[Q] WiFi connecting problem

Have a samsung galaxy II 9100. Had no problem connecting to wifi while it´was running 2.3.4 or 2.3.6 official firmware, untill 2 days ago when I made an upgrade to official 4.0.3 ics. Now it connects to all other wifi networks except my home wireless. I made a clean flash, wipped data, cashe, dalvik cashe etc.I´m using linksys WRT300N wirelles-N router, and all other devices are able to connect it, my laptop, other android phones. Also before I installed an ICS 4 I tried MIUI 2.3.16 running 4.0.0.3 Android. Had the same problem. Can anybody help me? Thanks

Wifi problem fixed on SGS3 with AOKP/CM10

Hi all
I have installed both AOKP build 4 and CM10 nightly Jelly Bean on my Samsung Galaxy S3 I9300. Unfortunately, in both ROM, the WIFI works but very unstable. It dropped after 10 mins or after the phone went to sleep for a while. I have tried a few methods to work around including the *#0011# trick, reflash to stock, turn on wifi then reflash JB. There are only two methods that work. First, using WifiFixer which is an app that can be downloaded from Google Play Store. And the other is to install Siyah kernel latest version (1.7b4) which has updated Wifi driver. Hope this helps

[Q] P7510 on ICS 4.0.4 (XWLP5): unstable WiFi

Dear all,
I noticed that my P7510 running on ICS 4.0.4 (XWLP5) has an unstable WiFi connection when the received WiFi signal strength is not maximum (2 or 3 out of 4 bars). Connection often disappears and when trying to reconnect to the WiFi network manually, the there is no response. Turning off / on Wifi on my Tab is no solution to the problem either. Even a full reboot does not always help. I updated from HC 3.2 to ICS 4.0.4. after full flasing HC 3.2 first.
Is this a known issue? I cannot find any decent info on this. Or is there a ROM that fixes this? Please help. Thanks in advance.
I had no problem with the WiFi what so ever not with 4.04 and not with cm 10 jelly bean
Did you have that problem on 3.2?
Try and flash the official ICS from sammobile with odin
Thankfor replying. I did not have this issue HC 3.2. I went back to stock HC3.2 and updated via WiFi to official ICS v4.0.4. No official releases for my country for P7510 are available for my Tab, but other official ICS v4.0.4 versions I tried from Sammobile have same issue.
I'm thinking to go to CM 10 release, but since wiping is required and my P7510 has brick bug, I'm hesitating to do this operation.
Try the sammobile UK version that's what iam running and it had no problems
Cm10 is faster than official ics and gives u much more options It's a better experience at least for me except for a bug or tow but some people don't even notice them
About the brick bug I don't know what that is cause I had no problems wiping data so i can't help u their sorry

I already tried UK version from Sammobile, same WiFi issue when signal strength is not maximum. Regarding the brick bug: check this out: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1879941

I don't know what it's not working for you every thing oky with me
About the brick bug....... I just checked and as it turned out I too have the brick bug and I have actually ran EXPERIMENTAL-p4.zip
I have wiped the data and installed custom roms more than I can count......i don't know maybe it's over-rated or iam just lucky!!
Iam afraid to do it again now but he says here "Avoiding brick:
The only danger now seems to bi if you are on stock ICS ROM and you execute factory/data reset in Samsung recovery.
If you are using custom ROMs and CWM you should be safe because all custom ROMs/krenels have now removed mmc_cap_erase() from list of capabilities."
Iam running a custom rom so I don't know.....

Which ROM to install to P7500 3g?

Hello everyone
I'm thinking to install a custom ROM to my P7500 3g but still not sure which one. I specially want to play my 720p brrip movies on my tablet. Any good roms to recommend? btw i used overcome rom like last year, the first release i think. it was good but couldnt follow the hack scene since.
If you have no special needs not covered by stock rom i would advice to stay on stock rom.
GV
Well the stock rom starts on lagging on me lately and uses too much of the ram.Plus since I havent heard of jelly bean coming to the tab 10.1, i wanted to try the custom roms.do you recommend the cm 10.1 or the overcome rom?
I have no personal experience with other Roms on my P7500 but i have tried cm10 on my other Android devices. From what i read on the xda forum i am not at all sure that another rom (ICS or JB) will improve my Tab rsponsiveness. My Tab runs currently extra smoothly with stock 3,2 HC rom, rooted and overclocked with setcpu app using Pershoot's kernel (thanks)
GV
Be very careful .. I bricked my first tab by simply putting an american rom on it by accident. When I went to factory reset from the recovery it triggered DSOD and locked the device.. A very rapid learning curve indeed!!
aaanyway....
Been on CM10.1 for a week now on my GT-P7500.. fast , buttery smooth and a pain free install....make a nandroid backup from recovery first !! do a wipe and factory reset afterwards. I love the look and feel of it now... mmmm shiny
Thanks for the reply caramel.Ok i'll install the CM 10.1 too I'm using 4.0.4 now.In Galaxy s2 the 4.0.4 has a wipe data bug, bricks the device.Does the tab has that too?

IF you've flashed a custom recovery, there's no worry with the emmc bug.

[Q] GPS not working on 4.4 ROMs

Alright so this is what I have installed:
baseband: vraljb
rom: gummy 4.4.2 ver. 2.1 -01-09-14 NIGHTLY
kernel: 3.0.64-gummy-gbe62803
pa-gapps flashed
cwm recovery 6+ latest
I have been trying the 4.4 roms available (gummy,cm11,pa,slim) and on none of them the gps works. I was wondering if there is a fix so that I can get the GPS to work on the 4.4 roms? I have only tired google maps and the gps does not work on google maps for me. Basically when i try to navigate to a destination it keeps on saying searching for signal... Any advice greatly appreciated!

When this happens to me I flash a TW rom, enable gps, let it get a good signal lock, then reboot into recovery and re-flash custom rom. This has always worked for me in the past, might be worth a try.
