Does anyone know how to use the Expanded Notification feature? Can't get it to work
HTC has modified how you use it.....try pinching in and out sideways on whatever you wanna expand.....I couldn't figure it out either til someone in another forum mentioned that tiny detail. Hope that helps.

In his vid he took a screenshot holding the power and vol down, that didn't work for me at all. I can still take a screenshot using the old method, power and home button...odd.

I de-rooted yesterday (Froyo!) for the first time and out of principle want to see how long I can go. One of the only thing that I missed at the moment was screen captures that I need for the small amount of apps I have developed or plan on developing.
I wasn't aware of this ability in the SDK. That makes sense now.
I accidentally did a screen capture today...the phone was on the car charger and I was trying to turn the screen off, I pushed the power button and heard the shutter sound. May be a glitch of somekind
Btw, I am not rooted

DroCap2...Free on market as long as you're rooted.
Sigh
I can't find drocap2 OR shoot me on the market now!
But yeah, I have an Evo 3d and rooted using nonsense rom, and I've found the shoot me apk through various mediafire and filestub links doing google searches,
but every shoot me I've downloaded and installed onto my phone the result ends up in a blurry pic I've tried about 2 other screen shot apps just now, one being "screenshot" from Kastor Soft, and another one I forgot the name of, but both ending with blurry pics also, any suggestions anyone?
Press power and home button. It shld capture your screen shots, I use this method all The time, hope this works

Haha wow
You know what's funny... before I rooted I used to do that method all the time but I would press them both at the same time (or at least that was my intention to), and it would work but once I rooted I tried it a couple times with no success so I figured the feature was taken away with the current rom I was using, and just tried to hold the power button first, then hit home... works like a charm, and they aren't blurry! Haha, thanks a lot!

If im not mistake you would either have to be running a custom rom with screen shot option in the extended power menu or just download an app. There are plenty of them for rooted and non rooted users
Sent from my XT897 using Tapatalk 2
hold down the power button, if its a custom rom, it shud most probably be there. otherwise find Power Menu settings and then activate Screenshot
Get screen grabber from the play store. No root required. Be sure to change the settings for root in the app before trying if you don't have root.

I've never figured out how to do the Motorola Screen shot on this device without the volume rocker showing up in the pic. I have an old free app called Shoot Me that isn't available anymore. It takes great shots and also does continuous screen casts. There is a color fix setting that needs to be selected for it to work properly on this device. Requires root. If anyone wants a copy, just PM me with your email address and I'll send it to you.

On the Photon Q you should be able to take a screen shot by pressing the power, and volume down button at EXACTLY the same time.

Yes, it is like a video recording of your screen. Yes, it works. It is still on the market, but only available with certain models. I attempted to upload a demonstration mp4 but it said "invalid file".

If you're original 4G MoPho then slap a CM7 ROM on that bad boy and set her loose! Screenshot via power button. Then, backup, and flash a Jellybean ROM! Recover back and forth depending on what you need. Play movies via HDMI to your TV? Th3bill's JB ROMs do it naturally. Need Netflix? Recover back to GB, CM7. Never use any third party app on the MoPho. Just get what you need, and flash via custom recovery. I use Th3bill's CWM recovery, I'm old school, but I LOVE TWRP. My Photon is the only device of 4 not to run TWRP. Flashing is fun, easy, and oh so rewarding. Have some joy in your device!
you can find application like screen graber or screen capture ect.. on play store
Thought I'd share. For those of you that are looking for an alternative to the power button LED for missed notifications, XDA just featured an app called Buttonled by GermainZ. Basically, it turns your hard buttons into your led.
Thanks to ewcrider, if you prefer the red power button LED in place of the capacitive buttons, use the first file path on the list, led:red, instead of button-backlight/brightness.
Been using it for a couple hours and it's working great, so far.
Make sure to enable in accessibility.
Find the apk and give all thanks to GermainZ at the link below.

I really like the red. Changing the flash intervals works with this app so I'm happy as a clam now. Couldn't stand the long off delay or whatever it's called, haha.
I saw this in the XDA Twitter feed. It's exactly what I've been looking for.

Wow amazing find. Thanks for sharing.
Here is how I set it up, if anyone wants to know. This works just like BLN.
Pick the /sys/devices/platform/msm_ssbi.0/pm8921-core/pm8xxx-led/button-backlight/brightness PATH. (Should be the second one)
I set Turn LED on for 7200 (Which, if my math doesn't suck, should be two hours.)
Then I set Turn LED off for 0
Finally I hit, Enable ButtonLED in accessibility. (This took a while to pull up, I recommend doing it yourself through the settings)

That's about it. Basically, if I am awake I will see if there is a notification within the two hours. But if I'm asleep I don't want the capacitive LEDs on for the whole 8 or so hours I sleep. I also don't want them to pulse or turn off if there is a notification. Two hours just seemed like a good medium.
