HTC Evo 3d/ HTC Evo V help - HTC EVO 3D

Hey guys,
I am on virgin mobile and thinking about getting the Evo V. I believe the Evo V is the same as the Evo 3d but not sure. I tried looking around the forum but it is so large so I thought I would just ask.
Is the Evo V the same as the CDMA Evo 3d and are there good roms out there for it. Right now I have the HTC One V running AOKP JB. I would like the Evo V for 4G, but I see alot of Roms don't have the 4G working. So my question would be, is the Evo V work with CDMA Evo 3d Roms and clockwork recoveries and if I switch are there good Rom (hopefully AOKP JB) out there for it, with working 4G?
Thanks

There are a few good VM ROMs. Unfortunately, they aren't on XDA. I'm Sprint, but I think one is called Midnight ROM. There are other forums out there for Virgin Mobile users.

[Rom] ViperRom for GSM, post if you want it!

Hi there,
first straight to the point: If you, like me, want viperRom Redline for the Evo 3D GSM (CDMA here) post your interest here and we might get our chance, see post from viperboy here
he wrote:
"I can ask for permission to use JoelZ's install script for Warm ROM. It allows for 1 zip that can work for both CDAM and GSM EVO 3Ds. I just don't like not having the device to test things. Ask around in the GSM forums, see if it is worth my time to make it work (not monetarily of course, just if enough people want it). I will see what I can do "
-->that would be absolutely fantastic. When I started searching for a "good performance/great battery life ROM" I always got stuck with viperRom:
See here (htc evohacks), the comments and other youtube testers as well as the comments below the CDMA ROM thread for excellent reviews, they all made me eager to have it as well^^
Ok so post if you wanna have it, if the feedback is big enough it might convince the viperRom developer team.
Best,
Eric
The Backstory:
After some ROM Tesing for Evo 3D GSM (Leedroid, Warm) I'm not satisfied with battery life (I also tried different Kernel/ROM combinations). Doing Internet Research I found and got all hyped for ViperRom, tried to install it and discovered (as you might know) it only runs for cdma version.
Looking for GSM Version i only found this thread:
No viperRom for GSM
and discovered that development was cancelled in August 2011.
Coincidentally I found a little thread about Synergy Rom replacement, where I asked the viperRom developer team. The answer is already posted above.
I have been running the cdma rom since I rooted back in version 1. Very good rom, is the best out there

One of the hard parts for us would be that neither viper or myself have a gsm 3d, so we'll have to depend strongly on testers. I'll talk things over with him and see if the demand is high enough

[Q] Evo V 4G (VM USA) aka Evo 3D (Sprint)

I was wondering if the Evo V 4G (aka Evo 3D) would get a development forum once it releases on Virgin Mobile USA. I would like to see a root method, and custom roms after its release.

[Q] OPTUS HTC EVO 3D Rooting and Custom ROMS

Wanted to know if i can get a GSM version of the MikVirgin ROM for the HTC EVO 3D with optus
I also wanted to know how to root the device, rooted my sensation xl from the HTC website and put a custom ROM on it, is the process same for the EVO 3D?
PLZ help a noob out
Try to root it first before installing any custom ROM, and just use only ROM for your devices or you gonna brick it..
If you're gsm this would help you out -> http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=17250151

Is there any custom made ROM for VM users?

I just converted my Sprint EVO 3D to VM. It is still in Sprint stock rom. I'm wondering are Sprint ROM and VM ROm basically the same? Is there any custom made ROM for VM users? Besides, I know that VM has issued its fixed for the radio. Is that fixed already included in the custom rom(s) or do I need to apply it? if yes, and guide for that?
I don't need fancy feature, stable and smooth is my prority. Any recommendation?
Thank you.
XDA has no Evo V 4G specific forums. The custom ROM's that are specifically designed for the Evo V 4G can be found on this forum. There is also feedback there from Evo V users that have installed ROM's built for the Evo 3D on their phones.

Firmware and radio are low level programming not touched by the rom. As far as custom roms go configured to work on VM, the next updates to both d3rp rom and inbREDed will include in the aroma installer an option to add the apn's for Virgin Mobile users, so 3g, MMS etc should work. (The installer's already been configured and works properly, but I haven't finished the update for anyone to test yet).

A little bit of confusion : Evo V?

How does rooting/getting custom firmware on the V work?
I went to the store to buy a no-contract phone today, and ended up going with the Evo V. It seemed like an in-freakin-credible deal. 139$ for a 4G phone with a dual core processor? Yes puh-leeze.
Anyways, so I've had an HTC before (hero), which I rooted/firmwared up and loved it, but I can't find a specific forum for the Evo V.
I know it's identical to the Evo 3D except it has 4G capabilities + launched with different software, so what rooting guide/firmwares can I install? Do ANY that work for the 3D work for the V?
Thanks in advance.
EVO V is 3D for Virgin Mobile. I've had both and hardware is identical. Software settings slightly different. For root follow Ramjet's guide at the top of this very section. Lot of the people in EVO 3D section have EVO V now. An easy beginning step is to root with HTC method, use 4 ext recovery and flash Midnight Rom. It's configured for Virgin. Then move to S-off if you want. Or straight to it depending on your skill level. It will allow you to flash Jelly Bean ROMS.

You can root and optionally get S-OFF for an Evo V 4G with this guide.

Thanks for the heads up. I got my phone S-OFF'd pretty easy!
Now I'm wondering, what's the current state of JellyBean roms. I hear that 4.2 will have group MMS messaging that plays nice with iPhones, which I would love.
Are there any working Evo 3D 4.2 ROMs?
If not, what's a ROM that's totally working, stable, and very fast. I'm not worried about bells and whistles.

You could try dastin's CM 10.1 (Wild For The Night) or Evervolv, both of which are 4.2.1 ROM's and very stable.
If you would like more advice about ROM's we have a thread here for that.
