starts provide.
Battery jumps seem to happen with a lot of S2 users. Maybe a flaw in the design of phone. But good battery practices are important, things like not leaving your phone charging overnight. Batteries don't like being left on charge when they are full. There's more info out there on XDA that I can't remember myself as I am guilty of bad battery practices as I use my phone all the time and don't have time to full charge cycle.
Yes same problem
Battery drains really fast when restarting
Any fix for this?
I am hiving battery problems too. Battery is dropping % like it leaking or sth. Last time my phone rebooted due to full ram and it dropped from 50% to 12%. I left it like that. After some time battery re-charged itself from 12 to 23 % ! Phone was lying on the sofa without connected charger ! Should i clen fuel guage chip or my battery is EOL ?

Forgot to say, if you want to avoid battery drops when rebooting make sure you plug your phone into charge before rebooting. Thus should stop battery dropping afterwards.

The battery often drops when the phone hangs at work and reboot from itself so i have no chance to plug it in.
I have same problem, battery drain too fast & after reboot same time battery level is "falling" at one moment twice. At first, I think it's a battery problem, but battery work fine at CM12 mod, and have problem at SLIMLP 5.1.1 mod. When battery "falling" it's not heating, which means no real discharge.
