Known issue is known. Search the forums
I just want to point out how absolutely useless it is to tell people to "search the forum" instead of posting a link to the thread that has the fix. Case in point: when I "search the forum" for this camera issue, this thread is the one that shows up. So instead of having a link to the actual answer (which would cause the actual answer to be the top result in something like google), we get this.
no, people just need to stop posting questions before searching. telling a person to search is not useless, spoonfeeding him is. check out the first rule of xda
I found this as a top result from a google search, and could not find a solution on the forums, so just to help anyone else who gets here via google, here's how I just fixed mine:
1. Go to Settings > Apps > All > Gallery
2. Click "Clear data"
3. Click "Force stop"
4. Restart the phone.
I've been having this issue for a long time and could never find a fix. Hopefully this works for you, and it's a shame other people are rude and not as helpful.

really?*_* now it works with flash? in wich rom?
in CM
Looks like I spoke too soon anyway. Camera is broken again. I'm running RC1 which was released yesterday, and I still have the bug. Doing the steps I detailed in my post fixes it again, but it keeps breaking.

Its really irritating when someone who "is" searching wastes time with a bunch of arrogant people that just reply with "search the forum" If you don't have an answer then don't post.

So, you want me to search the forum for you and find the thread relevant to your post? Don't use the rom, but have seen similar threads pop up. Why not chose a few keywords and enter them in the search box? Keywords "CM 10.1 camera gallery"
If you read about the rom you are installing you know that CM does not have a proper camera for the I9300. There are a few workarounds, but it is possible the latest release is not compatible with these workarounds. Or maybe you haven't even tried them.
I usually don't post messages saying search, but this is such a common question there is no excuse!
Even more Camera fixes on the way. Hopefully it'll be available in today's (or tomorrow's) build.

Has anyone got this to work with the Nook? I installed it from the market on my HTC Inc and it works fine. So I figured I would give it a shot with the Nook running CM7. It downloaded and installed. It opens but when I select a video it brings up the sign in window and selecting that causes a force close.

Don't mean to be rude, but seriously man? There's another thread about this on the front page of the Themes and Apps page. Do a search before posting a thread.

Suppose I did. Guess it just bugs me when people don't take a minute or two to check and see if someone else posted the exact same question.

I wasn't going to reply to you first post. I figured I would let it slide but, I guess you are a very unhappy person to continue to bust on someone for a mistake. FYI no I didn't do a search and I didn't see a thread already started but, XDA's forum has a search built into the new thread window it actually does a search before you post. It only showed threads related to HBO to Go for phones and the Nook is a different beast. So you keep right on trolling keep up the good work.
Hello, everyone!
I am new to Android and to this forum, so someone please give me a step-by-step solution to the following issue:
I have a Goclever i102 netbook (it's basically a tablet with a keyboard). It runs on Android 2.3.3, kernel 2.6.35.8, build GRI40. The problem with it is that when I try running some apps (including the media player and the file explorer - "My Pad"), they just turn on for a second (enough to see the title bar) and then instantly turn off. I also tried resetting to factory settings, but that didn't solve the problem.
I would try anything (even upgrading OS if necesary).
Please someone tell me how to solve this issue by myself...
Thanks in advance!
Did you try looking in Settings->Applications for a compatibility mode option for specific apps?
Sent from my E3D
There's no "compatibility settings" anywhere in the applications settings... Anyway, as I said, I did a factory reset... so there are no user applications installed.
Open the application's settings (Settings->Applications->Manage) and clear the data.
Done that... Nothing changes

Did they work earlier perhaps they are just I some way incompatible with your tablet. If you give me a logcat from the point of opening the app to the point of it disappearing I may be able to help.

I just bought it three days ago from someone else and he said he didn't notice anything unusual but I'm not sure that he did use those apps or that maybe he was the one who broke them...
About incompatibility... that makes no sense because they come preinstalled with the netbook... For the moment I tried installing other apps that do the same stuff and they work, but I would still like to find a solution to this problem.
Oh... and about that logcat... how do I find it?

