Nokia Care Suite stuck in Offline Mode - Nokia Lumia 800

Hey guys,
I just installed Nokia Care Suite (2012.5.3.4) on Windows 8 and it seems to be stuck in offline mode.
Checking for updates from the launcher returns "Firmware repository not available". The Product Support Tool has "Work Offline" checked and greyed out... and the Firmware Download window has greyed out buttons with the message "Network is not available now".
All apps are allowed in the Firewall. I even tried disabling it to no avail.
Any help ?

Has noone any help? Experiencing this either...

Are you using Nokia Care Suite on a wireless connection? if so you need to plug an ethernet cable into your pc/laptop

My laptop is on a wired connection.

I am also having this problem with care suit on a wired connection. Connecting to my Lumi 900 is no problem, but I cant seem to get the PST online.
Edit: fixed, downloaded the old version from here.
forums.wpcentral.com/nokia-lumia-920/203979-fix-bricked-920s-after-reset-flash-process-defined-inside(dot)html (replace dot with ".")

Wired here, installed Nokia_Care_Suite_5.0_2012.45.4.5.msi and always online - though I expect it to change at the end of the month when the "public" access to the servers is said to be closed and you'll need a specific kind of account to use it.. IDK.. lets see.

Using the T-01A(japanese version) as a modem

I am completely stuck trying to use my phone as a modem. My biggest problem seems to be when I'm connected via Activesync the phone cannot connect to the network and I get an unknown error message. Is this a futile mission or am I just stupid?
Im currently using PDAnet to try this but so far every method i have tried has failed. I can only guess that the European ad Japanese models are similar so I'm asking for help!
thanks, quin
just a stab in the dark , but ,
theres a little box that u should have ticked under pc to usb settings , its called advanced network functionality
i tried with and without it checked but there was no difference.
last night i tried again but this time through wireless and the results were the same but now with 2 errors. a packet error. docomo must not want me to do this...
Are you tried third-party program? Try something different, not always what is coming with the phone.

Lumia 710: Question update/USB/demo

Hello all,
Lumia 710, Firmware - 1600.3007.7740.11465
Dev Info: RM809, PC: 059L3R1
EDIT: So first question I guess is if any of the above can be an issue?
So I got my hands on this demo unit, I was able to remove the demo firmware and load the full thing. Phone works well, though I have no microsim to fully test it out. I wanted to update the 710 but I'm having issues. I check via the Zune software but have several issues:
If 710 wifi is on and internet on comp is working:
1) Connect phone to zune,
2) Sync options load.
3) Manually check for update.
4) Wait about 2 minutes.
5) Phone is up to date, so no available updates.
This seems wrong as most if not all have the Tango update, so I search and find the update trick. I try to follow the guide but it goes as follows:
1) Lumia device has wifi turned off (no cell data as ni micro-sim) OR in airplane mode.
2) Load Zune software.
3) Connect device.
4) Receive error about "Can not make a connection from your phone to the internet". I initially assumed this was expected and just clicked ok.
5) Manually try for update in the settings
6) Wait 2 minutes.
7) Get another error; "Can not connect to update service at this time".
EDIT: As a note, the update check lasts about 2 minutes either way, and if I even leave the net connected, when I plug the device in in airplane mode it will still say it can't connect to the update service, thats why I'm asking about the initial error of "can't create an internet connection to your phone"...
I then searched for solutions to THAT error, and have since, enabled mobile services, removed and refreshed cirtificates, and restarted an event service. Then re-installed the Zune software, all to no avail. That is, on reconnection, I still get that Connection Error.
So main points have been made, next thing to note is I am not using the original USB as I don't have one. I have tried however several others. Standard USB, HTC (older), other data-capable USB. All same result. Is this possibly the only reason, or is it something from above?
Are there files or more information I can post to get some more help? I would really like to get this working. So any and all useful advice is welcome.
Also, didn't see a 710 specific forum, and many posts on it here, so I posted this question here. If it's the wrong place, mods please move or let me know.
Start Zune
Turn off Data connection and Wifi on the Phone
Connect the Phone with the PC (USB)
Start the update search in Zune
About 3 seconds later, disconnect your PC from the internet (Turn WLAN off).
Zune finds Mango-Update. Press OK.
Connect to the internet again and install the update.
There you have it, this quick and easy trick will work if (and only if ) your carrier has already began rolling out the update.

Ahoy, Thanks for the quick reply. However, this is not my major question, I've found the trick several times. What I want to know is if that weird error message I get has anything to do with the process. No matter what I always get the error, and subsequently I get the "cannot connect to update service" error. All is as I said in my first post....
The device has 809 written behind the battery. But I will try to load 803 firmware if that may be the issue, thoughts?
Edit: So I'm thinking the problem is with the Zune software. Despite a complete removal and reinstall I still get that connection error message. It seems if the device has no data connection, Zune wont connect (or can't) to the net to check for any kind of updat. The subsequent "we can't connect to the server" error message is consistant and happens with another wp I try while it's also has its data connections off. This is what I wanted to ask if its common, or if there is something seriously wrong with my install. It won't find updates at all if the phone's data connections are off. Any advice on this?

