I hope I'm posting in the right place.
I'm trying to enter some cheat codes into Gameboid on my Nook tablet.
All research I've done says to simply push the "menu", button and select cheats but nook does not have a menu button.
I've tried different durations of pressing/holding the "n" button, but to no avail.
Can someone please tell me how to:
a. Access cheat codes input for nook tablet; and
b. Enter cheat codes?
And perhaps show me a better version of the app I'm using? (gameboid)
I know it sounds silly.
Thanks xda. Looking forward to a response

You can always use the app called Button Savior to bring up the menu and other buttons. It requires root to work.
You simply press the back button

Anyone try logmein yet? I got it but it doesn't work. Gives me an error.
I was using logmein ignition, I recall that it was working with the first CM7 release. After reading some reviews, I got the impression that teamviewer was a superior product, and have been using it successfully for a few weeks now.
1. What error are you getting?
2. Not sure, but, this thread might belong in the Q&A section, and you might get more responses there.

Indeed it is. Not only is it very quick and easy to set up, it's also free. I use Hamachi and a VNC server on my PC/Mac/Linux machines, but on Android I use Team Viewer to access my home machines.
It just says there been an error report. Then ask me if I would like to send it. Ill try these suggestion though. Thanks a lot
I opened a support ticket and with a the log files I was able to gather they only updated the app enough to get to the login screen. According to the logs the app crashes when trying to read the screen orientation. Until they address it, the app is broke on the b&n OS.

I can confirm that version 12.x works. Did a google search for logmein.apk installed the version I found and it works. I do get a force close if I hit the menu soft button after logging in but it remotes beautifully.
I went into google play after installation and unchecked automatically update. Of choose I could only do that since I installed over the top of the latest version.
Thank you for the tip, I'm a happy camper

Hello to everybody,
I have a small strange thing.
When I use ICS (or ICS+) browser on the xda site and wanting to do a search, here is what happens :
- I touch the "search this forum" button
- it opens the field below
- I touch the "free text area " to start typing
- I see the keyboard sliding up, and then as quickly, it slides back down and the search box closes...
as a result, I can not perform any search on the XDa site.
It does not do that with Opera nor with dolphin.
PS :as a matter of fact, that was yesterday, because this morning, there is not even the "search" button only the "forum tools" one... but I believe it is related to a temporary site issue.
Anyway, has anyone experienced this? Where could it be coming from?
Same here, quite frustrating....
Same here with stock browser.
If you use the keyboard dock it works. But when use a onscreen keyboard you cant type in this sorts of popup text fields
WOW, thanks for bringing this up. I have had this problem for god knows how long. I first noticed it with my rooted HTCEVO. I seem to have this problem with just about all the forums. Now my prime also.
Is it an Android thing? Did it work for you guys with a different browser? Weird, I havent been able to use the function for so long I havent even looked for the search, and now I too see that it is gone. Is it a Vbulletin vs Android thing?
Would love to know the problem/solution.
thanks.....
EDIT: I have a dock, but never tried the search function with it. Now I guess we cant, I dont see the ability to "search this forum". What happened?
Anyway, there seems to be something going on with the search function on the forum now...

edit 05/03/12 : search function is now back on the forum. I'll try again the ICS issue, see if it is still there...
Search function is still not working for me on browser+. However, I know it's not ideal for a quick search, but if it's any consolation the advance search field works.
Kind Regards,

Hi!
Any idea how to put a button anywhere on the startscreen of my SGS2 Android 4.0.3 to start a network scan directly without the detour via the menue?

I am sorry, there is a misunderstanding: i'd like to start the search for GSM/UMTS networks from the startscreen.
No problem. Sorry, don't know of any, will report back if I find anything of interest though.

Not sure if Tasker can do this; you'll need to get/install it & play around with it, but if it can you'll be able to create a shortcut to the task on a home screen you can hit. Bit of research required by you to check this out, but it's probably your best bet at this stage.
Many thanks for the hint! Tasker is an universal tool which i will use intensly!
I'll be busy for weeks now... Maybe i even find a way to start the search run.
Best regards
Gerald
Let us know how you get on/if it works
Hi!
It needs much more time to get familiar with the Tasker. There is so much to discover! The perfect toy!

I keep wondering where the moderators have gone when i see this thread still in the development section.
Hello Guys.
Hope i'm in the right forum now.
I'll write a app to let people switch between every app the like to with the mode key on the SWC. The difference between the app that is alraedy there is that i want to do it with an graphic interface like it is on the Parrot Asteroid Smart.

I have a little experience in wirting Android apps, so the app itzelf won't be a big problem i think.
The big question for me: Show can i recocnize if the mode key is pushed or not?
Anybody ideas?
Already thanks
Regards Christoph

Decompile Xposed MTC modules around here or even Car Service app (RK3066 Car Service or somethinh on Google Play). Or contact developer. He may help you.
BTW I think having simple app with UI would be great thing. I really dont like these *.ini files for Xposed modules where you never know what you are doing.

I am using MTC keys module to overtake the function of the mode switch in my app ( modeswitch). I didn't manage to do it without this module. I manage to recognise the button presses without xposed, but the " original action" will launch anyway parallel to the "modified" one, leading in a mess! Since xposed doesn't work in the "hybrid 5.1.1" ROM until now, that limits the possibilities.
I have also in plans for a graphic interface, but there are a few thinks to concern: eg how to navigate between the options when you show the graphic interface.
If someone find/share how to intercept the buttons commands without xposed and "on the fly", it would be easier to set everything up.
I still use kitkat so its no problem.
On the parrot you press mode as far as the app you like is selected. If you don't press the key after eg 2 seconds the selected app will be started.
That's a little bit what I want. But with any app I want, so I can simple change between music, navi ...
