I only seem to sometimes get half the image, almost like it has not completed downloading.
I can set it to another picture and back to bing and still get the same issue, seems to be hit and miss so far if i get the full image or not.
Anyone else getting this?
For the few days I had 7.8, the image would show up just fine initially, but it wouldn't update to the next day's image the next day.

I would often wake up at 7am see it hast updated and play with the settings... but over time I got fed up of fixing it and found it updates itself in the late morning, around 10am.

Hi there,
I would like to skip the latest update, coz' I don't see any real improvement there. How can I hide or disable the constant notifaction icon?
I am rooted, of course.
Love,
D.
Even if you don't see any benefit, there are often bug fixes and security fixes inn a new release. So I take the opposite view, if an official update does not break or remove some needed functionality I install the latest version.
Can't you download the update then just not install it? Would that get rid of the notification?
sent from the largest android phone/smallest android tablet-the phablet
Nope
Downloaded it last night, (to the phone, OTA), but did not install it. Went to bed, got up the next morning and the notification was still there.
Yeah, you are probably right. Took the plunge yesterday and it took me the whole day to reinstall the apps and settings. First thing I did afterwards: Got Titanium Backup ;-)
Btw: GingerBreak works like a charm
Is it me or anyone else having issues with whatsapp.
Sometimes it just does not notify me of a new msg, until I open the application (whatsapp). Probably, I guess its a glitch on the application side and not with Windows 7.5.. just comfirming, if others too are facing the same problem?!
same here with kik (whatsapp like)
if the lumia is on standby mode I receive new messages only when I unlock the screen and open the app
hmm.. seems like windows stops the installed application on standy mode... as the integrated mail system works fine.
I don't know if it's right or these apps aren't mango optimized
I have spotify streaming great even with the screen locked
same here ... i also think the start up is very slow
I have noticed this problem after the whatsapp update for group chat...
alright so its almost confirmed its the problem with the software and not our windows mango.. hope the developers tries to fix it, if its fixable..
how is the battery drain after installing whatsapp.
I had installed whatsapp sometime back on my Nokia E71 and it completely trashed the battery (I mean 100 to 0 in 2 hrs without even using the phone sometimes)
So is the version of whatsapp for wp7 better to battery
well Haven't noticed any significant drain..
I didn't notice battery draining but i have some issues too. It does notify new message also when the application is closed but when i open it i can sit down and wait till the next day to see the new message. I can say after a month experience that it works very bad.
WhatsApp for WP7 is glitchy and I think it does impact the battery. The developer really need to fix and optimize it better.
Yes, it seems to eat up the battery like crazy. My Lumia has pretty mediocre battery life already, but WhatsApp makes it even worse. Today I unplugged at 100%, sent 5 messages, received 7, and then left it alone. Less than an hour later I came back to find that my battery is now at 85%.
Not to mention that messages (on EDGE, mind you), take at least 10 minutes to deliver/receive. On WiFi it's almost instantaneous.

battery is still great after whatsapp.
have you ever used an android? battery does not last more than 24 hours.
anyway lets hope dev fix whatsapp asap. some times i do not receive new sms till i start application.
Not sure about the battery issue. But I did notice a few things about WhatsApp.
1. It does receive messages when its lying on my desk, if you have the tile for this enabled. Not sure if works with Tile disabled.
2. It only picks up Windows live phone numbers, and not FB phone numbers, even though both numbers are visible in the contact list and available in other apps, e.g. Voxofon, etc.
3. Battery issue, yes it does seem to consume a little extra battery with this app.
IMO, the app is not really optimised for WP environment, and is just a quick place-holder port onto this OS.
I really hope they update the app to fix the issue with accessing the FB numbers from Contact list.
EDIT:
Another suggestion for WhatsApp developers will be to use an IM service gateway, so that the WhatssApp messaging can be integrated into the beautiful messaging system in WP by just adding an account into the email/accounts menu.
This will allow users to seamlessly switch from text to WhatsApp to FB and so on, without losing the thread.
There's a new update for Whatsapp.
Another Problem.. dont know How did i missed to mention it, the first time...
is anyone able to open the received pictures from whatsapp..?!!

