The X10i is (as far as I recall, the BIG Xperia X10, which has it's own forum on XDA) This forum is for the Mini version of the X10 (the E10 X10 Mini and the U20 X10 Mini Pro)
Firmware version 2.1update1 = Eclair, not Donut
Get flashtool and install it.
(If you have PC Companion or Sony Update service on your PC, you will already have the appropriate drivers, otherwise install Gordon's Gate drivers from the drivers subfolder in the location you installed flashtool)
Root your phone and install busybox (rooting with flashtool will automatically do the second too, rooting with other tools will usually not)
Unlock bootloader (if it is safe to do so, link to instuctions are in the kernel thread)
Flash an appropriate Gingerbread kernel.
Install an appropriate Gingerbread ROM from CWM
Install appropriate Google Apps (link can be found in the ROM thread)
From CWM do:Wipe data/factory reset, Wipe Cache, Wipe Dalvik-cache and Wipe Battery-stats (the last two will be found in the 'advanced'-menu in CWM.
It *may* be necessary to disable your anti-virus for a moment when you go through some of these steps, because technically speaking, rooting and unlocking the bootloader are considered suspicious behaviour and may trigger a block from your Anti-Virus software.
Have fun

Like SmG67 said, you are in the wrong forum section mate. Here is the right one for X10i : Sony Ericsson Xperia X10

[Q] what is 2.1.1.A.0.6 or 2.1.1.C.0.0 SE firmware

i was trying to installe android 2.3.5 but i found its post the i cant unless i have
Only 2.1.1.A.0.6 or 2.1.1.C.0.0 SE firmware is that the orignal Rom the device came with ?
If you go into 'settings' then 'about phone' you will see the phones baseband version. If it ends in 15 it is most likely one of the two firmwares you mention. If you try to install a rom dependant on these firmwares and you don't have it you will temporarily brick your phone. (Requiring the use of the Sony Ericcson Update Service to hopefully restore the phone to working order).
It is possible your phone has the firmware already installed but you need to check! Some network providers have been very slow at releasing them. If you manage to find the firmware on the web (make sure it is the correct language and layout for your locale - AND the correct phone) then you need to use a flashing utility to install it, I use 'flashtool' as it can root the phone and install xrecovery, but you must be sure you read the documentation and follow the proceedure.
Once you have xrecovery and the phone is rooted the magic can begin..
Be careful. Its very easy to render your phone bricked (as in the phone is as useful as a brick!). No one here can take responsibility for the advice given or your actions.

my phone android version 2.2.1
baseband version M76XX-TSNCJOLYM-53404015
KERNAL VERSION 2.6.29 [email protected]#1
MOD VERSION FROYO MINICM/CMV6 HYBRID BY SLADE87 AND OWAIN 94
BUILD NUMBER V5.01 FINAL RELEASE
SO CAN I INSTALL SONYBREAD WHICH requires 2.1.1.A.0.6 or 2.1.1.C.0.0 SE firmware
so do i have it????
Not anymore, but if you do Factory reset, yes you have
no it will not cuz the factory ROM is not exsist
In my understanding the firmware doesn't change when you install a custom rom and (to me) they are two different entities. So yes, in my view you should be able to flash sonybread but I haven't used it myself but I have other gingerbread ports without a problem
Once your on the correct baseband you can change between roms without having to flash via the pc/flashtool.
If you get into bootloops then you can try restoring an xrecovery/cwm recovery or failing that reflashing with seus/flashtool.

[Q] How do I get to 2.3.3? (resolved)

Resolved: the link in the Edit worked (the 2nd time, first time it just kept looping the Sony Ericson logo over and over so I reflashed).
Edit: Maybe nevermind, trying http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1192152 now.
Just picked up this phone from a friend. It had some unknown custom rom of 2.1 on it.
I followed the guide in http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=928343
Downloaded and installed Flash Tool
Downloaded and put X10a_GB2.3.3_AT&T_USA.ftf in the firmwares folder and followed the instructions and flashed the phone.
Upon restart I noticed I had 1.6 and not 2.3.3
I ran the official update from the PC Companion and it put it up to 2.1 and is now showing No Update Available.
Can anybody tell me what I did wrong? the 2.3.3 rom is the only rom i downloaded so i know i didn't just flash the wrong one.
I'm showing
Model number: X10a
Firmware version: 2.1-update1
Baseband version 2.1.65
Kernel version: 2.6.29 [email protected] #1
Build number: 2.1.A.0.492
The reason I'm wanting to upgrade is to meet the requirements to install http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1238402
Any help?
1st step
download rom http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1238402
7.03 baseband 2.1.67 or less
7.10 baseband 2.1.71 or more
download flashtool http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=928343
if 2.1/2.2
1) help > check driver
2) [Root] then rebot
3) [ask root prems]
4) [xRecovery]
after that rebot, press the back bottom, enjoi it

[Q] How do i update the baseband?

Hi guys,
I have a Xperia Mini Pro with this configuration...
Model: U20i
Firmware: 2.1-update1
Baseband: M76XX-TSNCJOLYM-53404006
kernel: 2.6.29
I'm still a noob at installing new versions of Android.
Can anyone tell me how i update the Baseband to M76XX-TSNCJOLYM-53404015?
I already have it rooted, i just can't install modified androids because of this baseband!
Thanks! Any help is welcome!
You need to update the phone using the SEUS app. This will upgrade your baseband but will also wipe any existing mods & data.
Simply Run the SEUS program and follow the intructions given on screen. Once you've updated, your baseband will be updated.

