Just got this bad boy delivered today and so far, it works great and it has slot to charge a second battery but unfortunately not an extended battery. It does have a insert in the main cradle however that can be removed so you can charge the phone with certain cases and possibly an extended battery (Have not tested yet).
Pros:
Can charge the phone and another Battery at the same time.
Has a good weight and is very stable.
Cheap!
Cons:
The USB wall charger it comes with does not give you a full AC charge but a USB charge. I changed out the wall charger and I was back to AC.
Can't charge the extended battery on it's own. (you might be able to do some cutting in order to make it fit however.)
EDIT**** I know I said that this will charge an extended battery but I'm not sure that's fact yet. I believe it will only fit certain cases and not sure if there is enough room for the extended battery. If after testing it does fit, I'll make the corrections here. Sorry if I got any false hopes up.
looks cool, may pick one up.
says in the description that it doesnt fit the extended battery

I believe the blue light is power and the green light is for the second battery. If you put a battery in there that needs juice, it'll turn red and back to green when charged.

Maybe I have a different one, or my USB on the charger is at a bad angle but there's no way the phone will charge with the extended battery with or without a case. Bummer! Still awesome though.

Here's some pics of the red and green light as well as the angle of the USB.

.... Nobody said that. It will fit certain cases. You just have to take out the insert that you see in the picture.

Do you have problems inserting it into the dock. Seems like inserting it into the microUSB connector would be a pain.

Just ordered mine! Can't wait to play with this puppy
This is a better option than the Verizon dock that I got with mine. In order to use it I have to take the phone out of the case every time...and no slot for an extra battery. Now I just need to sell my dock...
Thanks for this link. I've been looking for a dock that will fit with the case installed.
Well first off I have to say that shipping with this seller is top notch. Wasn't expecting it this early.
Within the first 2 seconds of having this dock I broke the thing that keeps the battery snug in the back. I used my training from my days with the A-team to make the battery stick. The phone with extended battery fits but kind of awkwardly. I MscGyver'd something else to make it sit more naturally.
Umm I really do need something to charge both so I'd order again if I had to, it's a decent dock just not made 100% the way it should be IMO
I am looking at this unit or at another unit:
http://www.amazon.com/RND-Power-Solutions-Battery-compatible/product-reviews/B006IKLPSC
Not sure why anyone would have tried both, but if so, any comments?
I have lost my battery after i drove off with the phone on the roof of my car
Is there anyway possible to make the Galaxy S3 turn on without the battery?
edit: Yes, it is possible as described by rpomponio:
It is easy actually. You have to have it on a charger and have a little skill. Find out what the battery out putt voltage is. Then get a cell phone charger with same voltage. Strip the end of the charger to expose the positive and negative. Then simply put positive wire on positive terminal and negative terminal, remember there are probably two positive terminals on the phone so be careful. I have done this rigged up process many times in the past with devices that had a shot battery. So be careful!

With the charger connected of course. I think you could do this with the Nexus One.
It doesn't seem to work, but I was hoping for a trick or something to make it work
I'd not recommend such experimentations since you can easily destroy your 600$ phone with one single error if you have no practice working with electronics or electricity in general.
Replacement batteries are not that hard to come by and if you need to get data from your phone immediatly, I'm sure phone stores or repair shops will be able to help you out by giving you a battery for a few minutes so you can transfer the data off your phone.

Yes, but you need a full surgical team and a butt load of machines....:silly:
As for the battery, go to ebay, you can pick up an SGS3 battery, not going to be original, for around $3 or $4 AUD as long as you don't use the NFC... Otherwise you'll need a real samsung battery and that will set you back about $30AUD.

Good call, why not possibly wreck your phone instead of waiting till you have a battery :good:
The battery outputs 3.7 volts and all my chargers (micro-usb) outputs 5 volts, so I can't do it.
Also the lcd is cracked and I was planning on hooking up an hdmi adapter that needs a power source of its own, and having 2 chargers connected at the same time is propably not wise.

I just picked up a wireless charging pad from my VZW store.

Did you get the LG one? If so, supposedly the thing beeps super loudly every time the charger turns on according to the Amazon.com reviews.
You are supposed to be able to take it apart and remove the speaker from the board.
I just ordered 2 for $35 ea from there... hoping for the best.

Great. I'm curious if the beep happens every time the charger kicks on (I believe it shuts off automatically when the phone is fully charged) or if it's just one "beep" when the phone is set down on it.
Either way, I'll probably be disconnecting the speaker since I will use one bedside (don't want to wake the sig other) and one at work and don't want to bother my coworkers either.

i was on the fence yesterday about getting it, and picked it up today and i am so glad i did. i especially like how firm of a grip it has. i still think i may pick up the energizer one from amazon so i can have one at home and one at the office
I'm thinking of picking up the LG pad (and ripping the speaker out) to put on my desk. I can't think of anything more convenient that just putting the phone down and it charging up. I'll probably continue to use a charger at night for now. I'm not really crazy about the LG pad, and you know there'll be more options out there soon. I'd rather hold off and get one that's maybe more stylish, or slimmer (and no beep!) before I invest in a second pad.
I'd like to see a USB powered pad if possible, so I could toss it in my bag and take it to work with me (no free outlets at my desk so I currently charge my phone through the USB port).
I just ordered the nokia charger from verizons website, it is compatible with DNA.
Long Term Use
I have read that wireless charging causes the battery to get warmer than corded charging. I wonder since this is a non-replaceable battery will that effect the overall life of the battery. Is anyone else worried about long term use of a charging pad. I love the idea but wonder if it will cause issues later on.