Yes, pictures send/receive works fine. If on G it takes forever, fast and seamless on 3G/WiFi.

I did uninstall/install to get the update as it refused to prompt me although I had 1.5 installed.
I am having tons of data use by google play store on 4.1.2.(reported by my data manager) I am not sure but it might have started before 4.1.2 but I know it has been doing it with the last three updates of tasks rom. I have searched his thread and used google and can't seem to find anyone else with this problem. I did a full wipe every time I have installed, tried reflashing gapps multiple version and redownloaded several times gapps and the rom. I have this problem before installing any apps. Maybe I am trying too hard and overlooking something. Would a logcat help with this? If so I will have to reinstall as I was so upset last time I just nandroided back to tasks 7.3.12 again. I have aokp on all my devices and it is driving my crazy that I cant get the latest task version to run on my sgs2

I will give that a try. I cant figure out what it is downloading because it seems to be only a few Kb at a time. If I sit and watch mydatamonitor I can see it downloading about 5-15 k every 20 to 30 seconds. At the same time I can see the network indicator switching from 3g to h+ over and over. I thought it was rilj at first but it doesnt show as a wakelock at all. The first day I noticed this it had used about 20mb while I was at work. I didnt notice it because the phone was plugged in all day at work, but started losing battery fast as soon as I unplugged getting ready to leave. Maybe I am just being long winded but then again maybe some of this will help figure out what is going on. As I said tonight I will reinstall and see what happens by morning.
Thank you for your help 122ninjas

This data use just seems to keep going. It definitely keeps going long after all my apps are restored either by play store or with TiBU. Unfortunately I didnt get time to try the 10-17 release last night to see if leaving it on all night would settle it down. My data monitor shows the use for google play store and not google play services. It is maddening that is keeps using such small bits of data but does it so often the phone never sleeps.

think I found it
thanks to everyone who tried to help. I finally had a chance to flash a jb rom again and once again data use by google play store. I looked in the log and I kept finding an entry for tokaplot widget for checking license and then it failing. It seems for whatever reason once in a while in ics and about every ten seconds in jb it was trying to check the license on the widget I bought quite some time ago and it would fail. I uninstalled the widget and so far no more constant data use. Hope that did it. Drove me nuts finding it. And thanks to all the devs in the gs2 forums that reading their posts taught me how to find the culprit.

Am having same problem, can u pls eloborate the steps to resolve?
Every time I go to one of those pages, I have to refresh them manually. That's really kind of pointless. By that time, I probably could have used my phone. In fact, teh same thing seems to happen when it's on the watch face - until you force it to update, it's got old weather.
Any way to force them to update on a more frequent basis?
I have that problem as well, after thinking about it id much rather have it manually update. I wanna preserve battery

I'm not sure how this would preserve the battery, since I have to force it to update at least once a day, using the same amount of battery that would be used if it was scheduled to at least update daily (or at least when charging).
I'm sure it does if you wanted it updated say every 2-3 hours its looking to update
Weather updates automatically for me. I think it updates at the same frequency as the phone (in my case every hour).
Where do you see the weather on your phone?

The Samsung Date/Time/Weather widget that comes with Samsung devices. The big one, front and center, on almost every Samsung device by default.
I don't have the widget on the screen, so it looks like it doesn't update automatically.
Since updating to MIUI 12.2.1.0 Stable (RJBEUXM) I have two issues -
Fingerprint reader is dire - it used to open in fractions of a second, now it fails to read my finger 80% of the time. I have re-trained again and again, but it just can't read my fingers any more.
Google Maps force closes after a random amount of use - sometimes it will go an hour, sometimes just after a few minutes - not much use as a SatNav any more.
I've reset the phone and set it up again from scratch just in case (a pain with all my apps to reinstall and set up!), but both these issues persist.
Has anyone else experienced similar? This is a stock Mi 10, never tinkered with, from Amazon UK.
Bill.

I have the same problem on this and latest version. I don't know if this is a problem with MIUI or Android 11 itself.
