Bluetooth Disconnects in car - Galaxy S III Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi as I have found out the SGS 3 is a nightmare when it comes to bluetooth in car, does anyone have a ROM that will allow my phone to sync the contacts as apparently there is a permission issue in the standard sgs3 that will not allow my phone to connect to my car as it rejects it everytime the pop up comes saying "do you want to copy contacts"
Would prefer a ROM as stock as standard if possible?
Thanks
PS the phone works ok and stays connected as long as you don't accept the msg about allowing contacts.

X10 Bluetooth issues

Hi all,
I'm having weird bluetooth issue. if I connect headset voice call then it stay connected all day but if use it music stream then it shutdown after 10-15 min automatically. I'm stock ROM 2.1A.0.435 Baseband 2.1.54
i have this problem with 2.2 roms and ewjet roms. something with froyo sources. never seens this on any 2.1 roms other than ewjets, but i've never used a stock 2.1 after .492
you can try changing some settings at /system/etc/bluetooth(may also be bluez)/audio.conf
lines you can try changing is:
Code:
Enable=Sink,Control
Disable=Headset,Gateway,Source
try changing to
Code:
Enable=Sink,Control,Headset,Gateway,Source
#Disable
and
Code:
#AutoConnect=True
try changing to
Code:
AutoConnect=True
i've had mixed results with doing this, but i know it's worked on samsung devices. so who knows if it will work for you or not. what i ended up doing is this:
delete the pair
turn off bluetooth and the device
turn on bluetooth and put the device in pairing mode
pair them
turn off the device, but leave bluetooth on
go to settings>wireless>bluetooth settings
longpress the device and go to options
untick "phone"
turn on the device and let them connect
wait a few seconds and retick "phone"
it should work after that
however, everytime you disconnect, you will need to untick "phone" after you disconnect and retick after you reconnect. you may also get a cut in audio every 45 seconds or so. it's annoying, but it's the only way i can listen to music while i drive.

SGSII and bluetooth

I have a weird problem with my SGSII. If i connect my phone to my car bluetooth with the car charger, it stay connected for as long as I am in the car. If however i connect to the car on battery, once the screen turns off I lose bluetooth connect. I have tried changing the screen time and that didn't work, I also tried making my bluetooth visable always and that also didn't work. Can't understand why it only happens while on battery.
Any suggestions?
I have the same issue with bluetooth on my SII.
Whenever the screen is asleep bluetooth devices will not connect, I have to turn the screen on to allow the devices to connect.
I've setup auto pairing in the linkkeys file which works fine if the screen is on (so no prompts to pair devices, just works).
The main device I want to use is a liveview, which I understand has problems, but I've tested other devices and the phone seems to be at fault.
It can't be designed that bluetooth will only connect if your using your phone, kinda defeats the purpose of most bt devices.
tried making my phone always visible, and even tried disabling the lock screens.
using CM7 stable, and a fix would be highly appreciated!
Hmmm.... I don't have that problem.
Maybe some weird power save option?
that's what I was thinking, but I've not been able to find any settings on the phone or through google.
I've just updated to the latest cm7 nightly and the problem seems to be the same. It has an addition bluetooth setting called 'Fast Connections' but this doesn't seem to change anything.
The only other thing I've noticed is that the linkkeys file that I edited to allow the liveview to auto pair (without me having to pull down the notification bar nad authorise it) seems to keep re-editing the file so the phone prompts to pair, so I'm assuming now that's the issue rather than a power thing, so how to prevent that?

[Q] Bluetooth Causes Note to Reboot

Hello all,
Most of the time when I connect my Note to my MINI with MINI Connected (Nav, Pandora interface, Vehicle diagnostic interface, etc), it reboots the phone. It's not instant, sometimes the music will start playing, the car will confirm that the phone directory is updated, and I might even receive a message, but it usually reboots at some point. Once it reboots it usually is ok for the rest of the trip, even after disconnecting and leaving the car.
Yesterday, it started rebooting after disconnecting as well; once again, not every time...just did it yesterday at the mall and this morning when leaving my car for work.
This morning after it rebooted when leaving the car for work, I turned off the voice talk "Connect on Bluetooth" option to see if that does anything, but I thought I'd check to see if anyone has heard anything else.
Thanks!
Update:
So yesterday I rooted my Note and loaded Titanium backup and froze some services I thought might be causing issues. NOGO there.
I also repaired the phone as my primary (which syncs the phonebook) phone and with media audio. NOGO.
Next I repaired with just audio. NOGO
This morning I repaired as a secondary phone (no phonebook). So far so good. On the ride home today I'll pair as primary phone again and see if it stays.

Fitbit Watch

just got the Fitbit Charge HR watch, and I'm having some trouble syncing it to the Motorola Droid Razr device. When I go to my bluetooth settings on the phone, I see the Charge HR there, but when I select it, I get an error message saying that it cannot pair due to invalid PIN or Passkey even though I never entered one.
The only thing that I can think of is that i was near the wireless sync dongle that was plugged into the computer, so perhaps I need to either get out of range or disconnect that.
Anyone have any experiences?
thanks!
figured it out ( I think). the bluetooth version on JB 4.1.2 was not compatible with the watch. thus, I flashed the AOKP 4.4.4 ROM, and now it works fine.

Parrot MKi9200 with Galaxy S2

I've recently upgraded my ROM on my S2 i9100 phone from the standard 4.1.2 official to various unofficial ROMs. None of these allow me to use the hands-free features of the MKi9200 device. All of them will pair with the Parrot but the phone-book does not sync. Pressing the green button on the Parrot (which should allow you to voice dial) simply gives the message "phonebook is busy please wait".
I have reached out to Parrot without any joy to date even after 8 emails each way. My symptoms to them were along the following lines.
"1. The phone pairs with the MKi9200 still but still does not automatically connect when I get into the car.
2. After pairing the phone, the menu item “Bluetooth/paired phones” is still greyed out. It used to have my phone listed there before I upgraded. I guess that this is why the MKi does not automatically connect.
3. As noted above, I have to manually connect my phone now, whereas before I upgraded the smartphone Android version, it connected automatically. When it does connect, it says it is synchronising for a second or two.
4. I can dial a number using the “Phonebook” on the MKi device using the central knob and the menu system. I cannot use the green button as it always says the “phonebook is busy please wait”, even after 15 minutes.
5. When I finish a call, the iPod music does not restart automatically and I cannot start it manually using the “Play” button. The green play icon appears for a few seconds then goes away. I can play a track/playlist by selecting it from the menu system and the central knob.
6. I can play music from my iPod through the MKi9200 but when I press Pause, the red “pause” icon appears and the MKi “freezes”. I have to reboot the MKi to get it to work again.
7. I have tried various options for pairing the phone such as “force AT sync” but none have worked yet."
Any clues from anyone would be very welcome. I've had the Parrot for nearly 10 years and love it. I know it still o=works as I can pair an old phone (with my SIM card in it) and it works flawlessly. There is clearly something about unofficial ROMs that it doesn't like.
For info, I have always installed Micro GAPS or lower and have tried disabling bluetooth scanning and the software "Bluetooth File Transfer (Android)" by Medieval (versions 5.2 and the latest).
Parrot say the MKi9200 is not compatible with Android 8 but I have tried various other ROMs below that with no success.
Apologies if this post is in the wrong place but it seems to be an unofficial ROM thing to me. I feel there is something in these ROMs which is not compatible with my Parrot and was hoping someone would know what that was.
