Flashed on 4.1.1 Jellybean with success.
Thank you klobkelosh.

Guess someone should set this straight.....This keyboard is actually a separate keyboard from the actual 4.2 keyboard. Even on the Nexus 4 running 4.2, in the languages and input options, you would actually see an IWnn IME keyboard and under it would say Emoji input. So don't confuse it with the actual 4.2 keyboard. This is the reason why there is no gesture support because it is not the actual 4.2.
If you are looking for a zip that will work, this seems to be doing the trick. I have used it since this zip was giving me issues and this one flashed fine. Was a zip i got from klobkelosh http://d-h.st/dHv. Flashes with no problem.
Also another tip, if you use a the 4.2 keyboard, an easy way to switch from that keyboard to the emoji keyboard, go into the settings of the 4.2 settings, go to advanced settings, make sure you have the language switch key set and switch to other input methods checked. this will place a little globe next to your space bar. tapping that will easily switch between your 4.2 keyboard and emoji keyboard. Have fun

Cart before horse? The square means you have no codec support so:

^You might need this.
Otherwise re-flash your exsiting ROM, that should undo it.

Will this work with the new jb roms? I installed it and I can see it in language and keyboard but can't figure out how to use it. Is it possible? Thanks

It should be selectable as a standalone keyboard with only emoji.

And yes, as you see above it'll work on Jelly Bean & display as Andy versions.
iPhone users see the regular emoji versions. Jelly Bean users see Andy types.
If you prefer the non Andy version, install Emoji Font Updater found in this forum section.

Thank you so much OP. This works great. Any chance there's a way to replace the black & white Android looking emojis with the color iPhone style emoji? I find it difficult to pick out the emoji when they're just black & white.

Another test.
Edit: ok, if I clutter my emoji, some will be hidden, if I hit space after each one, I can see them. Quoting my other post I can see them even when crammed.
So I guess try spacing them out (just one spacebar press) if you're the type to have 5 emojis in succession.
Other than that, I don't know.
Sent from my iPod Touch 5

Just don't understand why it is this hard to be able send, receive and view emojis. I use a program called Shady SMS for some of my "extracurricular activities" and I can send, receive and view emojis in full size and color just like I was using a iPhone. Why is it so hard to implement it into the stock messenger?

you guys
My emojis work and my friends I phones get them. They even get the ones they don't have.
The reason they aren't working for you is because you MUST DISABLE YOUR GOOGLE VOICE from your #
if you don't do this EMOJIS WILL NOT WORK
just go to your Google voice in your browser and disable it from your sprint #

ok so i compiled a cm10.1 rom from source. your phone will now be recognized as an Optimus G and not a Nexus 4. I will be working on fixing NFC, storage issues and cap buttons. I wanted to get a working source tree for our phone first.

Disclaimer: Chameleon OS is currently in beta. While it runs very well,
there may be things that are not completely functional. The development team is
not responsible for any damage to your device or your information.
Chameleon OS (or ChaOS for short) is a custom Android ROM that gives the user more control than they can experience on any other Android ROM. Starting with a CyanogenMOD base, we customize each piece to give ultimate control while maintaining the simplicity we all love about Android. The most notable feature of ChaOS is the theme engine, which can apply different pieces of themes in a true mix-and-match style. The launcher has been completely overhauled with tons of options that you'd normally need to download a third-party launcher for, such as home screen previews, folder sorting, and folder icon styles. The Messaging app has also had some UI retouches, including messaging bubbles and quick emoji button.
The entire framework of ChaOS has been modified around the theme engine, allowing for custom fonts, boot animations (with animated preview), and themes. No longer do you have to try to find the perfect theme, with Chameleon OS you can patch it together with your favorite pieces from different themes. Messaging, Phone, Status Bar, icons, everything can be set completely individually from each other which provides the capabilities to completely re-imagine your phone. Creating themes for the ChaOS Theme Engine is superbly simple and has extreme versatility.
Even with all of the features we've currently implemented, ChaOS will continue to mature with even more refined settings and features. We will be completely open source and will welcome developers to join us, whether it be by maintaining a device or utilizing our gerrit review. Even if you're not a developer, your voice will not go unheard. We will continually poll our users for the most wanted features and do our best to implement them.

Thanks will work on that, this is the first Rom I've released for anyone but myself. I will be maintaining this thread as much as I can with twin two year old girls.

