After rooting E970 SD Card being weird... - AT&T LG Optimus G

Okay, so I rooted my at&t E970 using this method: http://forum.xda-developers.com/show....php?t=1941699 . I mainly did the root because I wanted to transfer some of my apps to my SD card. I download App2sd and another transfer program and they both have difficulty finding my SD card in some way. How can I fix this? My other android phone is rooted and I use those apps to do transfers all the time. I can play music and see photos that are on my sd card. AND I HAVE A LOT OF MEMORY. Any help? Thanks in advance.
***I am very lost. Shouldn't I be able to boot into recovery after rooting? I can't do that. I installed "Rom Manager" and tried booting into recovery from there but all I got was the operated Android robot picture. Can someone guide me the right way to root this phone?

You would need to unlock bootloader in order to have custom recovery. Freegee app is $1.00 or pc version is free. I am not sure if stock recovery is accessible or useable. Sorry I can't answer more of your questions.

Alright, thanks! I installed that and successfully booted into recovery. I know I'm rooted and I have clockwordmod. I just need to know how to move my apps to my SD card. It still shows that my sd card is "emulated" according to Apps2sd

any luck?

[Q] Move apps to sd card?

I have a sony Ericsson x10 mini pro. I'm wondering if its possible to move apps to my sd card, because the phone doesn't have a big internal memory. I heard something about having to root the phone, and doing something to the sd card. Could someone guide me through that, or tell me more about it? How will that effect the apps?
Thank you x
BTW, sorry if this is in teh wrong part of the forum, i wasn't sure what section it came under
I am also trying to find out the answer to this question. All i have been able to find out through search is that one has to root the phone and there is probably just one application superone click that allows you to do that currently for X10mini/pro 2.1 version. However once one has rooted through superone click, how do you then transfer all your applications to the SD card and whether its possible or not is my question. Hoping someone answers soon so i can take the risk of rooting.
There is an app that you can get at the market to enable you to transfer apps to SD..
App2SD and Link2SD.. just search on the Market
and also search the forums for these 2 apps, there are dedicated topics for these with more detailed discussions...
I've tried both App2SD and Link2SD along with a few others... none of them install on X10mini/pro runing on v 2.1. They require some sort of partition on the SD card which i have no idea how to do.

There is no. Of videos of partition of sd card in YouTube.
I m using link2sd and I feel its better than app2sd.
.
If you use Android 1.6/2.1 then you have to use link2SD.
Use this guide for partitioning the sd card
SD Card Partitioning
Or if you have gone to the new Android 2.2/2.3 you dont need these steps, because they are integrated in the OS itself. There are some advantages running 2.2 or 2.3
Good luck
Thank you all... It worked!!!
Used link2SD and created partition on SD card as advised by Tommylee567. Transfered my apps to SD Card. Only issue i am having after the root is that Skype is giving me problems. Have to take the battery out to reset the phone and stop it from ringing continuously whenever someone calls me on skype. I didn't experience this problem before though.
Anyways atleast i got my apps transfered to SD Card.
Thanks Tommylee
I have partitioned my ad and installed link2sd. However it gives an error saying the 2nd partition not found. i have followed all the steps correctly and my mini pro is rooted. Can anyone help? Please!!!

You either need to install the Froyo update (since moving apps to the SD started as a default feature in Froyo) or root your device.

Use the app to transfer whichever apps you want to the new partition. Also set it to automatically link new apps to the sd partition, if that's what you want.
If you're having trouble, just Google it. There are hundreds of guides for using Link2SD, and thousands covering all kinds of ways to move apps to the sd card. Here's one to try.

