There are a couple of ways but I'm afraid none will work smoothly. There is WebKey (Play Store) and Android Screencast.
The best way is using the hdmi output. You can hook it up to your monitor/tv with an mhl adapter + hdmi cord. I do this when playing Modern Combat 4 or Vice City while using my MOGA controller. Just like using a PS3 =)
If you don't have a controller though you may find yourself looking at your phone more than not (to see the controls since you can't feel your way around).

A Most Unlikely Accessory

I was considering the possibly of putting an emulator on my Thrive to play some old PS1 games today, and it occurred to me that this tablet is unique amongst many android devices in that is has a USB port.
I took an Xbox360 controller from Gamestop and plugged it in...
Excellent accessory support indeed! Apparently, i can scroll though the screens with the joysticks and use the Dpad and buttons to control some widgets!
I was more then surprised, and have not figured out what all the buttons do or the extent to which different apps will work with this.
Are there any other unlikely accessories you've tried on your Thrive yet?
I'm going to try it out tonight. Good find!
I use the SNES9x EX and found out last week that I could plug in my old Logitech Dual Action controller and it worked perfectly fine... Now I play a bunch of games all the time. I havnt tried the PSX emu yet but I will get around to it.
You can buy that controller off ebay for like $13
I use my tab to power a USB lamp and sometimes a fan shaped as a cow...
I am so happy I bought my thrive this is sweet! God to think I was going to just get the galaxy tab7 phew.

I just plugged in a Saitek P2500 game controller & it also worked. Played a game of Dragon Fly with it.
I just installed Tiger Arcade and was using the full HDMI port to play Street Fighter 3 Third Strike on my HD TV and using the USB port to play it using my 360 Madcatz Arcade Fightstick.

I've been using the full and micro USB slots to charge my e-cigarettes... also my phone (SGS2 I727R).
The tab looks like something out of an old sci-fi flick with an autobattery volt e-cig witha blue tip sticking out the top... pretty funny.

Transformer Prime is 3D capable (HC & ICS)

To my surprise the 3D TV switched to 3D mode instantly after I connected the Prime via HDMI and started ShadowGun THD.
Same for Riptide GP and the YouTube-Client (on 3D movies).
Performance was almost similar to non-3D, so this baby is a true 3D media station.
Sure, you can display 3D content on every Smartphone/Tablet with HDMI-Output when selecting Side by Side on the Device and the 3D TV/beamer, but in this case it worked out of the box.
EDIT: Here's a 3D video showing the Transformer Prime in 3D action on a LG TV set:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=B6d4d64qSXw
I wonder whether this is possible with iOS-Devices
good find, I had noted this back when prime first dropped that it supported it. Now we need developers to enable 3d mode on the tablet display itself. Can you make a video or something showing how you got it to work or showing it off?

Actually yes, I can demonstrate this. I already recorded two videos showing ShadowGun THD and Riptide HD in 3D and will edit and upload them to youtube this weekend.
You'll need 3D equipment to watch the 3D videos, though (or use side by side and cross eye to watch them).
Nvidia stated that the tegra3 has 3d support via HDMI. The prime just doesnt come with a 3d screen.

I think software can be tweaked to make prime screen 3d one way or another. Whether needing glasses or just plain eye. SAME AS watching 3d YouTube videos with glasses on or whatever. It can be done.
Yea this is pretty cool, anyone have a link to a long 1.4v hdmi to micro hdmi? I have a sony 3dtv cant wait to tinker with it.

Prime screen can not do 3d. It takes 2 screens on top of each other to make it 3d. The prime only has a single screen.

It is possible with a special kind of screen saver sheet which seperates either columns or lines to hit left or right eye, plus an adaption in the gfx driver to support that kind of stereoskopy.
I connected the prime to my 3dtv with riptide running, the tv then automatically switches to 3d mode. However, there is no 3d effect in the game. I tried adjusting the 3d slider in settings > HDMI, but it didn't make any difference. It looks the same with or without the 3d glasses. Same result with 3d YouTube videos.
Has anyone had any success with 3d?
OK, so I normally connect by nvidia laptop to a dlp projector, and have the 3d vision usb pyramid transmitter thing and 3d glasses and can watch films and play games in 3d from my laptop. Are we saying that I can do the same on my tablet?????
I've ordered a cable and will try it out...

IF your DLP beamer speaks HDMI 1.4a, yes, it should work. Mine (Acer H5360) doesn't, so I have to put the Optima 3DXL box in between to translate between side by side-signals and 120Hz interlaced. Didn't try the Prime on that combination yet, though.
@ aMandroid: I had mine connected to the TV before starting up the games, probably they require to detect a 3D capable display to switch to 3D mode.

All you need is a Micro-HDMI cable and a 3D capable TV set. Connect the Prime to the TV first and then start the games.

