Hey all
I have flashed a update of my ROM (Revolution ICS HD 5.5) to new version 5.8. Before i have done CWM Backup.
After having problems with the new version i decided to restore old version.
have done factory reset, cleared cache and dalvik cache and formatted system
after restoring and booting up system, now the contact app close when homescreen shows up, and i miss the settings.apk it is not installed anymore..

Try clean flash of stock ROM and then try restoring it but it seems a strange problem...and next time please post in correct forum

Which ROM/ROMs are you using or have tried? What steps to flash the ROM are you using?
Try the following method:
1. Flash any Lollipop compatible recovery, such as Apolo TWRP.
2. After flashing, reboot into recovery, and not into system.
3. Wipe Data, Cache, System and Dalvik Cache.
4. Flash the Lollipop ROM, GApps, and SuperSU.
5. Reboot System.
That should do it. If you're still stuck, then don't hesitate to ask. Also, this is not the correct place to post your question. You have to use this forum for all the Q&A.
Regards.
thanks bro
i tried many roms such as
SlimLP - Beta#12 [UNOFFICIAL]
and many
the case is when i try to push the power button or flip the screen the device restarts
but not from the beginning only a boot animation that happens with all roms
i did the same steps

I HAVE "CARBON-5.1.1-UNOFFICIAL-20150920-0305-enrc2b " CUSTOM ROM for my HTC ONE X+ so i started the process of flashing the custom recovery.
1. First i do flash recovery from "twrp"
2. then i wipe up all the cache and dalve cache too.
3.THEN i go to install there i go to the zip file of "CARBON-5.1.1-UNOFFICIAL-20150920-0305-enrc2b " and install it. everything goes right the after that i reboot my device.
4. At the time of reboot first my phone shows a "c" logo then stuck to it. After 3-4 hours it switched of may due to battery empty.
5. then i again switch on my mobile but it had struck to the HTC logo and not moving forward.
6.it is going to recovery mood but not rebooting the device.
7.I think it has gone into boot loop but i didint know what to do ?
8.I have also tried factory reset.
please help!

I have a VFD-600 that is stuck in a bootloop but, surprisingly, adb works. I can type "adb shell ls" and it shows all the files, but I can't go to /sdcard (which is a symlink to /mnt/user/0/primary, which does not exist.). I tried wiping cache, mounting system and wiping data, but I always got `E: fangjun failed to mount /cache (Invalid argument)`. What can I do?

Hi, is fastboot working for you? Using fastboot you can flash the firmware for your device and thus fix the bootloop.

Yes, and I've tried that but it gives me the same error. I only tried ADB sideload, but I don't think flashing from SD card will make a difference

What exactly happened before you got the bootloop? Do you have an unlocked bootloader and a rooted phone?
Try formatting the data or factory reset the phone

I haven't used this phone in a year, and it was working back then. Unfortunately, the bootloader is locked and the phone is not rooted.
