Hello, I have an Lg Optimus sol
Recently my camera has been failing on me
Whenever I open a camera application, it just says camera not detected
I'm rooted, and using Sony erricson's rom
I've been using the rom for quite awhile now, no problems until 3 days back
I've tried everything, and pulling battery out, and and even factory reseting..
I recall deleting some system apps, like the camera apk, and some others...
Is it because of me deleting the camera app? Or something else?
Need help please!

try doing a fresh install, maybe something went wrong with some app and damaged a file or two... the install will surely fix it.

Have you dropped your phone? Maybe the camera connector got disconnected or something.

Hi, I've been using a number of ics roms since it was released and am currently on wanam v 12. I was wondering if anyone else has had a very slow response from the stock camera since moving to ics, never had any problems with gingerbread. The camera takes a picture normally but takes several seconds to finally respond and able to take another picture. Any advice?

Probably not the advice you're looking for, but try miui rom, specifically cmiui. The camera is really nippy on that one.
It may be a CM9 camera apk that's installed in cmiui. You could see if you could track down the apk on its own if you don't want to flash another rom.
And I know what you mean, every ics rom has given me bad lag with taking pics.

The GS2 doesn't have zero-shutter lag, but I am not experiencing a few seconds worth of lag as you are.
Try clearing data in App Info, which will hopefully fix your issue.
Try alternative cameras on the Play Store, namely Camera ICS.
Report back and tell me if that fixes anything.

Ive had GT-I9300 model for several weeks now. Got it from Expansys. Didnt really notice this problem up until 1-2 weeks ago and its been happening alot throughout the day. I even tried factory reset and the problem is still present. Im talking about apps force closing alot. If im on facebook and im multi tasking or just using facebook app trying to view pics etc the app will lag and it will force close..sometimes this gets so bad that phone restarts on its own...it def. doesnt feel like quadcore at all.. the whole phone is just very slugish. What can I do here. Thinking about selling it and get gnex if this continues to happen without any solution.

If ur rooted try siyah kernel it make your phone pretty snappy but sucks more juice than the stock..

mind mentioning the app name that force closes.? try updating the apps to latest version or try different apps for the purpose.

So you would blame GSIII if rogue apps from market FC? You should even mention the app names as bala said and whether you have restored data? This kind of half baked question will never get a proper answer
If you search the forums properly you will find alot of threads with advices how to remove the said sluggishness from your s3 via turning off certain settings like s voice and also heed the previous poster's warning about rogue apps.
When i turned off alot of unnecessary settings the lag came off and i can listen to music while playing HD games while having my facebook on the background.

I surprisingly didn't find any thread about this issue with the S3 so here goes.
I cannot use the front camera on my friend's S3 with any app, whether the Camera app, Skype or whatever.
In the Camera app, the main camera works fine but once I switch to the front one, the app crashes and won't work until I force stop or clear data.
- A firmware update didn't work
- A factory reset didn't work
- Warranty return is not an option
Please help me.
Give me any suggestions and I'll test them.

Only other alternative is to maybe take memory card out and try it on another phone, then put it back in.

I tried all of that but nothing worked.
I'm coming to the sad realization that this is a hardware issue and nothing else can be done about it.

Exchange for another. Sbf
Substitute a different ROM
to downgrade to see if I did solve my problem and nothing works; (
Even done all these procedures the errors persist, already tried several tutorials and does not solve my problem!
My only way out now and here on xda!
What should I do to have my atrix all original? With everything working as I bought? all these problems came after I moved to the official CM7 ROM after that my atrix was never the same! please help me out!

What problems are you looking at? you say what you've done to try to fix the unknown problems and what rom you were on, but you fail to identify to us here on xda what the problems are

Yes already changed the sbf via rsd not resolved
I've done up to a downgrade to 2.2 froyo not resolved
The camera opens it gets a black screen and when I leave it hangs the system
Does your led flashlight work. If on stock use an app of playstore... no lighty no camera. Camera/led module knackered.

Download a flashlight app (for example, torch, flashlight, etc.) If it does not work, your camera has an issue and needs replaced. If thats the case, buy a new atrix, the flex cable that the camera is on is hard to find.

I auditioned with the flashlight app
I open the application and then turn on the flashlight
and then the application hangs with the cell

Sound like hardware fault... flashing of Roms will not solve this. Google for spares but for what I gather there prity rare now.
I blew mine using cm torch app with full brightness.

Cameras for this phone aren't hard to find. Just go to that auction site and enter MB860 camera flex. Hundreds available and they are like 9 bucks. Also, teardown of the phone is available in the interwebs so anyone can do it easily.

Hi,
I had a problem before about 1 year, i was young in developing back then, i installed a ROM in S-ON, and because i didn't know too much, i S-OFF-ed it with RIFF JTAG, and then installed a ROM, when it booted, I was happy, but when i tried to open Camera app, it opens and closes in an instant, and it started rebooting by itself, and i throw my phone in my house, today i changed my mind (I got some skill there in XDA), flashed a RUU, now it doesn't reboot, but Camera app it's the same, i tried replacing Camera in HARDWARE but nothing, and i don't have warranty, any idea? Flashlight works, but Camera and Camcorder are not working
I really want to save my EVO 3D .
