[Q] xperia tablet s release 6b root - Sony Tablet S

hi guys:
I am wondering if the release 6b is rootable. I just purchased a chinese spec xperia tablet s, and is in the process of installing all google services back on this tablet. For those of you who want to ask, they take out all google service (sync, gmail, map, etc) from china spec android devices (I had no idea until I purchased the tablet) . To make google play work I am gonna have to root the tablet. I tried bin4ry's script and it gives me no luck.
If release 6b is rootable then can someone talk me through the process or give me a tutorial? Also, when signing VpnFaker.apk, is it absolutely necessary to do a factory reset on the tablet?
thanks in advance

The only reason I regret buying this tablet is the zero support from Sony and developers! Too bad it's such a nice device :/

Call me crazy but i dont miss root that much.. On my xperia arc s, i cant live without it, but here.... Meh

You Sir, you are crazy ! :fingers-crossed: Joking aside.. ive also 6b unfortunately and i need root for some apps. And Sony give us a ****.. no answers, no news... NOTHING. I think Jelly Bean is just a dream for the XTS.. sadly. Without root rights i cant live so i will sell my (brand new) tablet in the next months. Oh yeah and.. i will never buy a Sony Tablet again in my life!.

Never say never! You may be keen for an Xperia Z Tab, it is developed (and supported) by Sony Mobile, it is on Sony PC Companion so it will take FTF (FlashTool Files) and the devs of Flash Tool should be able to add support.
If you have experience with Sony Mobiles you will know how easy it is to repair a phone and change firmware at any time
Just a thought....
Stifilz

Is there any logical, defensible reason for Sony to disallow root and unlock on this tablet? Is this VAIO team really THAT stupid? Or is there another reason... Like ps4 secrets?

Nope. I don't think there will be any progress, since it is only a very few people who can and have the interest in doing so for the XTS. I would wait until JB update is out, then new possibilities may arise.

SEUS Moved Froms Xperia Homepage

Hi all, if you need to find SEUS, it's no longer on the Mini SE page. If you need it I found it here:
http://www.sonyericsson.com/cws/sup...ds/subject/updateservice/1.349192?cc=gb&lc=en
This is the Xperia X1 page, but I used SEUS 2 days ago and all good. Happy modding.
When i wanted to download SEUS the other day I couldn't find it for X10 mini either so I had to search for it on google.
I think this should be stickied or something
Yes, when I went to the Mini SE page and it wasn't there any more I thought...what are we going to do?! How can people start modding if the security blanket of SEUS is gone?! But somehow I found it still on the Xperia X1 page. Happy modding!
I always download SEUS from ... Seus.tk
Yep, probably they noticed us modders like to use it as a last measure, and leave us only with the PC companion
They suck. Specially because they dont give us new versions..

I tried to use that before and it wanted a username and password so I could never use it. Has anyone ever successfully used it? What's different?
the pro version is the seus for retail, so they give to shop owners etc, so they can update ericsson customers.
Cant remember were I got this but this is the SEUS I use it and works perfect every time if your mini pro is bricked. see attached file
Hey I dl'd that and it seems to work, nice find!
It'll be good for fixing broken phones, but maybe not updates. Our update days are surely over!
That's all I use it for, we will get no updates ever.

[Q] XP Jelly Bean rooting, custom kernel installation

I'm wondering how we can "root" our brand new Jelly Bean Xperia P phones?! I've tried the Root_with_Restore_by_Bin4ry_v29 method (all 3 steps) with no succes! Any suggestion, method, how-to's, tutorials, etc.? Moreover, is there any custom kernel for XP Jelly Bean coming or can we use the already released ones? Thanks a million in advance to whoever is going to provide any feedback! :victory:
How the hell are you expecting kernels and rooting methods on first day of release?

Instead of requesting root so soon perhaps you could help others who are unable to update by compiling an FTF of the update and providing links. The root will come later on.
Easy guys!

Take it easy guys! I was just VERY kindly asking! And I got the FTF firmware file from another contributor/dev on XDA. I'm unable to compile an FTF myself, sorry about that.

Turbo-X HIVE III 10.1 - RSK ONE CLICK ROOT!!!

I just want to open this thread for a nice tablet from Greece named Turbo-X Hive III, a brand from Plaisio Store! It is a good tablet overall but hard to find some information about rooting it! So if anyone could provide some help maybe together (people interested in this device) we can bring a way to root it!
This is the technical informations about it: Turbo-X, 10.1", 1280 x 800 pixels resolution, IPS panel, Front Camera 0.3 Mp, Back Camera 2.0, Android 4.1 Jelly Bean, CPU - Dual Core ARM Cortex A9 at 1.5 GHz, Internal Storage 16 GB, RAM -1 GB, WiFi, Bluetooth, Mini HDMI, Micro usb 2.0 host, microSD card slot, Li-Ion 6600 mah. Some pictures you can find HERE
Playstore problem!
In the beginning after the tablet was opened i discover that it doesn`t existGoogle Play Store! Only a kind of brand market from Plaisio store! I just want to change it and install any version of Play Store, but this is impossible! I see some videos on Youtube about this problem talking but this is different! So any kind of help or information are welcome and specially from the fellows greek because the Tablet is a greek one!

This guide is for Turbo-X Hive and not for Turbo-X Hive III. The given drivers won't work.
Drivers are the main problem with the particular tablet.
The only drivers that worked where given here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=36523572 (for Windows 8 you need to go to settings and restart with the "allow not signed drivers" option)
But still the Manufacturer can't be recognized and although the Computer finds it as Android Device, all the one-click programs for Android Root waits for the device to plug in ...forever!!
Maybe it can be rooted by using Ubuntu.
I'm not an expert, I'm a newbie in Android. It took me about a week of extended search and at the end ...dead end. I hope someone experienced will help us out with a tutorial for Hive III
ROOTED!

Easy Root Tool worked like a charm for me when rooting both 402 and 314. Sometimes it doesn't work at the first run so you may have to run the tool twice but it should root your phone. Hope this helps
Use cross-device development forum for xperia phones, it's usefu;.
