Screen freezing - HTC Amaze 4G

So I''ve been on the same rom for about a month and it started freezing.
For an example, I would be doing something normal, like texting, and it would just freeze.
any fix?

Go back to stock, and if problems continue you may need a replacement.

You can start out by cleaning up some things, download "amaze memory clear" from the market and open it. Go into recovery and clear cache and dalvik.
If the problem still persists, then create a nandroid backup, and then do a full wipe and reflash the ROM you are running.
Now if none of the above works, then do a complete restore back to stock with the RUU.
I've used roms before that ran perfect, but after some time went by, they would begin to get sluggish, freeze, etc, a full wipe and reflash usualy did the trick

ODIN Problem - Stuck at S after Reboot

I just tried using ODIN to go from KA5 to KA6 and I'm stuck at the S after rebooting.
I had no such problems going to KA5.
I did do a battery pull and then clear cache partition, but still stuck. That's what unstuck me last time.
I also just tried a reflash and same thing.
What else can I try?
I'd rather not do a data wipe, but is that likely that will work? I did do a full Titanium prior to the flash.
Nevermind. Came up after the 2nd flash! phew
when you were flashing did you repartition or have pit set? did you have any lagfixes running on KA5?
He probably didn't wait long enough after loading new rom and reboot. the S screen takes up to 30 seconds sometimes to go threw booting up your device and also sometimes you will not have service, If that happens you need to reboot your device again and you should be golden
Yes, I think that probably was it.
My bad.

[Q] New Roms wont work, stops unexpectedly

So here is my issue, I have recieved my repair vibrant back from samsung, due to bricking the phone, they replaced the motherboard, sent it back with 2.2 on it.
I have downgraded, rooted , and gingerbreaded it. But here is the question now none of my old roms work at all. I consistently get all type of force close;TWlauncher has stopped, LogsProvider, android.process media all says stopped unexpectedly, I have tried multiple roms still no success. Any suggestions.
Download a new rom, go into recovery, factory data reset, go to mounts and storage, wipe system, flash the new rom, reboot and don't touch your phone for fifteen minutes, reboot. Also try going into recovery, advanced, and fix permissions.
You noted "none of my old ROMs"
How about you just ODIN back to JFD, take my update.zip (B in the noob guide), and download a new ROM.
Check the MD5....
Flash, reboot, wait 10 minutes, reboot, enjoy.
You may be restoring system apps also, which would be a no-no if you are.

[Q] RUU after DirtyRacun S-OFF

okay, got too excited too soon.
I followed the procedure as prescribed. after that was done i fastboot flashed TWRP and restored a backup taken prior to starting.
now some things are acting wonky,of all things my fantasy football app now crashes whenever i try to scroll down the screen. i've uninstalled/reinstalled wiped app and dalvik caches, done everything i know how to remedy and it still does it.
also my battery life doesn't seem quite what it was, could easily get almost 60 hours out of it before, now it seems to be chewing through it a bit faster.
could this have to do with the way i restored my backup? i didn't wipe anything first, just restored right overtop U.IO's RUU...
if i wanted to rewind as far back as possible, could i do a full wipe and install the official RUU? i'm assuming from what i've read around here that i will not lose s-off by doing this, only the hboot and everything would get overwritten. but i should be able to fastboot flash the DR 1.19 hboot back on after that, correct?
and then once the platform is set, should i go to wipe and do a factory reset or one of those options and then restore my backup? just trying to make things as crystal as can be

Sounds like a bad restore/back up. Try super wipe then restore, if still weird super wipe and start over, sorry
If your already s off I wouldn't go back to scratch, just a super wipe

stuck on cyangenmod logo

So I have had Cyangenmod 10 installed for several months now and it's been working fine until I would say the last 2 weeks. Now, sometimes it will lock up or slow down and when I restart it, it will get stuck on the cyangenmod logo and never fully boot. After several restarts, I can sometimes get in and all is fine. But today, I have rebooted the Nook Tablet about 10 times now and the Cyangenmod logo will spin for a bit, then stop and then spin and then stop, etc but I can never get in
Ideally, I don't want to restore as I have a number of things on the Tablet that I want to keep. Any suggestions before going that route?
Try going into recovery and wiping cache and dalvik-cache, and then reboot. When oddball things happen, this should be your first trouble shooting step.
Good luck

tried the wipes and still gets stuck on the cyangenmod logo..just spins and stops for a bit, then spins some more
any other ideas
Titanium backup the apps/data you want to keep then full wipe - data/factory reset.

can't do titanium backup if I cant even get passed the cyangenmod logo
Ya good point.
You may have to reflash the rom (or another rom) after a full wipe. I know you are trying to avoid this, but you may not have a choice. You should, however be able to restore your data through advance restore in recovery (make sure you do a backup first though). And it is possible something you put on your nt is causing this - not likely but possible.
Had you done any mods or such on you nt prior to this?
Edit - Another thought too, try flashing the latest update of cm10.1, Just wipe cache and dalvik cache. Flash over the top your current build.
Good luck

[Q] Can't factory reset, faulty flash?

Hi,
I have some problems with my i9300 running newest nightly of CM11.
A few days ago my phone started to reboot without any reason. This kept on going 15-20 times. It had me insert my PIN, then during start-up the phone just rebooted.
After rebooting 15-20 times, it now runs for some hours when I only do standby and phoning.
I thought, maybe it's a problem with the Rom and I should just do a clean install. I have used the CM updater for quite a while updating the nightlies, so maybe it's not the worst idea installing a CM11 on a "fresh" system.
Okay, I fired up Titanium backup to backup my apps.. but Titanium could not find my license. Okay, I thought maybe it was a problem with Titanium, so I tried Helium. Helium also didn't find my license key. So, I think there is something wrong with the license handling. Nevertheless, I backuped up all my apps except two apps. Whenever Helium tried to back them up, the phone rebooted.
After backing up I booted into CWM recovery to do a factory reset / full wipe. But when I select factory reset, it says "Formatting /DATA", stays for 1-2 seconds and then the phone reboots. Have tried it some times, but nothing helps. I can't do a factory reset.
I used eMMC brickbug check, this went fine and reported no errors.
When I go to Settings/Storage, the phone reboots. When I go to Settings/Apps, the phone reboots. When I try to uninstall one of the two faulty apps (I think there is some more going wrong than just these two apps) using another uninstaller, the phone reboots.
I don't know what else I can do or where the error is. Any help would be greatly appreciated. tia!

Unplanned shut down (instant reboot) can corrupt partitions. This can also be a symptom of nand damage.
Try flashing a full stock firmware with Odin, if that fails then use the rescue firmware and pit -search in general forum.
Factory reset after flash and before first boot.
Yeah, it worked. Thanks a lot.
Flashed stock rom with Odin, then it was possible to do a factory reset. Afterwards just flashed CWM recover and CM11 and restored my backup..
Have lost some data because not all apps could be backed up, but nevertheless, it seems to work like out of the box
