I also would suggest to do a proper Network reboot but most people are able to fix this problem by turning off the crappy connections optimizer and then go into wifi advanced settings and turn off DLNA.
If this has helped you please hit the thanks button

WiFi + 4G connection issues

Every time I try to use WiFi it just says unable to scan for networks and every time i try to use 4G it connects and then disconnects. My sisters Evo connects just fine...
Anyone else having these issues?

I have a WiFi problem with mine, it connects then I'll sleep it and unlock it and it will not be able to connect, then thirty seconds later it connects... Other than that no issues...

This might be a simple solution....have you guys tried to reboot? Maybe pull the battery ? Or try a factory reset?
Yes I've actually done all of those... But on mine it only happens every once in awhile and fixes itself quickly, something I can live with

This is my 2nd Evo 3D and my first one did it too, so I know It's software. Unless their antennas are garbage.

Mine was connecting to WiFi at my house, signal said excellent, however, nothing loaded, web pages or apps like xda or FB basically tell me I have no connection....so I chose 'forget network' and re entered my WiFi password and I was good to go, hope this helps someone else...

Well, I guess that wasn't a permanent solution.... :ut of ideas::

Me too. I guess ill just have to wait and see what happens when the bootloader is unlocked.
My 4G isn't staying connected now. It connects and then disconnects and then won't let me scan again...

If you go to the phone wifi settings and press the menu button, you can change the wifi sleep policy. Dunno how mine got changed, but setting this to never fixed the problem you described for me.

WiFi acting up

Ever since I bought the evo3d I have had issues with WiFi staying connected at home(haven't tested other networks). While I'm on my WiFi network browsing the internet and threads my WiFi icon will disappear and I lose connectivity. 3g will kick on for about 30 seconds then WiFi will pop back up and connect. It tends to happen every 5 to 10 minutes. No other device, including my og EVO, has this problem. Ideas? Troubleshooting? Replace phone?

I had this issue with WiFi after original EVO got gingerbread. Change the channel on your router, I had to call Verizon, but been good since
Try turning off always on mobile data and mobile data when your on wifi. If you have automatic sync on I'd recommend turning it off as well when your on wifi. A quick way to achieve this is to use the htc data widget.
Locked & Loaded
"" Shooter on Deck""
You can try going to wifi settings, then hitting menu and advanced to turn on wifi performance mode. And you can change wifi sleep mode as well (one of the settings is fifteen minutes, so who knows)

I'll give these a shot and see what happens. Thanks guys

Well none of those settings helped but I have been on a different router for a little bit now and don't have any problems. So it must be a setting within my main router... Time to mess around with that yippy :/

unreliable tethering

my tethering seems very unreliable. im using the latest wifi tether apk but thats irelevant as i have used many versions but the problems persist. allow me to explain, im in no way new to android nor tethering. i have followed all the steps to get 4g tethering speeds ( toggle data off, disable 4g re enable and so on) the thing is i cant get a stable connection from my laptop or my xoom for more than 20 mins. the connection either goes idle or the phone just restarts or i simply get disconnected from it. im just wondering whether it' s just me or whether this a common problem among photon users. many thanks and great forum.

I believe the 4G on your phone becomes idle. Just a guess.
I have heard this happens to other Photon users as well. Not sure what the cause of it is or the fix. I'm going to try some things out when I get time and see what mine does. I've never tried to tether for that long of time before. Will post back if I find out anything new.
**I can only test 3G. No 4G in my area.
Are you rooted or using a rom?
**Ignore this (my) post...had something but changed my mind***
thanks. yes rooted & stock

i can torrent nd get bout 10+ mbps download running through tether for 3 hours no problem. could even get on gears of war on my xbox while tethering no lag no problem
favorite tethering app- open garden tethering (easy and you can lower the transmit power for huge battery life increase, i keep mine on the lowest available) but wifi tether if i need specific settings

thanks for your reply. im so jealous lol i do also get very fast speeds the only prob is that is they are not consistent. phone either reboots or drops the connections. i will try the app you mentioned also
Sent from my MB855 using XDA App
maybe think about visiting the store you bought it from or a sprint repair store..? ive never had problems with tethering even being rooted on my htc hero tethering was easy as pie at 2-3mps(3G) or rsdlite the latest spf maybe?

unplug the cable modem and wireless router. plug in the cable modem first and then wait 2 minutes before you plug in the wireless router. while the wifi router is booting up reboot your phone.
if this help you please feel free to hit the thanks button.

This looks to have been solved in the Sprint forums.
DLNA seems to get toggled on by default on some phones.
Go to settings->wifi->menu, advanced, uncheck DLNA
You can either toggle wifi or reboot at that point.
I did try. But it didnt work, i gave u a thanks anyways for helping

Sense tv

Anyone run into this problem running sense tv? Completely stock at&t

I've seen this when using an iffy internet connection. The screen shot shows you on the EDGE network, so I'd imagine that's the issue. Connect to a solid wifi network and see if that fixes the problem.

Ah! So you are... so you are. Then you, like me, may be looking for a new internet provider soon. Or perhaps the wifi you're on is having issues.
During my testing so far, I have only seen this on my (somewhat shoddy) wifi connection, and not on the much better LTE connection. That said, it also could be the HTC server is experiencing difficulties.
Assuming the issue is intermittent, it is almost certainly a problem with the network or the service, not your phone, and there's nothing much you can do about it on the phone itself.
