I'm running Win8 and for my LG tv I have installed PLEX media server on my PC, so when the Plex is running my SG3 is having issue to open the gallery, it's opened but not responding at all for 5-10 minutes, and after that gallery is slow, if I close Plex, gallery opens in 2-3 sec. I think its syncing my PLEX files, but how to stop that. GS3 running stock 4.1.2 UK BTU firmware, no root no modification at all, pure stock. Is there any fix for this, or I need to turn off my wifi or Plex to have gallery running well.

Hi guys,
I used to get a popup menu to select which app to play video when streaming upnp, I no longer get this popup and it seems like a player has set itself as a default and this app will not play my mp4 files, I've gone though all of my apps and non are set as default.
I'm running Vegan-Tab RC1 Gingerbread. Everything else seems fine.
I installed CleanDefault but still no popup. Can anyone suggest a solution.
UPDATE: I installed ES File Explorer and got the pop-up back, however when I try and play using ES Video Player I'm getting "Sorry The application has stopped unexpectedly, Please try again" I know my server is working ok since I can stream to my phone with no problem, this is only happening on the GTab.
Installed NWS Player and still cannot play video, they are encoded h264, is there a downloadable codec for Android? Anyone?
SOLVED BubbleUPnP to locate the file and Rockplayer Lite together works!

What are you streaming with, what app were you using on your tab when it worked and what app is now trying to open the videos?
In streaming with TVersity

Hey appreciate everyone's help with all the gtab issues. I'm a newbie and also have the Vegan-Tab RC1 Gingerbread installed, but continue to have video playback issues from not only web content, but from usbdisk files as well. Case in point, watching mp4 of Jeff Beck from my usb attached to gtab and plays about 7 minutes then locks up and I have to power down the gtab and reboot. Getting pretty frustrated, but hope someone can direct me to someone who can help. I've read tons and nothing seems to be helping much. Thanks for your time.
Hello everyone,
Im trying the DLNA feature with my PC media player,
It seems to work fine when streaming to my computer,
but when I try the other way around, while loading the "All videos" folder from my PC, it crashes and gives me FC.
Streaming music works, but movies gives FC.
Any idea why? everything else works flawlessly (as much as it can under WIFI b/g...)
Im running cognition 1.51 with speedmod T40
Can anyone help me on this, my GS2 loses it's default video file association on most reboots, and on a couple of occaisions without rebooting, I use the android video player for videos, which I check to use as default everytime I get the popup, also have quickpic and poweramp installed, poweramp is only in the choice box if it's an mp4, for all other video types it's a choice of video player or quickpic.
I've tried changing the video player apk for a newer version, an updated version of quickpic, and a 101 other things in the past week, and now have no hair left to pull out, this really does have me puzzled.
Obviously Android is losing the setting for some reason, does anyone know of a soloution ? seems completely ridiculous to me that the os can't even remember something as simple as which app to use to open a video file.
Hi everyone,
I've been going through a nightmare with my note 10.1 (N8020) recently.
Allshare video playback from other devices over wifi just stopped working. It was totally fine and I have absolutely no idea what happened. It still plays music and shows photos and all the files stored on external devices. The only problem is that it won't play video. It plays video stored locally or on sd card just fine, but when I want to play anything from my note 2 (n7105) or my pc's allshare app, video player shows error message: "Cannot play video. This video cannot be played".
It plays the same files just fine, when I copy them to the device, so I think it might be the case of some transcoding error. It is not a case of network settings - I've checked on 4 different wifi networks and it's the same everywhere. My note 2 works just fine on any wifi and plays all video from tablet or pc. Here is what I tried so far, with no results:
1. Restoring to factory defaults,
2. Wiping cache and dalvik cache,
3. Flashing fresh stock rom,
4. Erasing all allshare apps and video player data
I'm running out of ideas how to handle this annoying thing. Please help, before I pull the rest of my hair out.
N8020 & N7105 (JB 4.1.2 rooted + stock)
I still can't figure this one out. I started using bubbleUPnP to replace stock allshare and I must say, it is great! It's far better than samlink. The only feature I miss is that when I watch photos on tv I can't zoom in with my tablet. Samsung's stock gallery has this feature.

Chromecast works fine in apps that stream from the NET (youtube, etc). Both from S3 and computer.
Streaming from my PC videos NOT made with the S3, are fine.
Streaming videos SHOT with the S3 from the PC or from the S3 are constantly stuttering. Some of them don't do it, but most do. They are shot in 720p (not 1080p).
Switched from AOSP back to Stock, same problem. Anyone else?
And streaming the same buggy videos through PLEX server (from PC to Chromecast, controlled via S3 plex app) works great. So I assume something is wrong with the videos themselves?