What I'm worried about is the constant charging and discharging that will happen when we're forced to charge it over night, at work, and then in the car.

I didn't see it answered anywhere, but if you go with the wireless charger will you be able to keep a slim case on it? I don't want to put an otterbox on it or anything since it is already a pretty big phone, but I would like to put one of those slim form-fitting cases on it.

I dropped my phone a while back and smashed the screen. I replaced it myself and, to make a long story short, now it won't charge via USB. It says the battery's running at 80°c and it won't charge. However I can touch the battery at this point and it is cool to the touch. What I want is a build.prop setting to turn off the battery temperature sensor or something similar. Can someone tell me how to do that?
Everything else seems to be working fine.

So far I haven't found a cell phone repair shop that will try to fix my phone. One guy tried to replace the USB port, which didn't work. Another guy said he thought it is the Power IC. I guess that kinda fits since the phone speaker sounds all distorted with low volume too. It sounds like a wireless microphone with a dying battery.
I watched a few videos of Power IC's being changed. They made it look pretty easy. It requires a soldering blow gun that probably only a real electrician would have though. Wish me luck with finding a cell phone repair man with real electronic skills. There seem to be quite a few phone fix-it shops in my area. Surely someone can do it.
Or maybe it's something else. Anyway it looks like it's going to take a pretty sharp repair man to fix it.

Thanks for the reply. I have a spare battery and a cheap external charger. The charger is too wimpy for a GN2 battery though. If I can't get it fixed I'Il have to get a better one.
The thing that really sucks about this is I can't use it on my car dock. I love using it like that and it's tearing me up that I can't now. When my wife is with me we can use her GS3 but when I'm alone I like to crank my tunes and use my traffic app. Not to mention charging the battery. This phone has got to get fixed. It's driving me nuts.

From the reddit AMA:
“We added Qi wireless charging starting with N4 because plugging in USB micro B was such a hassle! (Which way is up!?) With this year’s Nexii, we support USB Type-C which has a reversible connector so there’s no more guessing. AND it charges incredibly swiftly: 1% to 100% in 97 mins on the 6P for example (the first ~45 mins of charging is especially fast). Meanwhile, wireless charging adds z (thickness). So, ease of plugging in + fast charging + optimizing for thinness made us double down on Type-C instead of wireless!”
hope the real reviews on performance, multitasking, day to day usage and camera starts coming in. the anticipation is killing me! (most importantly, whether it overheats and stuff haha)

Why there is not a single Nexus 6p video on youtube like with other phones? WHATS GOING ON? i thought this phone was ready for order at launch? like 10 days passed already?
To me, having a Tylt wireless charger is almost as good as having my old Galaxy with ZeroLemon 7500 mAh battery. My phone has been dead in the morning, sat on my desk at work all day while researching, YouTubeing, WiFi tethering etc and leaves work daily at 100%.
In all honesty I'm hoping that the 6P is significantly better than the N6 (which is awesome) and someone creates a wireless charging pad that plugs into this USB C crap so I don't have to get more cables.
P.S. USB C is not a replacement for wireless charging and giving it to us without USB 3.+ is a slap in the face regardless of how unnecessary it may be. Should have just kept the regular port.

There is no doubt he has the phone. I'm guessing in a few days we will have all the reviews we could want on the 5x/6p

Did you notice the reply to MKBHD from Google's brand new head of Android?
@Lockheimer: @MKBHD tell us more.

I can't tell if he's saying they can post more info (doubtful) or if it's a thinly veiled threat

Did anyone else notice in this preview, there is a closeup picture of the back of the 6P, which seems like there is a visible scratch and a few dark smudges close to the Fingerprint sensor... I sure hope it's my imagination and this thing is more resistant to scratches...

It's aluminum... Not tungsten, of course it's going to scratch. Much easier than a plastic phone

Think of it this way now.... your phone is dead in the morning so you throw it on the charger while you eat breakfast and you are good for the day. Or worst case you throw it on the charger again at lunch for 10-15 minutes. You arent confined to using it on the wireless charger (that must be awkward?)

Not awkward at all. In fact I can use the phone while it's charging, eating breakfast and working and every time I have to move I just pick it up and go vs having to fiddle with the plug. Not for nothing I have quick charging in the car so it definitely helps, but when you work 10-12 hour shifts it's just so convenient and requires no thought to charge wirelessly.
I wrote that while charging wirelessly BTW
