You need the stock recovery on there. You can't have a custom recovery installed.
Thanks, is a link to putting the stock recovery back on?

i just got this update too - anyone have a detailed spec of the update?
well i have just RUU'ed the phone to stock and doing the 1.17 update, I have noticed that when I unlocked the boot loader and rooted I lost the free EA games on it and a few stock apps that I put back on (except the ea free games), also got a lot of calender app errors, I hope this update sorts it. Also until the mods and stuff are more updated etc i will keep it unrooted, as I thought to myself why do i need it rooted as im not flashing roms every day etc.
Plus not having an external SD hurts every time as I have to remember to back up all the stuff before flashing etc >.> <.<

I just flashed my evo 3d to MIUI current build. Install went successfully, however, once it boots I can not get the touch screen to do anything. It brings me to the unlock page, telling me to slide to unlock but unable to do so. Any help on this matter would be much appreciated. Not sure yet if it's just the rom or something went wrong in my unlocking. I used HTCDev Unlocker.

I don't see the download link?
lol, u really should have posted in miui forum, but i would reccommend using adb to reboot to recovery and either reflash or flash back to the nandroid u made before flashing to miui.
This has been answered several times in the miui thread. Plus why start a thread for this??
Anyway, it's because you have to flash the kernel associated with the rom through fastboot.
Sent from my PG86100 using Tapatalk
Ask this in the miui thread and/or forum. Or anything put in different section. This is android devolopment. No need to make a thread here at all. Not being a ****, jusy sayn, this happened like 5 times this week. People should know, common sense.

Thanks for the replies guys, I guess I just go worked up and worried about my phone. I appreciate all the help and will do more research next time before posting. I will update on whether or not I was able to fix it though.

I did flash the taimat kernal, at least I think I did it correctly, I went to recover, then install zip in the rev recovery tool and chose the tiamat zip that I put in there. Same issue.

Thanks all for the support, I had to just start from scratch, repeat my steps and got it to work this time. No idea what caused it to not work before as I followed what people had mentioned in the guides for this rom. I love xda community, you guys are amazing.

Having used htcs method to root you can't flash a kernel in the recovery, only through fastboot like I said before. That's your issue.

Hello everyone,
Does anyone know of a root for the AT&T Alpha? I saw CF-auto-root has one for the unlocked version (SM-G850F), however, I know that is an entirely different phone, so I'm not even going to attempt it. Any help would be much appreciated!
Thank you!
Isn't one. Method you mentioned will not work.
Hmm, Thanks for the info. So I guess I'm just stuck on waiting for a binary to be released.

I think we will be waiting forever....the phone has been out for over 4 months and there is no sign of root for the At&t varient. I don't think there is enough following to make this a priority for any developers. I don't blame them.
I love the phone, I would love it more with root.....
EDIT - from what I have read, don't be fooled by the SRSRoot that claims it can root the At&t Alpha....it doesn't work.
i now that filling, same as you have iphon
battery will be calibrate ,boring interface....
So, is there any news on the root for G850A?
Well This sucks wife just got a replacement phone from her Samsung G3 with an SM-G850A and we cant root it

Any news?
Has anyone heard any news about any root for the SAMSUNG-SM-G850A?
Is anyone brave enough to try this
https://chimeratool.com/supportedmodels
I could be wrong but I think that it should be safe to try. Either the root works, or it doesn't and leaves your phone untouched. Only thing I'd worry about is the chance of any viruses the program can come with.
EDIT: Just tried it, it failed.
Thanks for trying. The looking continues.
Still no root?? I got the phone new off eBay for $220 using on t mobile in Dallas get LTE

Do the Chainfire roots for sltechn or sltecan not work for the AT&T version?
Once you do get root though, you'll be in the same boat as me... with no custom roms available out there because nobody is developing for this device.
I'm working on getting a recovery working.. but that's just step 1.

Does not work !!
It is official and publicly released from Huawei, Android Lollipop 5.1 v. B309 get it here CLICK HERE
If you are already on B308, you will get the OTA update for B309.
Thank you Huawei for stepping up to the plate!
Interesting, there does seem to be at least some difference from the B308 leak and today's public B309 release. For one, themes no longer take a phone reset to apply.
Lollipop on the HAM2 is pretty slick, but there is quite a bit more skinning going on than with Jelly Bean so it may not be everyone's cup of tea. I personally think it's fantastic - overall usage and performance is every bit as fast as on Jelly Bean if not faster.

Hi Superbass.
I was on rooted and TWRP 308 beta. Applied 309 and kept root but lost TWRP. I am pretty sure TWRP needs an update. I messaged SHM.
I'm happy that everyone can get 5.1 now. If you're in the FUT it will still be used for testing. Stay active.
@kim I also lost twrp but retained root. I feel this could have been due to the msg on twrp first boot.
@SHM you may need to jump in here.

Yeah I extracted the B309.zip to the root of my SD card.. so it looks like I:\dload.. and I put it in my phone and hold the Volume Keys, press power, I get that install startup thing but then I immediately get "Software install failed!"

Who's your carrier and/or where did you buy it?
Huawei Ascend Mate 2 - Android 5.1 / EMUI 3.1
I won it online.. and it's unlocked.
Try re-downloading on your PC. Some of the test group had issues when using their phones to download. And, even if from a PC, some of us had issues with a corrupt download.
Okay well I am now unrooted, and I am at B148. I am still getting the same error. Can it be that my battery is below 50% ? I'm now redownloading B309.zip and going to extract it onto a newly formatted card, hopefully it works!

That should be enough battery but plug it in anyway. You should unzip the 309 and copy the dload folder to the root of your sd card. (Sorry if you already know all that.)
The RUU exe won't run on any computer I've tried it on, and I need a zip for the 3.38 update recently rolled out.
How far does it get exactly? Which operating systems have you used?.

I managed to fix it. HTC must have had a bad version up yesterday, but I looked this morning and I tried it again, worked with no issues. If you haven't redownloaded the RUU from their website, keep checking to see if they reupload it. Sometimes, they take it down and replace it with the previous version.

Question though. Is there any harm downgrading software versions? The new RUU.exe they have says it's version 2.11.502.21 I have a newer version currently on my phone, but I would like to downgrade to fix some minor problems to say the least. Would I be okay in doing so?
**EDIT** Figured out it did not like downgrading, but after a couple tries I was able to successfully use the RUU.exe
