Does anyone know of a good ring tone app that let's you edit your mp3s with affects like fading in and out and messing with the audio? Doesn't matter if it's paid or not. it doesn't have to be a ring tone app, it could be an audio app or anything that would let me cut and edit and save my creation.

i wouldnt know of an app that lets you "make" your own ring tones.. but i know rings extended or any file manager can be used to set a mp3 as a ringtone or notification... if you want to cut songs you can use mp3 ringtone factory
Ringtone maker might be what you're looking for.

Download Go sms pro or other messaging apps. You can set a ring tone or message tone for individuals by going into individual settings. Open up the message of the individual and hit menu button to access the individual settings
I just had an itch today to find a high quality sonic the hedgehog sound pack, preferably ogg, to use for my notifications and ringtone and what not. Anyone know where I could find such a thing?

Ringtone: Deus Ex Human Revolution - Main Menu Theme

I don't think I've had an incoming phone call since I flashed a Rom a couple weeks ago. Not sure what the ringtone is for calls
But my text ringer is the logger pro connection sound. If you have taken a physics class in college you know the sound. I mainly only text, we have sero so web don't pay full unlimited for phone
We used to mess with our physics professor when we first made the tone. Logger pros would be connecting all over the room, we would just keep texting each other

It's in the Messaging options. For per contact tones, you need a 3rd party SMS app like Go SMS or Handcent.
I have the song from the South Park episode that Butter's tap dances too...
"There's something in my front Pocket"
i make music. so i make my own ring tones im unique!!!!!!!!!! yaaayyy!!!
I'm really hoping there is a fix/solution for this because this makes absolutely no sense.
While on a phone call, the "notification" for text is so incredibly loud (through my headphones) that it hurts my ears. Now please don't tell me to just set the notification volume low because then I wouldn't be able to hear the notifications when I'm NOT on a phone call.
It seems incredibly ridiculous that one cannot adjust notification volume when on a phone call. On my blackberry while on a call, it would produce a soft chime if I receive a message but it's soft and just loud enough so I am aware of the incoming text. With this phone, it screams in my ear! And to make things worse, if I put the phone on speaker or handset, the notification screams through the speakers and the person on the call says what the hell was that???
Is the only option to adjust the notification volume down EVERY TIME I MAKE OR RECEIVE A PHONE CALL... or go deaf (or annoy the people I'm on a call with)?
Please tell me there is a real solution because I can't find one.

I don't want to turn off notifications altogether. I just don't want them going off at the standard set volume while on a call... because it's blaring loud.

I downloaded GOSMS PRO and inside this app there is a setting to set to vibrate while on call... This app is much better than the stock messaging..IMO.

ahh, so go sms replaces the stock messaging system? i don't want that. but i do want the same thing that pj is looking for.
looks like there is nothing that can be done for it pj :-\
the only thing i can find to help you is, goto Settings / Sound / Notification Ringtone. now when you are on that menu, turn your volume rocker down. you will see that the "Notification volume" can go down (or up).
that is all i can find, should help some
Using tasker you can change the volume level during a call and set it higher after...