Thanks this is what I am doing, i can see the prime start the game in 3d as it shows a new 3d settings in the notification bar, and the tv also switches to 3d mode. However, the image on the tv screen has no 3d effect, it looks the same with or without the glasses. Can someone pls confirm that it is working after the latest ota release?
I will try some 3D tomorrow and see how mine does on my 42

Worked fine for me on the latest OTA with my UN55D8K Sammy and the microHDMI cable that came with my Atrix. It didn't work with my friend's Alienware M17xR3 via HDMI in though, but that appeared to be a driver issue on his laptop.

Game Controller

Anyone know of a good game controller? I would prefer one that plugged into the usb port, but anything has to be better than trying to play NES games with the touch screen as a controller.

I'd love a bluetooth one.
Well through searching I was able to get my wireless PS3 controller working. It'll do. Would like a smaller attachment one, but it does the trick. Here's how if anyone is interested...

In fact, PS3 WII and XBOX 360(guides to how are on the bottom) controllers all work on the android, as do most USB controllers that you use with the PC.

Game controllers?

Hey all, I am still pretty new to my p5113 10.1 GT2 and wondering if there are any good game controllers for the tab... or if I got a adapter cable could I hook up like an Xbox 360 controller like the Galaxy S3 phone... any help is appreciated.

No u can't use ur tab as a game controller of xbox... but u can connect pen drive or mouse or keyboard into ur tab using d cable...
There was an app that worked with my Droid x to connect a Wii remote, I wonder if it works with the Tab...

I use a Logitech F710 with a short OTG cable, works great, there's a switch on the front of it, must be set to "D" to work properly. Using it for GTA3 and Asphalt 7.
PS3 controller via bluetooth here as well
Just like my Galaxy S2 it looks like Samsung is STILL using their proprietary bluetooth stack because my Wiimotes dont work with my Tab 2. Wiimote Connect always asks me for a PIN. Might have to give in and just get a PS3 controller.

Hello
I have a problem, when i plug in to my Tab 2 a gamepad i see " connected USB device with high performance" and bottom "can not get access to the device" (message translated from Polish), and USB/BT Joystick Center test app dont see a usb gamepad. I dont know what i to do. I dont want root my tablet but i want play with controler. Please help and sorry for my poor english
I forgot i use USB OTG adapter.
I see that no one knows the answer to my question. So let us differently. Message about high power, tell i think says that game pad take to much elctric power, so i have another question if i connect bluetooth gamepad with USB dongle then will take less power? And if so, that my tablet and USB / BT Joystick Center app willbe work with this set? Maybe someone tried?
Im talking about normal bluetooth PC gamepad.

Here's a fun fact. I was playing shadowgun deadzone for a few hours on my galaxy tab 2 10.1 WiFi only non root FULLY CHARGED .
Now I stopped playing
BATTERY IS AT 40% or so, unplugged the ps3 controller , did bit of web browsing for bout 20 mins
Then left my tab.
Came back battery is at 38% NOW.
So plugged in the ps3 controller to play shadowgun deadzone again
AND now it's saying 'connected device is too high power consumption!'
Go figure...
So charged it to full.
Plugged ps3 again now Works.
So looks like at a certain % it didn't accept ' high powered devices' like the ps3 controller.
I don't know what the % limit is until it says ' high powered device Bla Bla'
But I'd think it's around 50-40%
Thought I'd let people know

Want to add to save others time and trouble. You can use a ps3 controller. But it HAS to be a genuine Sony controller. If you dont have one, they are expensive. Use the app sixaxis compatibility and its sister app, sixaxis controller, to make it work.
If you dont have a ps3 controller, the gamestop controller that acam mentioned above is supposed to be really good. My local Gamestop wanted $30. Since i'm cheap, i bought the Red Samurai V2 controller from gamestop ($25). I love it! It looks great, works great and feels great in the hands. Played Shadowgun Deadzone no problem with it. I'm going to try and pair it with my desktop pc and see how it works.

PS3 controller and keyboard

Im looking to see if its possible to use a bluetooth keyboard and be able to connect the ps3 controller.
I connected the controller using the sixaxis controller app but in doing so it shuts off the use of bluetooth to other items, hopefully there are other ways of doing this
The reason im wanting to do this is because I have a G2 with a shattered screen and want to use it as a htpc in my living room. Using the usb is out of the question since I will be using an hdmi slimport adapter. I would like the added benefit of using a ps3 controller for some of the games, but dont want to lose the ease of the keyboard for email and such

I'm pretty sure Bluetooth only allows one device at time.
Look into a USB otg "hub"
wont a hub mess with the slimport hdmi out?

Bluetooth definitely connects to multiple devices at a time. I was able to use my bt keyboard to send pictures over bt to my other phone and the cursor was working the whole time. But as far as the ps3 driver I think I'm just gonna have to live with one or the other.