[Q] Missing cwm on SD card after rooting

I just rooted my daughters nook by using a method i found on youtube. Thing is i put a 16gb sdcard in it but after rooting it took up all the sd card space. So i followed what the video said to do. Which was to reformat the sd card from the settings on the nook. So i did that but now theres no cwm etc on the sd card anymore. I would like to be able to flash roms on this nook, but with no cwm on the sd card can i still flash roms on the nook. If not is there a method to fixing this. I seen someone else had the same problem. Is there a fix for this or am i ok to flash roms.
I think it's convenient to have my CWM installed internally. An easy way to do that is to burn a root card again (it has CWM on it but not a high enough version for newer ROMs), put a flashable CWM on the card and boot inte te card's CME, and from there flash the 6.x.x CWM.
I describe under C how I, as noob, installed the CM10 I'm still running and am very happy with.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2081981
If you don't want to install CWM internally you can also use a smaller sd card than your 16 GB and make it a bootable CWM card.

If you're trying to build an SD card with CM10 on it without messing with the internal nook software you can go to this link and download the SDC version.
http://iamafanof.wordpress.com/2012/11/18/cm10-0-jellybean-sdcard-img-for-nook-tablet/
It will already have superuser root access with the ROM so you don't need to pre-root the tablet before plugging in the SD card. Preform a factory reset by holding down the "n" button at boot before doing so.
You can repartition the SD card afterwards for more space. DATA1 is used to store apps downloaded, SDCARD is used to store app data and all other SD files such as movies, music etc.

Whether the NT boots onto an SD depends entirely on the format and content of the SD 1st ("boot") partition, and has nothing to do with the NT being rooted or not.
Also, many NTs can boot off SD only from power-off state and upon insertion of a powered-USB cable.

[Q] LG Optimus L5, external SD card can/can't be seen on different occasions

Hello World,
I've got a question concerning the external 8gb sdcard on my phone,
the phone is rooted, has bootloader and cwm 6, the rom is stock btw
My phone can put/place some things to the sd but some don't,
for example,
- Camera saves some of the pics to it,
- My PC sees it when I connect the phone and I can put apps/music etc to it
but,
- I can't use the app2sd built into android assistant (or any other app2sd apps) to move the apps to the sd, they just won't see the sd,
- CWM wont backup to it,
No /sdcard/.android_secure found. Skipping backup of applications on external storage

I've searched the forum, but I can't actually find the right solution for this?
I'm new to all of this, and I want to learn. I've found some advices to similar problems and that the solution is to partition the sd, is that the catch or maybe something else?
Thank you in advance, newbie.
Edit
A new example of not seeing the sd in recovery,
I wanted to flash the "Sony Album" via the Pimp my Rom app, it downloaded the app successfully, it asked for clearing of the dalvik cache, I approved it,
phone rebooted and went into recovery, and then the recovery said that the file doesnt exist (something like that).
Edit
I've tried formatting the sd with fat32, no changes whatsoever :S
apps to sd
how to move apps to external sd card in lg optimus l5 e612. i had rooted the device and still it shows this device does not support apps to sd.

[Q] Question about titanium backup

Hello everyone I have a Hisense Sero 7 Pro 8gb with a 32gb sd card. Model number M470BSA android version 4.2.1 Build number P756.6.02.20.00 kernel 3.1.10. Today I decided to root the tablet using the following method. http://forum.xda-developers.com/show....php?t=2297246 and since is my first Android device that I rooted I followed this video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yf0HZhrGMDU and everything worked perfectly (I suppouse)
The reason I decided to root my tablet was because I have 700mb left on my internal storage and when trying to install a 2.4gb game from the play store It said that I didnt had enough space even though i have 32gb left on my sd card. I downloaded Titanium backup to move some apps from the internal storage to the SD card but the option is not there, the only option available under move is MOVE-¨ INTGRATE UPDATES OF SYSTEM APPS INTO ROM¨ and theres no move to sd card option.
Is there an easy way to solve this? I am a noob to this so I would apreciate your help.
Thank you.
Try Link2SD. Just be sure to read the directions or find some guide on-line.

Aparted (and other apps) can partition your SD card from your phone.
BTW, Link2SD can not only move apps to SD, but newly downloaded apps can install there by default. Try that with your big game, and you might not have to mess around with moving everything else.

I made the 2 partitions and link2sd is not recognizing them and the install in SD card is not working either.
