You mean like Glimpse for webOS? The one app I show off webOS on...
There's been a couple cornerstone roms built for tp....think there all ginger based, but I remember them being fairly stable

What is the app called please?
Here you go:

It's a series of apps by this developer. Unfortunately, they seem to be the only ones that will work split screen as Android's default framework isn't designed to run windowed applications.
Thanks but jellybean currently not supported.
What about that cornerstone that was baked into one of the ROMs on here. You could truly multitask.

Perhaps we could get Inglorious Apps to port Glimpse, since he quite webOS development.
Are you guys talking webos or android? Or does it even matter?

Considering that this is a Android on Touchpad topic area, I am guessing it is safe to say Android. Glimpse was a great app for webOS as it really showed off how webOS was a true multi-tasking environment...
This is touchpad general. Not specific to any os.
In any case, I think both os's need multitasking, though in different ways. Android would be best with floating apps, while webos feels better with sliding panes. Maybe a modification of a tiling window manager.

HC or GB?
Just wondering how many people use GB and how many HC...
After upgrading to HC and not liking it I reverted to GB again...
Here is a small list of pros/cons with HC
+True BT mouse support
+Pen support improvements
+Non full-screen apps now resize to take up the full-screen
+Live wallpapers continue when flicking between different home screens
-HTCs Fast Boot doesn't work
-Gameloft games do not work
-Phone functionality doesn't work
-Screen real estate is lost - since the hardware buttons are already there HTC should have made it so if an app is fullscreen hide the notification bar and light up the hardware buttons and make them usable again

No ... not after the upgrade to HC ... some just crash ... and some state that they are illegally purchased ... also tried re-purchasing spider man ... said the same thing ... waste of $6

I'm still at 2.3.3 rooted and S-Off on RUU WIFI ROM.
I really would like to use my pen anywhere I want, but seems like too many people are having issue with the HC Beta Rom. I use this daily for work and entertainment so I'm not quite ready to move to HC until HTC release a more fixes to the current Beta. Or someone cooks up something I really want.
What do you mean as far as screen real estate lost, The resolution doesn't fit the screen well ?

OP may be talking about the big status bar at the bottom, with the back and home buttons, instead of using the hardware capacitive buttons (as with the stock Flyer GB ROM).

Honeycomb is honeycomb is honeycomb... and I run some games which are compatible.

Oh, 8 pixels... and there are tools to hide the statusbar. Therefore it is reversed.
Gameloft games are always a little flaky, probably because of all the performance tweaks they make. Reminds me of DOS games in the 90s that used direct hardware access breaking in Windows 95.

There's like 5 that are compatible with gb on the flyer/view. But others work. And the edits to make them work I got from a honeycomb
Device. So I don't see why they wouldn't on a honeycomb flyer. They work for me on gb.

After using FlyHoney for a week, I've been able to use all the applications I care about with no problems:
Evernote
Slacker
Logmein
1Password
Kindle
Repligo
I haven't had a single crash and performance is stellar. Without HC, the pen was really unusable. I don't know about who is complaining about HC problems, but you might not be reading the same forum that I am.
For a .2 release, I can't actually find a reason to upgrade to anything newer unless there are some major improvements.

Hiding the back/home/menu buttons defeats the purpose (and very useful utility) of always having those buttons available.
You can make them it disappear and come back at will so you can save the space and have the functionality.

Uh yeah, I know what "hiding" means. As I already mentioned, unhiding the buttons is an extra step, and is not the same as having those buttons always accessible.

Not quite true. Quite a few work on the original Samsung Galaxy Tab which shares the same screen resolution.
It's probably more to do with the pixels lost to the HC button bar.

Well I'm too stupid to find it on the market xD
Is something like this in development? I know this would probably come with a custom ROM but one could be useful now. Just to toggle amd edit things. IE keyboards and what not

No custom settings yet. Use AnyCut app.
Do you think there will be? Or will we just have to wait for roms?

Dissapointed.
Well IMHO I think it is awesome. The syncing works great. Can't figure out how to swipe between tabs like on the phone version though. Text entry into open fields is much better than stock. Also a neat feature when a bunch of links are close together this magnified pop up window opens to let you choose. See the screenshot attached.
Start with your finger on the bezel, and swipe onto the screen. If you have multiple tabs open you will notice it highlights a certain tab depending how much you go left or right.
It's pretty sensitive so it's easy to miss what it's doing at first.
I dont mind it so far. I like that it is reminiscent of the desktop version.
Bookmark pages could be more attractive.
Seems everyone is a little harsh for a BETA

Can I get the apk? Not downloading on the market.
Any word if this is being ported to Honeycomb?
This is replacing any browser that I use.

dont think porting system apps from Ios would be possible or if you could you might as well just make a themed version that look like the iOS apps, if there any real features they have over the current android apps? (apart from look)

They had the same features of the iPhone apps and were not the theme. They were not the porting of the app, but developed the same as the iPhone. I don't find it. Maybe is a closed thread....

First, I wish a better multitasking. The iOS multitasking is better solved. I hope Google will develop a simply and fast way to switch between the running apps.

Hi,
iOS... What is it ?
Personnaly I know nothing other than the Android multitasking... , when I googled "iOS multitasking" there is nothing relevant... :victory: :silly::fingers-crossed:
In any case your post had nothing related to do with the OP (Note 2 multitasking windows about SIII port, not a general thread about multitasking on Android VS I*****)... If you want to talk about multitasking there are another threads

IOS doesn't multitask. Simple as that.
To switch between running apps keep the home button pressed to see the task manager.

Ok, I go out...
You simply say what I thought, I was just a little ironic in the first part of my post.
OT: nodstuff, you still have your Galaxy Nexus? (no, no sorry for the OT since this topic is destined to die :silly:).