Either it was a bad download or you didnt wait long enough. I'm using Phil's recovery and it took a few minutes but flashed fine. Try a new download and flash again. If not download the PHils recovery zip, flash through TWRP and then reflash. Phil's will resore TWRP backups so all of your backups will be fine and you can flash it straight through your recovery, no fastboot needed.
I'll try bcuz I'm curious.thx

The status bar clock problem is in the stock theme so there isnt much I can do about that right now, but for a temporary fix go into theme manager and download another theme and apply. Ive tried multipple from the Chameleon forums link and they are all nice. Will have a look at torch tomorrow and see if I can't push an update either tomorrow or the next day to fix that. Also I will try to get a better site to upload to fo you guys to download from.
It took much longer than normal for TWRP to install ROM but Gapps and anything loaded normal.

I haven't tested any but the stock one, but since it had a CM base I would assume a custom kernel would have to be CM based

How to get 240 dpi in you rom?
Look to @nitol post:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=50947488&postcount=14573
Other way (easy one) look in the google store for https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.texdroider.texdroider_dpi and change the dpi to 240.
If you like 240 dpi mode and you use stock launcher and Contacts app, you need to look at this posts:
Launchers:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2708234 by me (note this launcher its has a lot of mods and autorotation, its not perfect).
or
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2706306 by @kenet (note this launcher havo no autorotation)

Hey my dialer and camera look wierd!!!
You need to use the AppSetting framework module to set the dpi individually per app in 320....Im working on a camera and seccontact and phone app 240 dpi version...
For multiDPI camera version 1.5 look this (and please give the thanks to @Pafcholini:

You had to make a backup before flashing !
Grab the stock one in attachment
Don't flash it in recovery please !!!
Push to system/app and give a rw-r-r permission.
Of course you need a 3rd party keyboard for that
There is something wrong with updater-script - it did not replaced SamsungIME.apk (S5), flashed with PhilZ recovery. But that's not big problem for me - I just extracted it and pushed SamsungIME.apk manually - tested briefly, looks like it is working OK here (polish language). Great job! I missed 240 dpi keyboard Now much better
EDIT: Screenshot (S5, 240 dpi): http://i58.tinypic.com/16hojf7.png
Maybe letters are a little bit too high, but that's just cosmetic, nothing important
Did You thought maybe about modding phone keyboard for 240 dpi? That's the last thing that not look good in 240 dpi

Overview
This is MIUIv5 for all-carrier HTC M8.
I will not provide OTA update but will provide an update to this every 3-4 weeks which will be freshly built to reflect progress in this devices configuration as your source builders make them available.
IE: I will not update only MIUI while keeping the same base, I will update device related things so there is an actual improvement with the versionup of MIUI; hence no OTA.
Warning
I've done this a lot and by now I should get this right on the first whack; I'm not sure what bugs may exist however so please leave feedback.
Kernel-level changes have been made, you can NOT use this on a locked bootloader device.

Yes, I wrote about how to port this firmware in great detail yesterday for anybody who wants to try themselves.
The question really is do you people even care about V5 since you have V6? I could always put a different chinese firmware here..

Yes I seen your AOSP version was a little loose, btw for anyone who wants to see how I'm doing this refer to my signature I've always been open about how I operate
I mean if you guys would prefer V6 I can do that too; It's just V5 is at the end of it's development so I wanted to release a stable gem before moving onto V6 work exclusively :X up to you folks though

I just flashed and so far so good besides the normal few issues.
1. Just like all miui LTE/gsm does not stick after reboot.
2. Search on home screen FC.
3. The navbar is kinda bloated should be smaller. The xiaomi version is the only one with the correct dpi for those.
4. Themes app is not working connection error.
Still going to try a few things to see, but headphones work unlike the other aosp version of miui.

To clarify, themes is FCing with a Fingerprint error?
Edit: Search on homescreen calls 'Google Now' and will FC without G-apps
Edit 2: I figured I could edit seapps_context kernel side as long as SELinux was killed, but if it's FCing then I was wrong, if it isn't FCing it may be Xiaomis servers

Well the themes app does not force close, but it says connection error does not load themes.
The search on the home screen force closes as soon as you hit it, but I just swap out for the google one it's fine.

Ah, try to wipe the app data for theme manager; afaik this is a common issue. I mean I'll rebuild from source again if I have to it won't be bad but I would like for a second person to confirm the theme manager is broken and not just being weird like sometimes