Same problem. Ive done everything (reinstall, USB debugging on/off, used the Unarchiver trick, etc) and it still doesnt recognize. There's also a problem with my network, it allows me to send texts but when people respond theyre sent to my Iphone 4s that I switched from. When I connect my Note it first says as installer and then goes to media device. And when it is installer a disc pops on on my desktop call My Verizon? I have a mac, 10.8 btw.
I also apologize if I am highjacking but I did not want to make another thread with essentially the same problems.

Cant get it connected to my computer either so stupid
Extremely. And now my swiftkey swype on samsung keyboard is not working.
Ok uninstall all samsung stuff you have. go to "device installation settings" in windows 7 and hit never install new drivers. Download the older 1.5.6 samsung drivers and it should work. I atleast got it to show up on my computer

Has anyone found any resolve to this yet?
Install Kies 3. After a while it will let you know that the connection failed. Leave the device connected and go to the menu bar and select tools, reinstall device drivers. It will reinstall and it should work fine from there.

Need help for rooting, how to enable USB ADB Access

When I connect the phone (SCH-I545, verizon) to the PC, I see two choices shown under the pulldown menu: Connect as Media Device (MTP), or Camera (PTP). And the MTP choice is checked automatically.
I believe my phone has the latest OTA update. And I have turned on the Developer Option, check the "USB Debugging".
Did I miss anything? Please help.

Are the drivers installed?
When you plugged in your phone, did the permission prompt for ADB appear?
What devices show up in the Windows device manager? (Windows/Break, then device manager.) You should see a "Samsung Android ADB Interface" appear if all is correct.
Yes, the drivers are installed. I first installed the samsung usb driver, I installed the kies package given I don't see the USB debugging permission message. Just tried the same thing in ubuntu, same result.
I must have missed something.... Just don't know what it is ....
The phone's developer option is on and debugging is checked,
On PC side the driver is installed. In fact, when I tested this in ubuntu, I ran "adb devices", it saw the phone ....

Got it!
The message showed up after I toggled between those two choices. It was done in ubuntu. Thanks very much.

The "this device is not supported" message means that your phone (m0? What's that?) is patched by the vendor to fix the flaw that Saferoot uses to root it.
You'll have to find another tool to root your phone.
Thank you!

Okei! Thank you for your help. It is a Galaxy SIII.
Just managed to update to Android 4.3 Jellybean at the same time as I changed mobile network operator. Mobile was locked and the NCK code from operator didn't work. Probably need the MCK (Defreeze) code to unlock which operator doesn't have access to. So no mobile phone for me atm.
I used VRoot and used a change-to-SuperSu guide and it worked. Couldn't find anyway to remove the network lock though..
Couldn't post the links on how I rooted and changed to SuperSu since I'm a n00b at this site.
And sorry for maybe posting this in wrong thread!
Best regards
Oscar

[Q] Motorolla Device Manager not working for Windows 8.1

Hi,
Need to know if someone has connected the phone with "Motorolla Device Manager" through USB? If so how?
From past two days I have been trying mine to connect, however, it only connects to the windows and I see the files etc. but not to the MDM.
I tried un-installing, re-installing, re-booting but nothing seems to be working for windows 8.1 64 bit.
I have googled and searched on the Motrolla site with no luck.
I have unrooted Moto-E XT 1022 4.4.2.

The MDM is still not working. When it's installed at the last step the installation says that the MDM icon would appear. It never does. Manually starting the MDM, starts the software updater which also errors out at the end. See attached screenshots.
After some work around on enabling the USB Debugging and then turning on the MTP, I do get a Media device on windows. In the drivers I could see the Motorola ADB Interface and my XT1022 as a portable device. See attached screenshot.
Strangely, when both the MTP and PTP are unslected then with only the USB debugging on, the device is not recognised as the windows doesn't find the drivers. See Attached screenshot.
Probably, the problem is with the MDM and it's drivers which are Motorola specific.
Another question I am wondering about is what functions does MDM provides, apart from software update?
Use this.. Uninstall Motorola device manager, reboot.. Then install it..

Also please search the forum before posting.. I found this on frequently asked questions thread in q&a section.. Hope it helps[emoji106]

Still the MDM is not working.
These seem to be older versions of the driver. The problem seems to be specifically with the MDM and it's specific drivers as I am successfully able to connect to my Moto E for Tethering & use it as mobile hotspot.
Can any one point me to the functionality of MDM?
Same question

Motorola has released Motorola Device Manager V2.5.4. This has solved the driver related issues I've had on Win 8.1.
Uninstall the older version before installing the newer version.
Edit: Download Motorola Device Manager from https://motorola-global-portal.custhelp.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/88481
I installed 2.5.4

Same problem here..
anyone got a solution?
I am using Windows 8.1 64bit. Mdm is working fine for me
Sam problem here with Windows 8.1 64-bit Motorola device manager 2.5.4
On the same computer I was able to run virtual machine with Windows 7 32-bit and it worked correctly. So it is nothing wrong with the hardware on either end. just Windows 8.1 driver issue.
