Hello
I just wanted to make a CWM recovery for my phone (Xperia SOLA) with stock kernel build .54 which is not available,
I know how to open kernel and make it again, I just don't know which file should I add, replace or change!
It would be really good to tell me which file should I bring from last CWM recovery (which was for build .10).
thanks in advance

I highly suggest you to contact a kernel developer of our section so that he/she helps you to integrate cwm into the kernel ramdisk ( this will be permanent and not on the system partition ). Also, in default.prop of the ramdisk, make ro.secure=0 for adb root. Once you have CWM, get the latest Superuser binaries from here - http://androidsu.com/superuser/
By this way, any firmware version should become easy to root. I would love to help you, but I don't know how to integrate CWM into ramdisk.
Also, try extracting the zImage and ramdisk from your stock rom using this - http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1659584
I will also try to root your latest firmware. Don't worry, there will be many devs soon. Good luck.
Note : - The above mentioned steps are only for unlocked bootloader, as it is not possible to flash custom kernels with locked bootloader.

Yesterday I bought denver tablet tac-90011,
I made a root successful,
Now I ask for help because I do not have experience with Tablet,
I know very well how it all works on Android phones.
I would like to install Custom Rom on Tablet,
So I'm interested in that process....in fact I do not know that ClockworkMod Recovery i must flash to make stock firmware backup....or whether it should even need recovery for flash custom rom
also do not know with what tools I flashed new custom rom..
is there anything like Samsung Odin ,
or the procedure is different
I would be very grateful for your help
SO:
- I have denver tac-90011
- rooted
- Android 4.1.1
-what next...need CWM Recovery???
Thank you very much?
Hello!
I could really need help for updating my recovery mode i don´t get at there is to much information to find the right one i need.
My problem is and some information:
I´m running pac rom i9100-nightly-2013 10 05 at the moment and recovery mode is since a few weeks for a reason i don´t know(had philz touch before):
CWM-based Recovery v6.0.4.0
But i want Philz Touch back and i don´t want to choose something wrong and brick the phone so i really need your help
Don´t get it which version i can install because of kernel and all that stuff....
Thank you all for your time and helping someone who is lost in information...
Philz kernel/recovery is for stock firmware only.
but..
But i had a recovery with touch control and filemanager a few weeks ago? is it possible that it was included in slimrom i was using before pac rom?
thx
Only rom I've seen it on is neat rom. If you want cwm touch then flash Apollo aokp/cm kernel with modded Philz custom recovery built in. Take care with Apollo as he has both stock and custom kernel now and also twrp and cwm version of the kernels
Phone: C6833
Android Ver.: 4.4.2

Hey Guys!
I have a questions related to kernels. I want to install this:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2712065
I saw that I need this custom kernel:
https://github.com/SlimRoms/kernel_sony_msm8974
I don't know how to build it. I did read that i need Linux ?! I'm not sure about this.
Anyways I still don't know how to realize this. I know that I need a .sin or .img file.
I really need help with that
After that, if I manage to flash my phone with that kernel, does it start into recovery or
is any recovery pre-installed on that kernel ?! If no, how do I install/access cwm ?
I can't find any helpful tutorials for flashing custom kernels on my phone.
I think I have this kernel accidently installed now with flashtool:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2548092
(how can i check what kernel i have and is there any stock 4.4.2 kernel maybe with cwm ?!)
The main question here is, how do I install a kernel for custom roms like cm or paranoid or togari roms, etc. ?
I am very thankful for every helpful answer!
greets

SOLVED: I found out myself. the boot.img is in the zip files -.- I am pretty dumb (Y)
Hi all;
I recently got my hands on an old Xperia P. with too much pain I put CWM 6.0.1 on it. Right now the phone is running on old stock 4.0.4 sony android. the baseband is u8500-49020908 and the kernel version is "3.0.8+ [email protected] #1".
A) I found "LT22i_6.2.A.1.100_Generic World.ftf". it seems the latest and the last sony generic update. could I flash it using "FlashTool"? (if I do that do I lose CWM that I installed). (Do I need to do this update in order to use custom ROMS).
B) Could I install any kernels with the help of CWM? ( with the condition that the version would be higher) (like nemysiss kernels ....) (could someone explain this topic a bit).
C) Right now I am using CWM. how could I install twrp. the twrp for Xperia P is an script that needs my current boot.img file. where could i get it. ( I have a boot.sin would It worked.)
D) Does "Xposed Framework" work on Xperia P?
Any things That I should know? any tricks that you encountered with Xperia P will doing system tweaks?
Thank You ~/
