Thank you,I tried that method but when I started cw in recovery mode, it didn't let me choose any option because the screen was blinking... Very strange I know... I'm going to the method in your signature and I'll tell you...thank you!
I rooted using rachmat3 way very easy guide
Perhaps I didnt download the suitable version of Clockwork, in their web I can see "download recovery" and "download touch recovery" (I took this one), but what is the difference between both? With the "touch" type (5.8.1.5) is with the one i got that screen-blinking problem...
Thank you
Download the 1st and 3rd links and use them.
The 1st link is temp cwm which lets you flash the file in the 3rd link.
Once i had reached this, could I install any custom ROM?

Its the 1st and 3rd links in the ics rooting guide by Rachmat....not the 1st and 3rd links in my sig.
Ive had problems in the past using touch recovery, but it should still work.
There are other methods to root if you prefer them, one being flashing a rooted kernel via Odin.
Ok, Im gonna try!
YEAHHHHHHHH! Once it's done, I consider myself an idiot...! Thank you everybody!!! hehehehehe... and now... and almost ending my asks, where can I find info for flashing a ROM?
Thank you so much...
Hey,first use hktool to backup your efs then make a nand backup in cwm.
Then look into custom roms. Also make sure you install Odin in case you need to get out of trouble.

Hi,
I just got my Android and happened to Root it with a firmware containing CWM because I really had no clue as to what it was. Now I would want to be able to remove this icon CWM from my phone. I have tried flashing the kernel to no avail. Please help me with a step by step procedure to remove it since I'm absolutely new to Androids. My S2 runs gingerbread 2.3.6. I did check the web but am so confused with all the options provided.

It is strongly recommended to back up stock ROM before u give try to Custom ROM.
*#1234# - Check your Firmware version before u do Rooting and make a note some where

Since you are rooted, use any file explorer with root access and delete the cwm manager.apk.
Second option is use root un-installer and uninstall the cwm manager

in some Firmwares CWM is included in system applications, so cant simply uninstall it, you can use Titanium backup application to uninstall system apps,
But before uninstalling better you learn more about Rooting and the functions of this app and other root apps. This is a very usefull app in the rooted and Clockwork mod installed devices, for rebooting into recovery easily, kernel flashing, backing up of the Rom ect..
you can have informations from below sticky thread as well as from my signature links.

I installed CWM to test some custom ROMs on my device. What if for some i reason i have to take my mobile to service center.
Will they charge me (even if my device is under warranty) because i have installed CWM?
Do I really need to remove CWM? If yes, how??
Do you have a 3rd stupid question to ask?

Yes you will need to remove root so flash Sam firmware with mobile Odin and don't root. Now back to stock.
Or send it in and report bk

I haven't actually installed CWM yet and came here to clear my this doubt.
Why Sam Firmware (if Sam = Samsung) while my device is XOLO q800? Can I take a backup of my my stock firmware in some way because XOLO is not a popular brand and I won't get much support(stock firmware) over internet.
Also, I read somewhere that particular firmware corrosponds to a particular chipset(mine is MT6589), is it true??
I would really appreciate if you can provide a link for reference where I can read further or otherwise some people will keep yelling here "noob......noob"

@Snipe,
That's the change list number for UCLE5, so he almost certainly has stock UCLE5 and wants to root it.
@saravanan_ganesan,
Flash the pre-rooted UCLE5 from here. Please pay close attention to the warnings in that thread, as you already have the dangerous stock kernel installed on your phone. Whatever you do, Do not perform a wipe data/factory reset either before or after you flash the pre-rooted UCLE5, and then follow the instructions to replace the stock kernel with a known safe kernel.

The package must contain the stock kernel in order that the flash counter is not incremented. Any custom kernel would increment the flash counter.
So to root stock UCLE5 without incrementing the flash counter, the only two options are to use this stock plus root, or to flash Gingerbread stock plus root. Either option is as safe as the other as long as peeps follow instructions.

I already gave you the link. Read and understand, and then flash that.
You evidently do need to do some more study. It's much better when you fully understand what you are doing.
The root files, superuser.apk and the su binary are injected into the system partition and repackaged as a flashable tar in the UCLE5 stock plus root package. Thus, you will be flashing the full ICS version all over again, just like you did before, but this time you will have root access, and can then proceed to install a custom kernel, to debloat, to back-up files, and whatever else you want root for.
Edit: If as someone suggested, you have already flashed the stock plus root package, then you are already rooted. Look in your app drawer for the SuperUser application. If it is there, then you are rooted already.

