I just rooted 2days ago and loving it.
I would like to know how to change fonts and font size on my unit, and is screenshot ability built in (if so, where)? I've got Rom Toolbox installed, but it doesn't seem to have anything other than the fonts to download. I'm not sure how to use them after I've downloaded them.

Anyone?
You will probably do better asking on Phandroid (androidforums.com) since there is no Evo V 4G forum on XDA and therefore no thread for that ROM here.

With all of the talk regarding this HTC spyware and loggers in the new update, how do we remove this? From reading Apparently it goes deeper into the framework than being just the icq. Any ideas?

not released to use. yey but evidently synergy knows how. its pretty jacked up that they are not sharing with the community this subject yet. hopefully yet being the key wording. hes already incorporated it into his rom. ..i would love more info on this as well. hopefully someone will rip his rom apart and figure out whats different.

Not quite sure how just the kernel can remove this. I have read that there is quite a bit of it embedded into the framework.

He already semi explained it in his thread and he hasn't even totally removed it from synergy himself. So its pretty jacked up for you to think he owes an explination while he is still trying to figure it out.

SteelH and flipzmode would be good to PM and inquire about. SteelH, I know that he is on the E3D/3vo/whatever you call it (OG EVO owner here). Flipzmode, I don't know if he got an EVO 3D but he managed to find and get rid of most of it. SteelH pretty much demolished all traces of Loggers and CIQ and everything in the OG EVO Gingerbread ROM release
Main thing is to sever the connection between your phone and HTC.
There is some in the kernel, so someone would need to strip it out of there too.

If what they say is true, everything is stored in 3 folders.
/data/system/appusagestats/
/data/system//dropbox/
/data/system/usagestats/
I checked these 3 and had loads of crap in them. I used root explorer to make them read only, and they have set empty since.

Install the kernel & then delete the 2 files out of /system/apps mentioned in the thread, there are more files to clean up but the .apk files actually launch the process.
I used root explorer to do the job.

Thanks for the tip.. I purchased Root Explorer deleted the files and set folders to read only also.
Though I'm not 2.3.4, this is pretty heavy info
Via root explorer, I see the files in /data/system. I changed permissions to read only anyway.
Also, 4 files "userbehavior." I changed to read only because I didn't like them either. I will report any negative outcomes. Otherwise, no news is good news from making read only.

I really need to be brought up to speed on HTC development. I'm coming from a Motorola Droid x2 and I thought development would be the same but its totally different. I don't even know what the hell s-on or s-off means. I'm going to be receiving 2 new rezounds for my wife and I and I'm going to need to get them rooted, updated to ics, and new roms flashed on them. My Droids bootloader was locked down so our devs just worked around the kernel. Anyone know of any tutorials or anything that can help me out and bring me up to speed on the lingo and what (if anything) I should not do with these phones? Also, looks like they are being shipped to me running 2.3.4 which needs to go! Thanks!

He is right but this one isn't stickied and should be. Good place to start but just search before asking questions as you are most likely not the first to have that problem.

Story, one more question from the FNG, is there really that much of a benefit to wait for the official ics to be released? I'm getting the new phones today or tomorrow and I'm somewhat impatient. I can't stand bloatware. Sorry if I'm asking obvious questions but I know once I root and install ics firmware I can't go back if there is a release. Thanks.

You can go back if you're S-OFF with a RUU.
For the time being, you can flash a few different ICS leaks which are close to the official OTA but that's the beauty of modding our phones, you can even stay on Gingerbread and flash ICS ROMs and run fine with a patch as well.
Having problems with s-off. Using controlbear but everytime I attempt to begin program it says connect device and install drivers. Thi is very frustrating. Would like to actually get to the wire trick

Sure you have installed the HTC Sync drivers, and gone through the whole HTC Dev Unlock process properly? And make sure the option for USB debugging is on in the ROMs settings, plus Fast Boot is off. Check basic cabling and whatnot first too of course. Try a clean run on another PC if all else fails.
Thanks for the help!

Okay, so, I pretty much have everything set up perfect except does anyone know how to change boot animation? Running clean rom dev edition and when I use rom toolbox to change and install new animation then reboot, it just shows the regular clean rom boot animation so the change isn't sticking obviously. Thanks

Hello, I recently came here from the Droid Incredible forum. One of the roms I used to run had a sort of premium navigation called Laputa. What's interesting about it is that there is an option to download maps and use them offline, along with a kick ass integration with sense. So I was wondering if there would be any way to flash this on Cleanrom ICS?

heres something i found. dont know if its premium but its htc locations/navigation (laputa) for the One X and XL. it has three widgets, 2 apps and a voicedialer(ignore this the person packaging it just added it because at&t removed it for one of their own bloatware apps

I don't think it works. I downloaded it, extracted the files. Noting would install at all. I didn't spend but maybe 2 minutes on it so maybe someone with more motivation can get it to work

Can you link to a Rom from the dinc that had this feature?
That was forever ago... I'm thinking maybe uberZ not the original but the one from Joel it might have been a sense 2.0 rom also. I can try to dig something up and I'll post back if I get results.
EDIT: Uggg that forum is a grave yard. I think this rom might have had it. It even has car home in the screenshot. KINgDoM REwInD 3D
The reason many devs don't inclue htc's car home is because they consider it bloat.

I've seen this issue on the Evo, DNA & International One X with 4.1.
This is literally one of only 2 issues left to tackle on the stock deodexed ROM.
Anything I can poke at (point me where) & or flash?
Thank you.

They should be fine, before you flash any make a nandroid. If they don't work just restore your backup. I would avoid the ones that say Only for X on the thread title, it shouldn't brick your phone or do anything you can't come back from but there is always the possibility with the ones that say Only for X that there is something in them different fro, a normal theme. Just be on the safe side and make a nandroid so if anything does go wrong you can always restore.

I would be a little more leery in flashing Sprint themes just because their kernels sprint writes /data on /dev/block/mmcblk0p17 instead of on /dev/block/mmcblk0p16 but that is only on the kernels and not themes. There are a few differences with the Sprint Note 2.
I would think that the Cleanrom or Beans themes would be fine, probably most other themes would be but I don't want to tell you 100% yes when I'm not 100% sure at the moment, I'm about 99% sure.
I know when I used the VZW S3 we could use *any* of the other carriers S3 themes so I would assume it would be the same with the Note 2 and the worst thing that would happen would be you might, just might, get a bootloop that could easily be fixed by restoring your nandroid.
Also I noticed you said you were looking in the S3 forms, S3 themes won't be compatible. Other Note 2 versions themes probably will be compatible but you can't just go using other phones themes when they're made for a completely different phone. At least the Note 2 versions are close enough that it shouldn't matter but using s S3 theme is asking for trouble.

Well that theme may work on the N2 if it stated that it did, I don't run themes when I am on TW so I haven't really looked.
I wouldn't flash the S3 themes, just because I don't like having to restore nandroids, but it could work. I wouldn't think it would but I am no master themer.
You might try asking this in the themes section and see if one of the themers had any answers.