Not sure why your baseband isn't already, having re-read the post you say it already has 2.1 update-1 which is wierd. Try updating the phone again anyway it might solve your problem
You can update with pc companion
Sent from my U20i using XDA App
Try updating via PC Companion or SEUS, like that:

You need to change your build.prop file to fool SE that you have a different version so they'll send you the 015 version. To do this you must:
1. Root the phone.
2. Google and download a build.prop file for your phone (exact model).
3. Change your current /system/build.prop with that one using RootExplorer (or similar).
4. Reboot the phone.
5. Update the phone with PC Companion.

[Q]Is my current firmware 2.1.1.A.0.6 or 2.1.1.C.0.0 or other?

I'm trying to up my firmware to GingerDX (follow guide of stelios97), but he wrote
You must have se new firmware 2.1.1.A.0.6 or 2.1.1.C.0.0 to flash this ROM!

I dont know how to know exactly which my firmware is. In "about phone" only write "Firmware version 2.1-update 1"
I searched in 4rum and read that if my baseband version ends in 15, my firmware is one of these two firmwares. But my baseband version ends in 06, does it mean my firmware is not 2.1.1.A.0.6 or 2.1.1.C.0.0? So how can I know exactly what is it?
These my phone's info:
Model number: E10i
Firmware version: 2.1-update 1
Baseband version: M76XX-TSNCJOLYM-53404006
Kernel version: 2.6.29 [email protected]#1

One more question:
How can I know my Kernel is nAa 08 Kernel or what Kernel (I dont know what 2.6.29 [email protected]#1 means)? In stelios97's guide wrote that I have to flash nAa 08 Kernel.

the firmware is your build number, so you need to update it to proceed. The baseband is correct (ends in 06). If you are in stock rom, your kernel is stock too (to flash a new kernel there are other steps to do before). I hope this get useful for you, and as an advice, read a lot about android!

Thx for replying
But my build number is 2.0.A.0.504, so my current firmware is 2.0 or 2.1?
And now If I want to update to 2.1.1.A.0.6 by SE update service, I have to relock Bootloader right? (I just Root, xRecovery and unlock Bootloader yesterday). But I read in [Guide] Bootloader and kernel guide | X8 | W8 | X10 mini | X10 mini pro of SpyderX that
If you relock your bootloader while using a custom kernel your phone will be bricked!

So what I have to do to relock Bootloader safely? Flash another Kernel (like nAa 08 Kernel) before relock Bootloader?

You read it in a wrong way xD
Well, to relock your bootloader again, your kernel MUST be in stock, otherwise it will be bricked (it says so, I don't even mind to try it)...
To conclude, if you want to relock your bootloader again after having your stock kernel replaced with another kernel, use flashtool to replace your current kernel to the stock one, or just reflash it using SEUS to make sure. After that, you can relock your bootloader again
Hope that helps

your current firmware is 2.1. If you want to start all over again, you can simply go to the support zone in sony ericsson pc companion, in the update firmware section and "repair" (loosing all your data), and probably you will get the latest update available for our minis. And other option is mentioned by StardustGeass
I didnt use PC Companion (feared be bricked cause I unlocked BL already), I used flashtool to up my firmware to 2.1.1.A.0.6 successfully. In fact that I palpitated abit when flashing, but finally it was ok, my mini now is 2.1.1.A.0.6, all Root, xRecovery are removed and Bootloader is relocked now.
Now I have to start again to up FW to 2.3.7: root, xRecovery, unlock BL again, then flash nAa 08 Kernel be4 intall GingerDX from SD card
Thx for helping
This is my first post: Hi to everyone.
My mini is exactly the same than yuduy, except that mine is E10a. I have not modified anything yet, but I want to use the stelios97 Gingerbread ROM. Here in Mexico, according to PC Companion I am completely updated. So the questions are:
1.- What is the best way to update the firmware to meet the requiered buit number?
2.- How do I know if the phone will continue to work in the Mexican phone company TELCEL if I use a new ROM etc?
Thank you

nAa kernel & JB Mini Project stuck at launch

Hi,
This is my first post here, please excuse if i'm not right.
But i'm kinda glad to join that nice community.
Basically, i do own a SE Xperia X10 mini which i'd like to push another ROM into.
Followed the instructions there .
Could install this kernel as soon as I've installed it using flastool (latest version) i go into CWM and could install the JB Mini ROM (also did a full wipe etc before) but after install got a loopboot.
Actually I've recovered the phone using SEUS so i'm on the official stock ROM again.
Here're the info:
Model number : E10I
Firmware : 2.1update1
Baseband : M76XX-TSNCJOLYM-53404006
Kernel : [email protected] #1
Build : 2.0.A.0.504
Should i Update the baseband so that the 2.6.23.60-nAa matches it ?
Should i unlock the bootloader first before following the instructions on JB Mini Project 4.1 (link above).
Thanks by advance
Nervmind guys got it working after updated baseband using an official SE ROM from a different country then updated to 016 using SEUS.
Thanks for help provided in forums