EDITED: For your protection.
It's only a .tar file of a kernel. U could also flash it with mobile Odin but since he doesn't have root he can't. He can download it from any source he wants, I've done it countless times. Now if it were a firmware or rom of course I wouldn't advise using any other site besides xda. But if it makes anyone feel better just do a Google search for i777 .tar kernel or i777 .tar siyah either one would work. The idea is just to get him off the darn stock att kernel with the brick bug. He could also just flash all the way back to stock with a one click from the download repository. I'll remove the link though, just to keep everyone happy. Good luck all, happy flashing

Phalanx7621, thank you buddy!! Much respect for you seeking out trying to help someone.... The problem I see is knowing how many headaches he has caused XDA best to stay away from anything he has touched... I have never seen a 3.4.3 Siyah .tar kernel (I could be wrong here) but that file you linked came from him stright from him so that means he repackaged it and who knows what he did, best to just stay FAR from it..... Once again much respect!!! :good:

Could do with a little advise. I have rooted in the past, most recently my HTC desire. I used to flash roms all the time.
Anyway I have decided to root my s2 and I am having problems. I root view odien and everything goes fine but when it reboots everything is the same and have no root access? any ideas?
If it helps I did the manual ics update a while back, don't know if that has anything to do with it?

You're not really explaining the steps you took to root. Flashing a CF-Root kernel through Odin would usually do the job if you want to maintain stock ROM. Otherwise, flashing a custom ROM would also give you root access as most ROMs come with it built in.
I strongly suggest you explain further what steps you took to flash. Because root view odien doesn't say much and is quite confusing.

You should know by now to post the details about your phone.
I could say flash siyah-s2-v4.1.5 via odin(which gives root/perm cwm and safe kernel).
But I wont til you post the details.....

It has always been my preference to root through a custom kernel... If you do decide to go this way, download siyah v4.1.5 and flash it through the PDA section of odin.
Also, as theunderling said, please post your phone details before flashing.
Flashing this kernel will grant you root + permanent CWM

Do as theunderling and poroto mentioned. Download the TAR version of siyah v4.1.5 from www.gokhanmoral.com and install it via Odin the same way as mentioned in the tutorial link you posted. (Instead of cf-root, use siyah) Do this and you will have root. Then you can flash a custom ROM.

If you followed this tutorial you are already rooted on 4.0.3. If you want to upgrade to 4.0.4 I recommend to flash a stock 4.0.4 via odin then Cf-root (or other prerooted) kernel to have root, custom CWM recovery and be safe from brick bug. Then flash desired custom rom. Yes, custom roms come usually with root.

No you don't. Flash the TAR ( NOT zip.) version of siyah or dorimanx kernel via Odin. You don't need CWM for this. Once you install one of these custom kernels you will have root and CWM and can then install a ROM and whatever else you want via CWM.

It happens everytime you flash custom software to your phone via PC odin.
Use Triangle Away app from Google Play store to remove it. However read carefully the app instructions before you use it.

I successfully rooted it but to my bad luck I tapped on the supersu as mentioned in the video demonstration at the website and things went wrong..the supersu asked me whether to start normally or CWM recovery, I opted for CWM recovery...Now my phone is stuck at the yellow triangle..I can go to download mode only...I reflashed the same kernel but in vain...
Please help me to recover my phone as I need it badly...many thanks in advance.

Do you recommend to flash this rom instead of stock rom? But where from download? And how to flash?
Go back to stock first; it will give you a 'clean slate'. Getting your phone working normally/usable should be your only priority/thought at this stage. You can worry about flashing other roms/kernels once you've done that.

Thanks MistahBungle for your help. From where I should download stock rom and how to flash? Further help will be much appreciated.
Search Samfirmware for an unbranded one for your country (or a carrier-specific one if you prefer/if there isn't an unbranded one). Guides/tutorials are stickied in the General section (3rd post from the top from memory).

Thanks a lot MistahBungle and all who supported me...Thanks God I finally reflashed stock ROM which I downloaded from Samfirmware and it is working well.
May I request all those geeks to guide me to root the easiest way. Further I will request you people to tell me the Best ROM which support RTL...Bundle of thanks.
Good man. You're welcome Easy way to root is to flash the Odin version of any custom kernel which works with Android version of the stock rom you're currently running (Siyah & Dorimanx are but two, there are others); read the thread devoted to the particular kernel you want to flash to work out which build you need to use. Once you flash it you'll have a rooted phone with CWM.
'Best rom' threads are not allowed here; once you have CWM installed it's really easy to flash/try a bunch of roms & find one you like, it takes 5 minutes to backup or restore, if you find you don't like a rom you try, it's easy to go back to your previous setup & try another. Generally if you need things that are a 'bit fiddly' to 'just work' without dramas, you're better off sticking with stock. But you can check the threads of various custom roms to see if they support the features you need to use. You could always dual boot if the particular features you want to use only work with stock, yet you like a particular custom rom & want to use it as a daily driver.

Frankly, no, it's not all necessary, but if you follow that guide you should be ok.
The important thing to understand is that these days, the recovery on the i9100 is using the recovery partition; whereas before the recovery was bundled with the kernel. So if you are attempting to install and use TWRP 3.x(recommended), you need a kernel installed that has "isorec" support. Please take your time to read up and understand before you go flashing stuff You will also need to repartition, as is mentioned in the updating thread I linked earlier.
- Isorec thread(read also the github link in the thread)
- TWRP thread