Logcat is a system activity log .To get it you need a android sdk and adb.Connect your phone with debugging. Run ddms and then under device click logcat and save it to a file during the time I. described above

I have searched the site and not found anyone else mention this issue. Please accept my apology in advance if I missed the thread on this topic.
The "search this thread/forum" button is still there. However, after I select the button the keyboard pops up and then promptly disappears. The result is that I am unable to complete a seach using the button.
I experience the issue with the stock browser, firefox and chrome... all of which are current versions.
I have Android version 4.0.3 and believe I am running all current software.
Has anyone else experienced this issue? If so, is there a solution?
Best regards.

Thanks for the response and suggestion, but now the search this thread/forum link is gone completely, perhaps someone is working on it I will try this as soon as/if the link comes back.
I wouldnt have even started this thread if it wasnt so difficult to locate the tablet under the advanced search tool at the top of the page & the message I just got when trying to seach by Sony android devices returned an error as well. 'Invalid forum specified...'
Cool, thought I was bugging out for a minute LOL I kept scrolling up and down like wtf happened to the search button?? Good to see somebody is working on it.

Everyone find the time to play MOD but not to help. Amazing, but they are right. Theres not much you can do but to reset your device or flash it with a newer firmware. Go to recovery and factory reset your device. If your not rooted and are on stock recovery this will wipe your device clean.
Good luck and be carefull with where you post, people here will bite your head off for less.

Had this problem too and couldn't solve it except by resetting.
I did however read someone having the same issue found Handcent SMS to be the culprit in his case.
Try removing application by application that you've downloaded, you might get surprised.

Dude got the same problem. Try out the new nighlty build of cm9. Fixed my problem with calls!
I had this problem shortly after I installed CallRecorder and fiddled with the settings. Luckily had a nandroid backup and the restore fixed her right up. Not saying it was CallRecorder though. Probably me fiddling too much.
In previous versions of the Shostock ICS ROM, when I used voice commands with my Blueant Q2 headset, it automatically used Samsung Voice Command for making hands-free calls (worked great). But since I upgraded to 4.1.4, it defaults to Google Voice Dialer and then doesn't work. I can't find GVD in the applications list to deactivate nor can I find a way to make SVC the default.
Shoman didn't have any idea about the problem.
Can someone help?
Thanks in advance.
I think shoman misunderstood your original question when he responded about installing SVC yourself, but you only gave him a couple hours to respond to your clarification about setting the default before you posted over here.
Which voice command pops up for you now when you press the search button on the phone? The Google Now one that has "Search, or say Google" in the search bar or a different one?

When I press the button my Blueant Q2 headset, the Google Voice Dialer pops up. The little red circle to the right of Google then has a never-ending circling line and GVD never seems to engage.
I want SVC to pop up, not GVD.
Does that help? Can you help?
BTW, I just upgraded to Shostock 4.1.4.
Gotcha. I think I understand. Have you tried a long press on your phone's search button to pop up all search/dial options and set Samsung's to default?

When I press the Search button, Google Now popped up, but I told it "Maybe Later."
I just tried long pressing Search, per your suggestion, and set Samsung Voice Talk as the default. After that, when I long press Search SVC comes up. But when I use my headset, GVD still pops up.
Other ideas?
I do appreciate the help...
After messing around some, this seems to be a problem with 4.1.4. I use AVX as my default and hadn't gotten around to reinstalling it since I flashed shoman's latest. After restoring it, I set it to default and am having the same exact deal as you, a press on the search button opens Google Now but my headset starts the Google dialer with the spinning red circle even though my default is set to something else. A long press on the search button will open my default, though.
Just flashed back to 4.1.2 and the problem persisted, so it isn't the latest version of the Shostock ROM.
So what has changed? I don't know. But being able to voice dial while driving is essential for me and I can't do it now.
Thoughts?

Nope, I haven't and probably won't until sho releases one. I'm pretty dedicated to his ROMs.

It's more than that. Before Google Now, a press on the phone's search button opened whatever your default was set to (same as a long press on my Plantronics set). Now, a press always opens Google Now's search, and a long press opens your default. I could live with that, but our headsets now always open up neither, it starts the old google voice command. Pretty funky.

Hardly an "epic fail" on your part given the awesome ROM that you have created.
Any solution?
I restored back to 4.1.1 and it works great. As I need hands-free, I'll stick with that until this problem gets ironed out (or you create a JB ROM!).
